truncated files on write with tftpd-hpa
I've been seeing a problem lately that I thought I'd run by this list to
see if it's familiar to anyone.
We've been running tftpd from tftp-hpa (at first version 0.29, but
recently version 0.34) on DigitalUNIX 4.0F, serving files off of an NFS
filesystem (from a very busy server).
The daemon is started as:
/noc/bin/tftpd -v -p -l -m /noc/etc/tftp.filename-translations \

tftp trouble
I am trying to tftp from a cisco router on my lan, but it is not
working. All I see are these errors in the log. I can "tftp
localhost" without a problem as well. Any suggestions on what I can
check next? I don't see too much troubleshooting available search via
google.
Thanks.

HDT & DMI updates
Thanks for pointing this out.
Applied in 3b3bc3675519e1530adab27480196eb3f1a458bc
Note that I've been adding some code in that branch to support the tftp WRQ
from libupload when running with lpxelinux.

tftp times out
tftp keeps timing out when I try to transfer files. I intend to use tftp with G4U to clone
a standard workstation. I am testing it between two Dell poweredge servers running CentOS
4.3. "chkconfig --list |grep tftp" shows tftp up and running on both boxes. When connected
"tftp>status" shows it is talking to the other box
"tptp>trace" shows "sent WRQ

Compiling OpenSSH with OpenSSL-fips 0.9.8o on Windows
My office is currently using WRQ Reflections as it was FIPS compliant.
But this option is an expense that we'd like to get rid of if
possible. Putty is not an option for us since it uses it's own
OpenSSL libs and we need it FIPS enabled. I've been able to build
OpenSSL 0.9.8o and enable the fipcanister.lib and create the openssl
executables and libraries. I've been able to find

HDT & DMI updates
Hi folks,
I've been off for a pretty long time and I'm trying to resume a little bit.
While testing HDT I found some serious bugs in HDT's CLI mode but also took
the time to update the DMI detection tables.
Please find my hw_update branch which is in sync with the current git tree.

Hi Matt,
I think I've found the problem.
In /core/fs/pxe/tftp.c in function tftp_open:
First you do a core_udp_connect to port 69 (TFTP) at line 264. -> source port = x

Changed md5sums on a bare-bones install. Logical explanation?
I'm new to this list, so feel free to update me on any rules
that I seem not to be familiar with.
I'm looking at some strange behavior on a _very_ barebones
installation. I'd like to get some feedback on possible
logical explanations.
* What I'm seeing: The md5sum of all of my binaries in
/usr/bin and /usr/sbin are changing exactly one hour
after installation of CentOS-4.3.

Samba 4.9.4 - high RAM usage - OOM killer
Hi,
We upgraded a legacy (NT4) domain from 3.6 series to 4.8 and then 4.9.4
samba version (using sernet subscription packages / debian stable)
The setup is composed of 4 DCs with each 2 CPU/16GB RAM.
We currently have ~700 user accounts / ~600 computers / ~150 groups
Our mail setup, SSO, ... query the 4 DCs constantly.
Every 5 to 10 days the RAM consumption and CPU usage (due to kswapd)

OpenVMS SSH password expiry woes continue
I sent in a patch a week or so ago for a problem a customer of mine was
seeing when trying to connect to their OpenVMS system with an 3.8.1p2
OpenSSH client (running on a linux box or in cygwin) and trying to login to
an account who had an expired password.
The problem continues although now it has nothing to do with what my patch
handled as they have since upgraded their SSH software on the VMS
