Centos 8 Postfix & Cyrus
Everyone, I have had two e-mail servers running, one with Centos 6 and the other with Centos 7 using sendmail, dovecot, spamassassin, clamd, and cclamav-milter without hardly any problems after the initial setup. My expertise should be considered not much more than beginner or early intermediate. I would like to create a hypervisor with Centos 8 and run a guest Centos 8 with postfix and cyrus.

Username with dots
Hi, There is a way to allow usernames with dots like firstname.lastname. On Red hat 7.3 it was possible, but after Fedora 1 it was blocked. How this could be changed? Thanks, -- Cleber P. de Souza

postfix, cyrus-imapd and ldap limitation
I'm gonna remove the user name which is actually 1 character shorter than 'username' ... I have a client with a somewhat long domain name... myhomelenders.net I am using LDAP and the primary mail address is in an ldap attribute called 'mail' and that is working fine. I also use an ldap attribute called 'mailLocalAddress' for storing aliases and those have been

OpenLDAP rules
Hi list. Maybe this could be off-topic but here I think many have used OpenLDAP to unify yours authentication needs, allowing an unique username and password for all the corporate applications. My doubt is, which rules do you use to split all the user levels so that one user could be allowed to access app A but isn't allowed to access app B (think this about many apps)? Have you been using

FreeBSD, Postfix, Cyrus SASL, Dovecot IMAP, SquirrelMail, Active Directory
Here's an update to my configuration. I'm able to use Cyrus SASL to enable SMTP AUTH in PostFix, validate user's mail addresses in Active Directory, and store mail in maildir on FreeBSD. I am currently able to authenticate AD users with Dovecot and LDAP, but I'm getting the following error in the log: Error: IMAP(user at domain): Ambiguous mail location setting, don't know

Large scale Postfix/Cyrus email system for 100,000+ users
I'm trying to set up a large scale email system that supports 100,000+ IMAP accounts. We have an existing frontend web interface that does a lookup on a mysql db to figure out which IMAP server to connect to for each user. For the email infrastructure we have decided on Postfix and Cyrus. We have configured both to use mysql to get the virtual user information. Because of the way that the

postfix - killed by signal 11 - debug help
Any suggestions to help me troubleshoot a "killed by signal 11" problem with Postfix? I've Googled and fiddled, but cannot figure it out. I have no idea where to look/start. Based on this post, Wietse suggests this type of problem happens when there compiled with different libraries. I tried ldd on various programs and found they all seemed to line up, but I know little.

Imap daemons for CentOS 6 (other then cyrus-imapd)
Are there any imap daemons (besides cyrus-imapd). cyrus-imapd is appearently not compatible with postfix + procmail. I need an imap daemon that will work with a postfix + procmail system. -- Robert Heller -- 978-544-6933 Deepwoods Software -- Custom Software Services http://www.deepsoft.com/ -- Linux Administration Services heller at deepsoft.com -- Webhosting

Install Guide for PostFix (with DoveCot, SquirrelMail, MailScanner, ClamAV) on CentOS-4
Ok, I have been working (for quite a while) on an install guide for PostFix (with DoveCot, SquirrelMail, MailScanner, ClamAV) on CentOS-4. A full install is part 1 (Postfix / Dovecot / Cyrus-Sasl), Part 3 (SquirrelMail) and Part 4 (MailScanner, Spam Assassin, ClamAV). I am still working on Part 2 (Postfix / Cyrus-Imap / Cyrus-Sasl). It will go with Part 3 and Part 4 (same as above) to get a

Postfix relay on Comcast
How to get postfix working on CentOS 6 and Comcast. Recently, they've changed their policies regards email relay and require authentication even to send email. (they no longer use IP address ranges, presumably in an attempt to curb outgoing SPAM) I didn't see an updated howto anywhere on the Interwebs, thought I'd point out what I had to do. The part that had me stumped for longer

Lmtp between hosts? (postfix/dovecot/ldap)
I have 2 hosts: (a) - dovecot-1.0.5-6 - postfix-2.4.5-20 -> It's not the mx record for the domain, just holds the mailboxes -> Postfix uses LDAP for user lookup, dovecot too. -> Works ok if I set it to be the final mail destination, with Cyrus and Dovecot LDA (mailbox_transport). -> Has no domain associated (dns) with this ip address (b) - postfix-2.3.2-28 -> Has the mx record
