syslinux bootsector info?
Mr Anvin,
is there a specific loading address used with the Syslinux bootsector (to load ldlinux.sys)?
like msdos 0x70,
freedos 0x60
we're trying to have a SYS program that can create bootsector for other OS's than FreeDOS only. not much luck though :(
this way I'm trying to avoid the use of syslinux.exe/com
(need the diskspace that it would save by not including this program)

MEMDISK bug in Syslinux 3.10
MEMDISK included in the freshly released Syslinux v3.10 is unfortunately
broken. v3.09 works properly.
Scenario:
Isolinux --> MEMDISK --> FDBOOT.IMG (FreeDOS 360KB diskette image).
Then try to access drive B: , which normally is your first diskette
drive with driveletter A:.
However, in this case MEMDISK occupies A:, and real diskdrive becomes B:
Bug:
when accessing B:, you're asked

I think you mean _enabling_ SG merge if indirect descriptors are not there.

[PATCH] Caching passphrase in ssh-add.
The patch below does two things.
1. If invoked with no arguments, attempt to add both RSA and DSA keys.
2. Remember the last successful passphrase and attempt to use it on
subsequent key files which are added.
Note that the latter part of the patch extends the period of time during
which the passphrase is held in clear text in the ssh-add process, but
doesn't introduce any _new_

Forced Ping or re-registration process for SIP devices or accounts/lines
Sometimes it happens to me that my remote SIP devices become incapable
of receiving calls. This problem is easily fixed powering the hardware
on and off, or reloading the application (when it is a softphone).
I wonder if I can force that procedure from the SIP/Asterisk server
Thanks in advance

Supporting WinImage compressed images
I am using PXELINUX, ISOLINUX, and memdisk in my project
(http://unattended.sourceforge.net/). When memdisk gained support for
compressed images, I started using it because it is cool. I used gzip
to compress floppy.img to create floppy.imz, and all was good.
But now my users are complaining that they cannot use WinImage (a
Windows floppy image editing tool) to edit my floppy.imz files.
I have

SYSLINUX 3.11-pre3 -- release candidate
This is a minor tweak on 3.11-pre2. If nothing new comes up, I will
release this as 3.11 probably early next week.

observe_form without ajax?
This betrays my lack of javascript knowledge, but is it possible to
watch a whole form for changes and activate some javascript when those
changes occur without any remote request?
That is, I want to do exactly what observe_form does, but without the
ajax call actually happening. I realize I could use the form_tag
:onchange parameter, but that seems to be incapable of doing things like

Sure but a lot of people like me are using LLVM precisely because it offers
these wonderful features. As long as your JVM backend does not handle these
features correctly its utility is greatly diminished.

USB 3.0 in qemu-kvm-0.12
I suspect I know the answer here, but is qemu-kvm-0.12 simply incapable
of passing a USB 3.0 device to a guest? USB 2 devices work fine, but
USB 3 -- nothing. USB 3.0 works fine in the host, of course.
Currently using qemu-kvm-0.12.1.2-2.479.el6_7.4.x86_64 in CentOS 6.7.
I'm guessing I have to upgrade to CentOS 7 to pass USB 3.0 devices
to the guest. Hoping to avoid that just now.

Major problems
I am having major problems on one of my file-servers. I have the root
filesystem on an Ext3 software RAID 1 between four SCSI drives. It had been
running for about two months without problems, but today I found it was
having some trouble with unlinked inodes and I/O errors on certain files. I
took it down to single-user mode, and ran fsck on it. That operation mixed
up files like /etc/hosts with

Samba + (LDAP + Kerberos V)
So like at least a handful of people before me I have begun the valiant
stugle to unify logins at my place of business.
I have setup a test LDAP + Kerberos V cluster.
And I have Setup a test Samba 3 PDC.
What I would like to do is get Samba to handle kerberos ticket granting
and authentication to the (LDAP + Kerberos V) Directory. Such that
Windows is completely unaware of the existence of

[LLVMdev] MSIL backend

You're right. Consider we will have some FE for MSIL, which will just
generate LLVM's "call" instruction with some predefined CC, which will
mean "this is virtual call". Backend
