PXE Knife Pre-Release
Afternoon everyone,
I thought I'd let you all know I've just finished up the first initial
release of PXE Knife, a utility that makes use of Syslinux to provide a
bunch of utilities that (mostly) come on floppy disks and are a true
pain to try and deal with. The goal is to try and give a normal
sysadmin enough good tools within a pxe boot environment be able to deal
with a number of

Is There an Alternative to MEMDISK ?
This isn't an esp urgent issue, but I'd like to use a certain RAM diagnostic (Doc Mem) which I've already posted a note about a couple of months ago. Simply won't work booting the floppy disk image via MEMDISK. In the interim, I've tried to resolve this by changing things on my side. I'm pretty sure it's a XMS incompatibility, as it fails differently depending on

Hey
I would be happy to maintain such a thing but I would need someone as a backup.
Cheers Didi

Extlinux support makes Fedora's mkinitrd
Hey all,
Just thought I'd give a quick shout out across the mailing list that it
looks like Extlinux support got merged into Fedora's mkinitrd, which I
believe is in time for Fedora 11. This apparently isn't my full patch
series (which if anyone cares can be found at:
http://git.kernel.org/?p=boot/warthog9/mkinitrd-syslinux.git;a=summary )
since it's missing the Extlinux

Problem with menu.c32
It looks like there's a bug in menu.c32, specifically dealing with the
number of times you change menu pages. When a total (including the
default load) of 28-29 loads of menu.c32 occurs the whole system will
hang (ctrl+alt+del doesn't do anything). Looks like it's a problem
concerning the number of file handles or something along those lines.
The easiest way to duplicate the

PXELINUX hanging when booting floppy images
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
I am trying to create a PXE setup with floppy images for all needed
utilities - for example, BIOS flash for various motherboards, disk
diagnostic tools, memtest86+, etc.
I've gotten memtest86+ to work (using the .bin), and some of the disk
images work - however, some disk images will not boot. All of the images
were pulled from working, bootable

Help with PLSR with jack knife
Hi
I am analysing a dataset of 40 samples each with 90,000 intensity measures for
various peptides. I am trying to identify the Biomarkers (i.e. most significant
peptides). I beleive that PLS with jack knifing, or alternativeley
CMV(cross-model-validation) are multivariateThe 40 samples belong to four
different groups.
I have managed to conduct the plsr using the commands:

Hello
What I'm trying to get at is this -- I'd like to analyze and
understand what softwares that was used to build a library of
softwares that made it as UBCD 4.x. This way, I would be able to use
UBCD as a model to build customized ITS apps to be used for campus
tech work.
Is there some kind of step-by-step or user guide that explains how to
build everything from scratch and what softwares

memtest86+.. How do I load it with pxelinux?
I've just spent at least half an hour swapping files, downloading things
and stuffing around with memtest86 and memtest86+. I can't get either to
start from pxelinux.
Currently I have "memtest86" as the filename, and i'm trying to load it
direct (not trying to use memdisk or anything). This just results in a
near instant reboot.
Am I doing something wrong? I can't

Remotely Wipe Hard Drive
Looks like I can't install syslinux's bootloader on an ntfs partition?
What I'd like to do is remotely setup a bootloader to wipe the hard
drive contents on old assets.
I was kind of hoping, that I could install syslinux on a remote
workstation, and then throw a dban
image and the corresponding menu and syslinux.cfg files on the remote
workstation and then reboot it
and have the

Problem with "force create mode" et. al.
Hi, folks. I've got a weird situation here. I'm sure it's something
small, but, well, either I've been cursed by a witch doctor, or my
eyesight is getting too bad to find small problems.
Either way, I'm more than willing to be pummeled for asking such a
stupid question, as long as it helps me get it solved.
I'm replacing an NT file server with a Samba box (hooray!).

sub menus / multiple distros on usb key w/ syslinux
being a complete novice with syslinux, I was hoping someone here could
help me out.
I have a USB Key that I have "broken" into two areas. General storage in
the "back" and space for several live distributions on the front. What I
need to do now is figure out how to make a syslinux.cfg file that would
let me pick which one to boot at startup time.
Basically, I want a menu

MEMDISK El Torito Emulation
A very special thanks to H. Peter for finding the time to [at least
partially, if not wholly] scrutinize and merge the El Torito emulation
code for MEMDISK!
I'd like to ask that those who've previously used the stale MEMDISK-ISO
switch to this latest[1] MEMDISK proper and report any failures.
Gert, I believe this version addresses the PloP .ISO trouble you
reported. Could you

ListCtrl help
Is there any sample code around that sorts a virtual listctrl?
I have loaded data into a ListCtrl and set things up so that if I
click on a column heading on_col_left_click(event) gets called and it
in turn sorts / reverses the sort of that column. I am printing out
the data for debugging purposes so I know that my internal data
representation is getting sorted but I nothing is getting
