I have run into a few problems in getting applications to work with Kubuntu. I'm running Kubuntu 9.04 and Wine 1.1.23. If installing an application, I get errors during the process and the installation is aborted. My system is Kubuntu 11.10. With wine 1.3.37 I had no problems. But after the recent upgrades, when I start a wine application, it blocks sound, that is, Linux-based programs have no sound when wine uses audio. This has occurred with the stock kernels in Kubuntu since Kubuntu 18.04.
