non-bootable dvd image
Hi all; I downloaded the centos 4.3 image onto my linux box and used k3b to burn a DVD iso image. It seemed to work fine. I have an SuSE laptop and I want to setup a CentOS VM via Vmware 5.5 If I insert the dvd and boot the new vm I get 'no operating system found' It seems to be a non-bootable dvd. Is there something additional I need to do when burning the dvd image to make it

Creating a DVD with bootable ISOs
Hi All, My question is: Is it possible to make a DVD-R/DVD+R with a boot menu so that you could select a particular bootable ISO on the DVD, and boot into that distro? Asked another way, is it possible to boot an ISO burned as an ISO9660 file on CD or DVD media? If it is, how can this be accomplished? TIA, Andrew.

bootable dvd
Is it possible to use isolinux to create a bootable dvd? I have a .iso that boots fine from cd but not from dvd. I have a Dell OptiPlex GX240 with dvd/cd drive. Dont know for sure if the bios requires an update to boot dvd. Any info would be appreciated. bootable dvd
I want to make a bootable DVD and nothing I read works. The syslinux.cfg seems to be the most important. I get most of my info from www.syslinux.com of course and Arch linux's page. Nothing seems to work. I am using fedora codre 17 right now. Bill

Making a bootable Win7 DVD from an ISO
I would like to create a bootable DVD containing Win7 from an official Microsoft ISO that I have on a CentOS-6.5 box. Is this even possible? If so then how is it done using CentOS? If I must create a Win7 repair disk on a Windows machine then this will be possible, but somewhat logistically challenging. I would much rather just get it done with the tools I have to hand. -- ***

[LLVMdev] Intrinsics __readeflags and __writeeflags
I don't know enough about LLVM CodeGen to answer your questions. I'm just curious. What is the intended level of support for these intrinsics? Are they for reading ALU flags like CF, OF, etc, or for seldom changed control flags like TF and AC? Even DF is typically scratch, and could be used for an -Oz memmove lowering for example. I don't think LLVM will ever really support

Samba stuck!
Hi I wonder if you can help me. I'm currently studying Networking as a college course and one of the challenges we have been set is to research, then put into practice the mapping of a linux server onto a Windows NT server. I'll be honest with you, I'm very new to all this so I hope I explain this correctly. I have successfully created my own smb.conf file, usernames, areas and a

[LLVMdev] Intrinsics __readeflags and __writeeflags
This intrinsic seems very ill-defined, apparently it can be freely reordered and does _not_ act like a compiler barrier. [1] Other than source compatibility, why would one want this intrinsic? What semantics is it supposed to give? [1] < http://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/details/691456/-readeflags-intrinsic-can-be-reordered-by-the-compiler > On Tue, Dec 17, 2013 at 11:00

how to prevent "blinking" when adding an element with an effect
Hi, I add a div to my document and use an effect to make it apear gracefully. Unfortunatly, when adding the element, the element apears shortly, then the effect (slideDown) lets it apear nicely - so the page flickers abit - What is the best practice to avoid it? Cheers, Ron

[Slightly OT] Use CentOS to create a bootable Mac OS X DVD from dmg file?
Hi, Sorry if this is only half-CentOS-related. In my office, I'm running CentOS on all my systems (server, workstation, laptop, sandbox PCs). A colleague brought me her MacBook Pro to upgrade it from OS X 10.5.7 to 10.11.6. I downloaded the 5.8 GB dmg file and now I wonder how to create a bootable DVD with this using only Linux tools. 1. Can I simply burn this as a data DVD with K3B? 2.

[LLVMdev] Assertion failed after my storeRegToStackSlot/loadFromStackSlot
Hi Dmitriy, As you've seen our current spill code assumes that spill/reloads are single instructions. I think the best way to work around this is to introduce load/store pseudo-instructions and expand these after register allocation. Cheers, Lang. Subsetting row in single column matrix drops names in resulting vector
The problem is that the drop is only applied (or not) after the subsetting, so what R does is: - Getting the subset, which means a 1 x 1 matrix. - Only then It either returns that as is (when drop=FALSE), or removes ALL dimensions of extent 1, regardless of whether these are rows or columns (or higher dimensions). And it can't keep any names, because what name should be returned? The name
