extlinux graphical menu with function keys
# Hi all, # # I have a question regarding the syslinux menu as used on the Ubuntu, # Sabayon, ... live CD's. # According to the syslinux documentation the function keys can be used # to display a help file, but in the menu of these live distros the # function keys are used to pick the resolution, language and keyboard. # # I would like to bind a submenu to these function keys. Is this #

Patch to add option-key menus (similar to SuSE patch)
I've written a patch to add option-key submenus to menu.c32 and vesamenu.c32 for doing things like changing the video mode. This was inspired the the patch that SuSE applies to the syslinux family and Grub, without the ugly pseudo-PostScript spaghetti. The patch may be found at http://www.valleyhold.org/~gordons/syslinux-optmenus.diff (it's over 30K, so posting it here didn't seem

Function key menu patch
I sent this a few days ago, and it doesn't seem to have showed up in the archives... so I'm resending. I've written a patch to syslinux-3.60-pre2 to add gfxboot-like function key submenus, without the ugly pseudo-PostScript scripting nightmare. :) It still needs some debugging - it gets slightly confused if you hit a function key assigned to a submenu if you're already

Gnome's profiles tool?
Hi all, I'm looking for a tool to create and manage the users' profiles in GNOME desktop environment. I've searched Pessulus (included in GNOME admin tools by default according GNOME docs) whitout success. I've tried to compile Sabayon (the CentOS rpm is not avaiable I think) but there are a lot of dependencies to resolve. ?Any ideas? Thanks in advance. -- Jordi Espasa

Can only print to the default printer
I am not sure if I am experiencing a WINE bug (I have looked through the bug reports but can't see this particular problem mentioned) or if this is a current limitation of WINE... I am using 64-bit Sabayon Linux (multilib) 2.6.36-sabayon kernel with CUPS 1.4.4-r2 and 32-bit WINE 1.3.4. I have several printers configured in CUPS. With native Linux applications I can select from each

Aion 2.5.0.x on Sabayon 6
Guys I'm making this post because the wine tests details section get truncated but most of it was for Sabayon users: ---- -What Works- PvE, PvP, menu's etc... I was getting pretty good frames too depending on where and what I was doing between 30-90FPS I would say average PvE around 70FPS and in cities with PvP between 30-60FPS. menu module behaviour for menu exit
Hi, I was looking for a way to have a submenu go back to the previous menu when you use Escape inside the submenu. Or to return back to a menu when you return from a com32 entry (eg. kbdmap, hdt or rosh). I had hoped something like this worked: ---- default bootlocal prompt 1 label menu menu hide kernel menu.c32 label bootlocal menu hide localboot -1 menu begin main menu

cft through changes (new tool based on puppet)
I''ve started working on a new tool that should help with modifying the configuration of a system under the control of puppet. The tool is called cft (pronounced ''sift'') and is inspired by Gnome''s Sabayon[1] in taht it watches how an admin changes a system and spits out a puppet manifest based on its observations. Cft''s website is

Menu system bug - MENU DEFAULT not working
Hello, I'm reporting a bug, see attached syslinux.cfg I'm using submenu entries to emulate checkbox inputs. The idea is simple, there are submenus generated for all possible cases, and each Enter keypress loads appropriate submenu section. The logic of the menu is correct. Just syslinux has some bug. It doesn't set MENU DEFAULT properly for all submenus. If your first Enter keypress

submenus and menu title
From http://www.syslinux.org/wiki/index.php/Comboot/menu.c32 *** QUOTE - BEGIN *** MENU BEGIN [tagname] MENU END Begin/end a submenu. The entries between MENU BEGIN and MENU END form a submenu, which is marked with a > mark on the right hand of the screen. About "MENU TITLE" and possible hotkey handling
3.71, using isolinux and simple menu system menu.c32 To avoid having many different menu config files (one for each submenu) I'm trying switching from the once required syntax ==== MENU LABEL > ^Firmware/BIOS KERNEL menu.c32 APPEND menufw.cfg ==== to ==== MENU BEGIN MENU TITLE ^Firmware/BIOS <stuff that was inside menufw.cfg> MENU END ==== However, it's not

SYSLINUX 2.09-pre5 - Menu Depth "Feature"
HPA, I believe I've found a possible bug with /menu. This against the unmodified -pre5 snapshot. SRC: http://www.survivaldisk.com/menutest.c COMPILED: http://www.survivaldisk.com/menutest.com It's easiest explained if you just compile the .c and experience it for yourself, anyways. If you have two submenus nested within each other and then call a third menu it will bring up the

Sabayon hvm domU problems: the Windows Manager doesn't start
Hello, I set up a Sabayon Linux domU as hvm guest and I completed the installation successfully. The problem is that when KDE is going to start, I see a blank screen. I use vncviewer but I don''t think this problem is related to vnc. Then I''ve read the minimal system requirements and I have seen this: 1) i686 Processor (starting from AMD K6 and Intel Pentium II) 2) 512 MB of RAM

rsync --delete isn't deleting files
I had this working on an older version, since 2.6.9 that when I set --delete and --dry-run, I get no "Deleting ******" lines. Also, the --delete-before never worked for me. Working on a space constrained mirror, this has proven very handy, when it works. What's up with the new versions? I haven't changed a thing. Best regards, Tiago Marques

Does anyone know how to do this, I've copied both DD/Arma and Ricky to a directory in my home folder, and try to run it with a command: wine '/home/myaccount/.wine_c/program files/paradox/doomsday/doomsday.exe' But i just get errors saying things like "Can't find country.csv" etc. I had installed both games on my windows machine, and simply copied the install

Major problem with any 3D game.
Hi, I'm having some very nasty problem. Wine works perfectly with normal applications, but when I try to open a game, it does something like this : http://img515.imageshack.us/img515/401/img1388tj7.jpg I have an ATI Mobility X1400 video card with driver version 8.522 (fglrx) I have 3D acceleration on as compiz does work. Wine does this with compiz on/off so it's not because of it. If
