Library_modules (list of & wiki write permissions)
Hello,
I poked a little bit to extract the list of modules dependencies in
Syslinux v6 (see below). I have attached a bash script that generate a
nice table from the tarball. The output can either be an ASCII table, or
wiki markup, typically for the page Library_modules[1].
I am not in the wiki Editor group, so I can't put that in the wiki.
anyway, here's an updated dependency tree for

[PATCH 1/1] : PCI detection code doesn't corrupt memory anymore
From : Erwan Velu <erwan.velu at free.fr>
This patch fixes the pci detection stuff demo'd in pcitest.c32
- Fix a wrong type in malloc
- Incorrect use of strdup
This two fixes makes pcitest.c32 working far better, no more crash when
running it twice.
I'd like to thank Sebastian Herbszt for its reports and tests.
This patch was made for 3.62-pre16 but applies fine on 3.63-pre1.

SYSLINUX 2.08-pre11
I have released SYSLINUX 2.08-pre11. It is the same as 2.08-pre10
except I have added logical partition support to the chainbooting module
(still no partition hiding or anything like that.)
Unfortunately I have no way to test this at the moment, so I thought I'd
release a -pre11 and see if someone was willing to take it for a spin.

[PATCH] Makefile: Move Makefile fragments into mk/
From: Matt Fleming <matt.fleming at linux.intel.com>
Move the MCONFIG files into a mk/ directory and give them more
descriptive names.
This is purely a cosmetic change to make the 'include' directives a
bit more coherent by making it obvious exactly which MCONFIG file
we're including. For example, in com32/lua/src/Makefile we exchange
the line,
include ../../MCONFIG
for the

Syslinux-5.00-pre11
Hi guys,
Here's another 5.00 prerelease. This one includes fixes for most of the
bugs reported in the last round of feedback. The XFS filesystem code
from Paulo also got merged this time and there were a bunch of fixes
from a Coverity report.
This won't be the last prerelease, but we are nearing the end of the
5.00 release cycle, so please do test.
Shortlog append below.

Follow up to adding EFI boot?
Have been trying some things, but something isn't working at least with using
Virtual Box with EFI option. With it off, the cd boots as normal, and works, but
with EFI on, it has an error that flashes on screen, and then it drops to a shell
prompt. I'm hoping it is just a dumb mistake I am making, and can be
resolved. Perhaps I've named the directories incorrectly, or there is a

ifcpu[64].c32 functions drop to command line
I'm having issues with the ifcpu[64].c32 modules. I am building a menu system (as opposed to the command line only options I was previously using) to make it easier for my boss to use PXE. I discovered the modules for auto detecting the CPU and thought hey, that's great! However, I'm having an issue where when I select to boot say System Rescue CD, it drops me to the command line

SYSLINUX 3.52 released
Hello everyone,
I have just released SYSLINUX 3.52, being functionally identical to
3.52-pre10.
Changes in 3.52:
* Handle capitalized F-key commands in the menu system.
* Fix padding error when loading multiple ramdisks.
* Workaround for VMware crashing when trying to print a
message during early kernel boot (does not seem to work,
consider deleting.)

bad performance on 2.4.23
hi,
- big and ugly mail. If you don't like them, delete it now :-) -
I have collected and classified some information of:
http://home.earthlink.net/~rwhron/kernel/bigbox.html
And I observed that ext3 performance is worse than previous
kernels(2.4.19...). -ac and -aa are here only as reference.
Complete information is in the upper URL.
dbench: Performance is worse.

Dell problems with PXELINUX 3.62
Hello.
We've been using a very old version of SYS-/PXELINUX, 3.36, going by the
proven "if it works, don't break it" philosophy. We us it mostly to load
floppy disk images to kick off OS installations.
Unfortunately we've recently had some PXE menu problems (USB keyboard
stopped working) for a certain Fujitsu PC model, and decided to upgrade
to the latest version, i e 3.84.

3.20-pre11 with password management
Hey folks,
I was trying the complex menu from the lastest pxelinux 3.20-pre11. It
did install a password file in the /isolinux/ of my tftpserver.
Then I try to authentificate myself as user3 with as password I've been
tranforming using sha1pass.
When I select login, the screen blink and doesn't ask me anything. I
reslect login, it ask me for a username.
I give user3 and then my
