[PATCH 2/2] bios: Don't try to guess the sections alignment
From: Sylvain Gault <sylvain.gault at gmail.com> For the compression / decompression to succeed, the sections layout must be the same between the virtual memory and load memory. The section alignment was kept in sync by introducing aligment that should be greater or equal to the actual section alignment. This patch compute the load memory addresses of the sections so that the layout is the

[PATCH 2/4] Remove unused linker scripts
From: Sylvain Gault <sylvain.gault at gmail.com> Some linker scripts were splitted into i386 and x86_64 versions in commit d8eede3f2a360163235fad222a0190cd7c5bef38 but older scripts were left there. [GIT PULL] elflink bug fixes
Hi Peter, Please pull the following changes. Paulo, I had to revert your "pxe: resolve names via DNS from protected-mode code" change because dns_resolv() is only implemented for PXELINUX and causes undefined symbol references for ISOLINUX, etc. Feel free to make the change again on top of the revert. The following changes since commit e7bd19def830e8341b1a100956345f1028740b9e:

[GIT PULL] elflink fixes
Hi Peter, The main part of this pull request includes commits that try to replace as many __intcall() invocations as possible. Some remain, but not many (and eventually they'll be gone too). There's also a patch to make better use of ld's --as-needed option and various other bug fixes/cleanups. The following changes since commit ff7334a2ce536b7f4b1f6d6f93ff4e285a3bd45a: Only

[PATCH] build: sort sources to build in a more deterministic way
It has been observed that binaries contents are depending on the order of linked objects. This order is caused by GNU make's wildcard function and the position of sources on filesystem. This change tries to prevent this kind of randomness. Also consider building using -j1 flag to make it even more reproductible. Change-Id: Ie8eee7f336e6f1fa2863c4150d967afd15519f1d Bug:

malloc in libcom32 broken?
I get a link error when trying to call malloc from libcom32. I tried to simplify the case by adding the malloc to the sample hello.c in the modules directory, but I still get the following error: ld -m elf_i386 -T ../lib/com32.ld -o hello.elf hello.o ../libutil/libutil_com.a ../lib/libcom32.a /usr/lib64/gcc-lib/x86_64-suse-linux/3.3.3/32/libgcc.a ../lib/libcom32.a(malloc.o)(.text+0x13): In

YASP (Yet Another Samba Problem)
When I attmept to mount a PC (W2K) share via my fstab, I get the following error message on the mount: "Unknown parameter encountered 'file'" Truth be told , samba is becoming more and more frustrating. The only thing I have been able to successfully do is to make visible my NFS mount point across my file server to my W2K machine. I am running SuSE 9.1, Samba 3.02a Enclosed is

Including 'detect_cpu' in libcom32.a ?
Okay, if one installs syslinux, the declaration for 'detect_cpu' is in com32/include/cpuid.h, but the actual function code isn't available in libcom32.a. It's only available as source down in the com32/modules/ directory, and not actually installed anywhere. Shouldn't 'detect_cpu' be included in libcom32.a? -- Dr. William R. libcom32 license and linking
Peter- Can you please clarify the license of libcom32, from the samples directory in syslinux? I am attempting to create .c32 files that are not encumbered by the GPL, but the conio.c file states that is is covered by the GPL. So far, I have resisted linking with libcom32.a, but is it really your intent to license the library code under GPL, and not something more like the LGPL?

SYSLINUX 2.12-pre1 released: initial libcom32 release
Hi all, I have released SYSLINUX 2.12-pre1. This version has an initial version of libcom32, a small C library based on klibc for writing com32 programs in C. It is far from perfect yet, but it should be a lot easier to use than hand-coding everything. As usual, find this stuff in: ftp://ftp.kernel.org/pub/linux/utils/boot/syslinux/Testing/ -hpa

[PATCH] com32: Include .init_array section in .ctors in linker script
From: Matt Fleming <matt.fleming at intel.com> GCC 4.7 now places pointers to functions with the 'constructor' and 'destructor' function attributes in .init_array and .fini_array sections, respectively, whereas previously they were in the .ctors and .dtors sections. This change breaks the ctors/dtors code as it only expects function to be in the .ctors and .dtors sections,

issues with SSOAP when wsdl has ComplexTypes
I recently started trying R and SSOAP and was able to successfully try a "hello world" service. I am now trying to get a more complicated interface to work with SSOAP and so far failed miserably at that and so need any help I can get from here. The service I am attaching is a prototype for a full service that would take information to identify a data source and a query to run and return

[PATCH 0/4] Improve linker scripts
From: Sylvain Gault <sylvain.gault at gmail.com> These patches basically remove unused linker scripts and port a change that was made to an unused script. Those are to be applied on top of the gcc 5 bug fixes as they would conflict otherwise. [PATCH 0/2] Fixes for gcc 5
From: Sylvain Gault <sylvain.gault at gmail.com> TL;DR: The section aligment in linker scripts messed-up the memory mapping needed for the compression / decompression to work. The bug with gcc 5 is not trivial, I'll do my best to explain it here. Basically, there are two memory mappings of the code. One in "virtual memory", and one in "load memory". The one in
