SYSLINUX 2.01-pre1 released
This isn't strictly speaking a SYSLINUX release, it's a change to
MEMDISK and mkdiskimage to allow the creation of hard disk images with
DOSEMU headers. This should make it easier to create bootable DOS hard
disk images under DOSEMU.

SYSLINUX 2.05-pre1 released
Okay, I have finally become convinced that hardware address based config
files should be a standard feature in PXELINUX, so I have added it. I
am a bit worried that it might not work with all DHCP servers (since I'm
trying to do this in a hardware-independent manner), so I'd appreciate
feedback.
This adds one more name to the list of names queried for the config
file, before the IP-based

SYSLINUX 3.50 released
Well, SYSLINUX 3.50 has been in development since September of last year
(it was originally a branch off 3.31), and the diff against 3.36 is
almost 15,000 lines.
I doubt it's going to be bug free, but prereleases can only get you so
far with respect to testing. Thus, it's time to push the button and
getting this thing out into the world.
I hereby announce SYSLINUX 3.50.
Special thanks

SYSLINUX 2.08-pre1 released
Working on fixing lower-priority bugs that I didn't want to risk
destabilizing the 2.07 release for:
Changes in 2.08:
* Add "timeoutcmd" to allow timeout to have a different action
than just pressing Enter.
* Fix bugs in the COMBOOT/COM32 command-line parsing. APPEND
now works with COMBOOT/COM32 images.

SYSLINUX 2.12-pre1 released: initial libcom32 release
Hi all,
I have released SYSLINUX 2.12-pre1. This version has an initial version
of libcom32, a small C library based on klibc for writing com32 programs
in C. It is far from perfect yet, but it should be a lot easier to use
than hand-coding everything.
As usual, find this stuff in:

SYSLINUX 3.70-pre1: development release
Hi all,
I have pushed out a prerelease of one of the development branches (I
currently have three development branches open), 3.70-pre1.
This release revamps a whole lot of internal APIs to support reading
files without knowing their length ahead of time. This is necessary in
order to support network protocols which do not advertise the transfer size.
The immediate user-visible change is

SYSLINUX 3.54-pre1 (bug fix release candidate)
I just uploaded SYSLINUX 3.54-pre1.
This is a release candidate, since it fixes a bug which I considers
significant. As it turns out, the problem with the graphical menu under
Qemu/KVM (requiring -std-vga) was actually an invalid assumption that
SYSLINUX was making, and didn't verify. Fixing the assumption was easy
enough to do, so I have fixed it.
Added is also a new set of menu

SYSLINUX 2.09, 2.10-pre1 released
Hi all,
I have released SYSLINUX 2.09; it is the same as 2.09-pre15 except for
the version number.
Changes in 2.09:
* SYSLINUX: Remove residual setuid crap from
syslinux-nomtools.
* Handle video pages correctly when using the API functions.
* Handle compiling on an x86-64 platform correctly.
* Menu system from Murali Krishnan Ganapathy; see the

SYSLINUX 3.31 released
I have just released SYSLINUX 3.31. It is functionally identical to
SYSLINUX 3.31-pre4.
Changes in 3.31:
* The simple menu system (menu.c32 and vesamenu.c32) now
support loading more than one configuration file at a time,
using MENU INCLUDE or by specifying multiple filenames.
* The MENU COLOR statement can now control the shadowing mode.

Syslinux 4.00 released
After 64 prereleases, 626 commits, 52,742 lines of changes, and tons of
work by many, many people, Syslinux 4.00 is now officially released.
Syslinux 4.00 is the first of a set of major code restructuring
releases. The single biggest new features are btrfs and ext4 support,
and support for disks larger than 2 TiB.

SYSLINUX 1.73-pre1
I have released SYSLINUX 1.73-pre1. This isn't a bug fix release (thank
God), but given the rather painful quality of the last couple of
releases I wanted to get another prerelease out as I'm working on the
new core code.
I'm trying to eliminate differences between the various syslinux
components whereever possible; there has been some unnecessary
differences in the past which

SYSLINUX 3.31-pre3 released
After thinking a bit of the multi-file support in 3.31-pre1, and
considering a few users' feedback on the subject, I have made a couple
of changes:
1. The dummy filename ~ can be used to mean "the main config file".
2. There is a MENU INCLUDE directive now.

SYSLINUX 3.54 released
This is 100% functionally equivalent to 3.54-pre1, with only a few minor
documentation changes.
Changes in 3.54:
* Add "menu separator", "menu indent", "menu disabled"
(see README.menu).
* vesamenu: fix handing of VESA modes with noncontiguous
memory buffers. In particular, Qemu/KVM sets up such a mode
when Cirrus

SYSLINUX 1.67 released
This release is identical to 1.67-pre1. Unfortunately the people who
reported problems with 1.66 never got back to me to indicate if it
solved their problem or not, but since it fixes a real bug, regardless,
I decided to release it as 1.67.

SYSLINUX 3.10-pre1 released; multi-file initramfs support
Hi all,
I have released syslinux-3.10-pre1. This is definitely not a release
candidate; I haven't finished putting the bugs in yet never mind taking
them out (or in manager-speak: it's not feature-complete yet, never mind
debugged.)
However, I figured it'd be interesting as a technology preview.
The main new things are that I am adding support for dynamic initramfs

SYSLINUX 2.04-pre1 released
I just released SYSLINUX 2.04-pre1. I happened to find that due to a
complete miss on my point all the SYSLINUX derivatives were allocating
104K of low memory and never actually used it. It made it a lot more
compelling to blow the memory on buffers necessary to support large
blocks in PXELINUX. I've also resurrected the non-mtools SYSLINUX
installer, although as a root-only installer.

SYSLINUX 2.09-pre1 released
Hi all,
I have put out a SYSLINUX 2.09-pre1 release, mostly to support Murali's
menu development:
Changes in 2.09:
* SYSLINUX: Remove residual setuid crap from
syslinux-nomtools.
* Handle video pages correctly when using the API functions.
* Handle compiling on an x86-64 platform correctly.

Matt Fleming to be doing release management for Syslinux
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Hi all,
I wanted to let everyone know that going forward, Matt Fleming will be
doing at least some of the releases and prereleases for Syslinux.
Other than who pushes the button, there should be little or no change
in how the builds are done, where they are kept and so on.
Thanks Matt!
