pxelinux server's IP address
Hello, I am experimenting with pxelinux. My setup is currently working. My network card receives IP address from DHCP server, and then it downloads pxelinux.0 and executes it. PXElinux loads its config file ('pxelinux.cfg/default') and is able to download vmlinuz and initrd.gz from TFTP server, and execute vmlinuz. Now the question: is there any way to pass server's IP address as a

Localboot option in syslinux and extlinux
I just tried to boot extlinux off of /dev/sdb and use the option localboot 0x80. I was hoping to see syslinux for the second time as the system loaded the master boot rec from /dev/sda. Why is this option only in pxelinux and isolinux? Nicholas A. Schembri State College PA USA

pxelinux HTTP transport UEFI vmlinuz
Hi, Since which version of pxelinux.0 is understood in pxelinux.cfg/default that kernel http://host.lan/netboot/vmlinuz means vmlinuz should be transported over HTTP? Since which version of pxelinux.0 is it possible to boot on UEFI? Those questions elaborated: What I want is fast netboot UEFI servers. What I'm looking for is an advice which version of PXELINUX between version

Support DHCP sname field in PXELINUX
I have discovered that the JUNOS DHCP server in Juniper J-series routers doesn't support setting the next-server IP address field (I have filed a bug report with Juniper and they are working on it). Instead, it puts the "boot server" in the sname field, which PXELINUX currently ignores. Here's a simple patch (vs. 3.36) that will take an IP string in the field. My assembly is

client hangs on pxelinux
Hi, my client pc hangs on pxelinux before starting to fetch the linux kernel. It hangs after printing the ip information row. No traffic is observed at this point on the network. The pxelinux is transferred to the client through a tftp server and with no problems. What options do I have to proceed from this point and try to find out where the problem is? real serial port output from pxelinux.0
Hello, On a computer with a real serial port do I mis some output. It is 'real serial port' as opposed to virtual hardware. The text that I mis is 'My IP address seems to be' and the decreasing hexadecimal IP-adress staircase. The banner and the copyright message are displayed. pxelinux.cfg/default is fetched and its "SAY command" is shown. Have a look at this

Very slow download with pxelinux > 4.07 on specific hardware
Hi, We only have Dell computers here. We have about 100 optiplex 380. Here is a link to download my wireshark traces : http://dl.free.fr/qgCPEM5Uo In this traces i tested pxelinux and lpxelinux 6.03 on optiplex 740(the one working) and optiplex 380. pxelinux works on both computers but very slowly on 380 as seen in traces. lpxelinux works only on 740. On 380 it seems to enter in a kind of
