RIS UNDI
Hello, I'm still trying to setup RIS (Remote Installation Service -w2k) with PXE Linux, but before that I must say that the mail list archive is a _good_ idea. Back to RIS. When I start from pxelinux memdisk initrd=risbootdisk.img I get an error: No UNDI Driver found. The risbootdisk.img is a bootdisk from Microsoft, which starts a RIS installation. When I boot from floppy it works fine,

RIS and PXELINUX
Hi folks, I'm finally tired of dealing with floppy disks to control our remote installs and thought that PXELINUX sound like a great way to go. However, I've got multiple hurdles and I'd like some advice before I get myself dug in too deep... We currently have Solaris Jumpstart and Windows RIS running in the department and now we would like to intermix Linux PXELINUX booting. Any

Samba 3 as PDC and a Windows 2000 Server for RIS
Hello, I would like to install a Windows 2000 Server and configure it with RIS (remote installation services). The server is in a domain where a Samba 3 server, a machine with SuSE Linux and Samba 3.0.20b-3.4-SUSE, plays the PDC role. The PDC works well. When I try to configure RIS in the application wizard (appwiz.cpl) of that Windows 2000 Server machine, it tells me that the setup for RIS

syslinux PXE boot version upgrade, network no longer working
Hardware with issue is a Lenovo T410 (circa 2007?): SysLinux PXE boot (pxelinux.0) version 2009 - PXE boot works, select Ghost from PXE menu, PC-DOS loads, Ghost.exe runs and networking is working for Ghostcast/peer to peer. SysLinux PXE boot (pxelinux.0) version 2014 - PXE boot works, select Ghost from PXE menu, PC-DOS loads, Ghost.exe runs and networking is NOT working for Ghostcast/peer to

Using PXELINUX with Windows 2000 DHCP and TFTP
I noticed some links and suggestions on the SYSLINUX web site that reference how to run TFTP on Windows 2000 Server. Two of them suggest installing RIS, and one of them points to a third-party utility. I don't need to install RIS, because I don't want to run Windows setup over PXE. (In fact, I want to use PXELINUX to boot a DOS floppy and run Symantec Ghost to deploy an image.) Also, I

probs running stuff from initrd
Hello all Now I may be way of whack here, so please forgive me. I''m trying to merge xen with redhat''s config-netboot. The idea being a kinda stateless domU. For those that haven''t seen you share a rootfs and then bind mount all the individual files over then top, and the redhat gui builds all the pxeboot config and stuff for you if you want a diskless client. PXELinux over Ris server
Having the same trouble that Mark ( http://www.zytor.com/pipermail/syslinux/2002-March/000244.html) had over a test platform I have here. Having a redhat 7.3 with dhcp V3.0rc12 and atftp (0.6.2) on a local small hub and a W2k Server with RIS installed. If I stop binlsvc on nt server my network boot run ok to pxelinux, but as soon as binlsvc is started, RIS server always respond over my local

Node or site.pp for global variables without dynamic lookup
Hi all, I am working on rewriting my entire puppet environment and try to ''fix'' ''Dynamic lookup'' as it will be deprecated in some time, but even after reading quite some docs and on the forum, it''s not really clear to me. What I have read so far, is that each variable must be fully-qualified or parameterized in a class. As a quick

Windows Installation..
I guess this really isnt the right place to be posting this it's probably the best place for me to find the answer. I would like to know if any of you are doing windows 2000/2003 installs over PXE and if so how you had it setup. I've done some searching on google and mostly found info about somthing called RIS or RAS or whatever.... it required a windows box and thats not a option.. I

[LLVMdev] Any plans to add LLVM support for ARM EH EABI ?
I am new to LLVM but have perused the code alongside using llvm-gcc and CLANG to build ARM EABI objects. Based on this superficial analysis it appears that LLVM currently does not support the ARM Exception Handling ABI (as defined under the EABI). Can anyone comment on whether plans are in place to remedy this? I did see the discussion regarding work on the MC for ARM. Will this work include

PXELINUX with all-Windows DHCP/TFTP servers?
Hello... I have PXELINUX working nicely on FreeBSD, but I have exactly zero experience with Windows Server. What I would like to do is: Have PXE client connect to Windows DHCP server to get value "filename pxelinux.0" Have PXE client connect to Windows TFTP server to download pxelinux.0, display, pxelinux.cfg/default, memdisk, and appropriate initrd files (really bootable floppy

number of ticks in a persp() plot
Hi, I am trying to specify four ticks (at 0,1,2,3 for the y axis) in a persp plot but the defaults overrule my specification and I obtain seven of them. Is it possible to gain full control over them in such a plot? Here is my code: matlines=matrix(c(1:7,3:9,3:9,2:8),nrow=7,ncol=4)

Interesting PXE server setup question
While this is not a problem with CentOS I am hoping to solve the situation using a CentOS machine. For anyone not interested I am sorry to clutter your mail box. For everyone else any ideas or suggestions are welcome. A bit of background: We have an application that runs only in DOS 6.22 at the moment that we would like to run on all of our desktop computers each time they boot up. Our
