USB Pendrive automounting
My USB Pendrive gets mounted everytime I put it on the USB port (/dev/sda on /media/usbdisk). This behaviour is the desired. Now I want the OS to automaticaly include the mount option iocharset=iso8859-1 everytime it mounts it. Is there a way to tell haldaemon (or other software) do this, instead of hand-editing /etc/fstab ? -- Vilela -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment

USB bootable (using syslinux)
Hello! I just started using Linux and I like the possibilities it offers. I'm using Suse Linux (no MS Windows installed at all). I also discovered that syslinux is capable of making a USB pendrive bootable (with graphic menus). This is very nice. Since I'm a Windows user (up until now), I have some questions: 1 - I already downloaded syslinux 3.82 How do I install it on my pen drive

syslinux 2.10 - boot floppy forgets the boot parameters
Hi, I suspect this bug has already been reported, but here it is just in case: the bootable floppies I produced with syslinux 2.10 (just by running 'syslinux /dev/fd0') are not able to 'remember' the parameters I pass at the boot prompt. Namely, to boot a USB pen from one of my floppies I pass something like boot: MoviX MEDIA=usb (where MoviX is the boot label) but the usb boot

First of all, I had to set the USB drive as a `Managed partition' from the router web GUI. Secondly, its right address was `//192.168.1.2/Shared' and not

A couple of security questions
Hello, I'd like to ask a couple of things: 1) I would like to move from Debian to CentOS. One thing I will probably miss is the debsecan tool. This utility sends me a mail whenever there is a change regarding the vulnerabilities' status on my system. It lists new ones, resolved ones and current ones. Is there anything similar for CentOS? 2) I read that RHEL packages are compiled with

Point is, it doesn't work on my MacBook Pro (Quad-core, 2.66GHz, 8GB), only on BIOS-based PCs. rEFInd show a new "Legacy OS" entry for the pendrive, but after some seconds it shows the "Not found Operating System -- Insert boot disk and press any
