yum updates
Hey all...just curious if anyone has ever run into any trouble using yum for updates..
anything at all? just curious.
I use it all the time...finds the dependencies and never had any real issues.
just curious how you would downgrade a package though if that option is even at all available or not.

Cranked Online BMX Magazine
You have been selected to receive this message because of your interest
in BMX.
http://w3.one.net/~thunder
We are starting a new web site called Cranked Online BMX Magazine.
Currently there are only a few links and a chat room (which seems to
work really well). In the near future we plan to add a track directory,
product reviews, pro interviews, photo shoots, etc.
Now is the time we need to

Screwed up my iptables firewall
I have a server that I screwed up iptables on. Now when the server
restarts it locks up trying to apply the firewall rules.
How can I remove the rules (set to all ACCEPT) in a linux rescue mode or
knoppix or other way of getting to the file system?
Any suggestions how to fix this?
Thanks,
James

Sambafax - which windows PS driver works? & other options?
Hi All,
I have a nicely working samba/cups print server working and have sambafax
http://www.purpel3.com/sambafax/ installed and working to a certain extent.
The problem i have is that no matter what post script driver I use on the
windows end, the ps2ascii line in the sambafax cups backend scripts seems to
not be able to change back to the original readable text and thus fails

Windows PC PostScript printer driver -> CUPS data import fails
Hi all,
For some years now I have been using a simple system I found online which
allows me to easily import data from Windows Programs.
Hopefully others out there are using the system and already have found the
answer to my problem.
I have installed on my Centos server a virtual CUPS printer which receives a
PS file, and then runs 'ps2pdf' and 'pdftotext -layout' to end up

eps embedded fonts again
Dear friends,
I am sorry, I again rise that boring question about font embedding in
EPS figure.
I found some discussions on this topic but there were no strait solution.
The publisher (AIP) demands submission of separate EPS file
for each figure with all fonts embedded in it (even the standard
14 Adobe fonts).
As I understand the R does not do this embedding. It inserts only
comments what font

the huge postscript plot
Hi,
I'm just wondering how I can do to make a huge postscript plot be
manageable. My question is that I have to draw around 60,000 points which
makes it painfully slow to print or view in gv or put it into latex
document, though it is very fast to produce the postscript file.
A simple example is in the attachment.
Well, I found that if I use png or jpeg. It is much faster to view

Wine Opens Everything by Default
Hi,
Recently after downloading Wine and trying to open files, Wine has been opening everything by default.
For example, when I used to open Pictures it used to use one of Linux's image viewers like Gwenview. However, after downloading Wine it's been using Wine, then opens up Internet Explorer, and then opens up the picture.
The same goes for text files. When I try to open a text file,

Hello Producers
"Longevity of Support" is an attractive drawcard for CentOS if it means
the exact opposite of Fedora's "short support cycle" that does not
provide updating of infrastructural libraries for very long, libraries
which newer versions of applications (like Firefox, Thunderbird, Opera
etc) depend on and which wont install unless the libraries are also

AudioCodes MP-104 MGCP?
Greetings;
We are trying to get Asterisk up and happy at our site-we tried VOIP
using Sphere about a year ago, spent a *boodle* on expensive hardware
and services from a local "expert", but it never was happy.
I'm brand-spanking new at VOIP, and I've learned a *ton* getting
Asterisk breathing in the last couple of days. I have three Polycom
Soundpoint IP 500 SIP phones, which
