make spotless failure in 3.31
When I build syslinux, I normally do make spotless make but this fails with syslinux-3.31 because of 4 files: ./com32/lib/sys/vesa/.background.o.d ./com32/lib/sys/vesa/.drawtxt.o.d ./com32/lib/sys/vesa/.alphatbl.o.d ./com32/lib/sys/vesa/.initvesa.o.d The .initvesa.o.d has some redhat specific path that does not exist on my system: /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-redhat-linux/4.1.1/include/stdarg.h If

USB Keyboard
Hello, My desktop machine at work was replaced and they gave me a Dell Optiplex GX520 machine to use. When booting from CD-ROM I use isolinux 3.50 and the keyboard does not work. It does work once linux boots, and it works if I hit the F2 to go into bios before isolinux starts. I have searched google and the syslinux archives for 'Optiplex GX520' but have not found any reports of

PATCH: Build floppy image which contains HDT
This patch builds a floppy image with contains HDT, so users of GRUB or GRUB4DOS can use HDT too, without installing Syslinux. When you compile Syslinux, this floppy image isn't build automatically. To build it, runthe following from the extracted Syslinux source: $ cd ./com32/hdt $ make hdt.img As suggested by Pierre-Alexandre Meyer, all extra files required for building the floppy

EFI build problems
Hi, The internal Gnu-EFI build gives me grief: * efi/check-gnu-efi.sh: uses realpath, which is not available on my Debian wheezy system. I now use readlink -f, but wonder if it's needed at all. * efi/build-gnu-efi.sh: uses realpath, like above, and also pushd/popd, which is not built into a standard Bourne shell invoked by #!/bin/sh. Again I wonder what's the point of it, as

Building syslinux 4.04 on a 32bit system
I thougt somebody might like to know - I got a fresh copy of 4.04 from http://www.kernel.org/ - when building on a 32bit system, the build fails at first. I had to do a "make spotless" to get a successful build. make[2]: Entering directory `/home/per/workspace/syslinux-4.04/diag/geodsp' ./mk-lba-img lba.img ./mk-lba-img: ./mk-lba-img: cannot execute binary file make[2]: ***

Syslinux-6.00-pre1
I've just pushed out a 6.00-pre1 release. This release includes support for booting EFI machines. The code is currently in the alpha stage. Having said that, you should expect most things to work correctly, including things like the graphical menu. Please help test if you can, and if you find any bugs, please report them. To facilitate building different versions of syslinux.efi (32-bit and

Introduce kbuild for klibc?
Hi hpa and others. With my ongoing work to prepare for potential integration of klibc in the kernel I wonder if there wold be any interest in using part of the kbuild infrastructure to build the vanilla klibc? The rationale is obvious: - common codebase for Kbuild files, so one only has to fix things in one place - I force klibc developers to create Kbuild files usable in the kernel - Much
