PXE Knife 0.0.2 released
Based on the initial feedback and bug reports concerning PXE Knife 0.0.1
I've made some updates, fixed a few programs that didn't work and
cleaned things up a bit so that cd iso's could be created - thus was
born PXE Knife 0.0.2.
This will be the first release that will be broadcast more widely than
the syslinux mailing list, but I still welcome feedback, bug reports or
anything

Is There an Alternative to MEMDISK ?
This isn't an esp urgent issue, but I'd like to use a certain RAM diagnostic (Doc Mem) which I've already posted a note about a couple of months ago. Simply won't work booting the floppy disk image via MEMDISK. In the interim, I've tried to resolve this by changing things on my side. I'm pretty sure it's a XMS incompatibility, as it fails differently depending on

Extlinux support makes Fedora's mkinitrd
Hey all,
Just thought I'd give a quick shout out across the mailing list that it
looks like Extlinux support got merged into Fedora's mkinitrd, which I
believe is in time for Fedora 11. This apparently isn't my full patch
series (which if anyone cares can be found at:
http://git.kernel.org/?p=boot/warthog9/mkinitrd-syslinux.git;a=summary )
since it's missing the Extlinux

Problem with menu.c32
It looks like there's a bug in menu.c32, specifically dealing with the
number of times you change menu pages. When a total (including the
default load) of 28-29 loads of menu.c32 occurs the whole system will
hang (ctrl+alt+del doesn't do anything). Looks like it's a problem
concerning the number of file handles or something along those lines.
The easiest way to duplicate the

Help with PLSR with jack knife
Hi
I am analysing a dataset of 40 samples each with 90,000 intensity measures for
various peptides. I am trying to identify the Biomarkers (i.e. most significant
peptides). I beleive that PLS with jack knifing, or alternativeley
CMV(cross-model-validation) are multivariateThe 40 samples belong to four
different groups.
I have managed to conduct the plsr using the commands:

PXE boot problem
I must be making some silly mistake. I can get the pxelinux.0 file to load,
but cannot get the config file to load.
I keep getting the message that it is trying to load a file from
pxelinux.cfg.
I have checked all the file permissions and other instructions. The
tftpserver is running on Fedora 5.
I have tried to load pxelinux on 2 completely different computers without
success.

PXE booting dos
Using memlinux I have been able to PXE boot an image I created from one
of our DOS boot floppies. It works quite well.
I am unable to figure out how to build a larger disk image however. It
appears you can use a 2880k floppy without having to pass special
options. My attempts so far have failed.
Has anyone done this before? I would like to convert the working disk
image I have (1.4 meg) to a

[PXELINUX]A PXE booting question, please
Hi all,
I was trying to install Red Hat Linux 7.3 on my computer through network
install. I had setup TFTP server and Linux network install server. DHCP
server is ready as well. The ROM of onboard network card was enabled,
the chip on the card is Realtek R8111B.
Everything was fine at the booting stage, machine got the IP and booted
up with the pxelinux, then kernel vmlinuz and initrd.img

sub menus / multiple distros on usb key w/ syslinux
being a complete novice with syslinux, I was hoping someone here could
help me out.
I have a USB Key that I have "broken" into two areas. General storage in
the "back" and space for several live distributions on the front. What I
need to do now is figure out how to make a syslinux.cfg file that would
let me pick which one to boot at startup time.
Basically, I want a menu

ListCtrl help
Is there any sample code around that sorts a virtual listctrl?
I have loaded data into a ListCtrl and set things up so that if I
click on a column heading on_col_left_click(event) gets called and it
in turn sorts / reverses the sort of that column. I am printing out
the data for debugging purposes so I know that my internal data
representation is getting sorted but I nothing is getting

grid control example doesn''t work on osx.4
Hi,
I am trying to use wxruby2-preview (0.0.38) on my intel macbook
running os10.4.8. I am having a beast of a time running the examples
in the tutorials. The super basic frame example worked but the
simple grid tutorial bombs with the following message:

lavaan: how to analyse residuals of a latent variable
Hi r-help,
I use lavaan:sem() for structural equation modelling with latent
variables. Below is a reproducible example (the code requires a
working installation of lavaan) where the latent variable criminality
is in focus. Besides criminality in general, I am specifically
interested one of the manifest variables that make up the latent
variable criminality, namely fire.setting.
My question is:
