Grandstream GSX-2000 - dead :-(
I have a Grandstream GSX-2000 with ..
Software Version: Program-- 1.0.0.3 Bootloader-- 1.0.0.3
I tried to do an HTTP update from the Grand Stream web site...
After half an hour, I recycled power and now its dead... LED's come on
and stay on, screen and buttons are dead. Connectivity to
Grandstream.com was always good - whenever I checked (I downloaded the

VMWare GSX Server and CentOS
Has anyone had experience (good or bad) with VMWare GSX Server running
CentOS as a VM under high load?
Here is the situation. We are planning on rolling out some new boxes to
replace an existing box. Currently this box (Sun V860) is running web
services, database services, mail for students, and is an instructional box
for compiling code, and web scripting among other things.
We are planning on

libvirt and VMWare Workstation Shared Server mode (of GSX history)
Hi everyone,
I searched previous postings and I couldn't find a definitive answer on
this..
I run a small lab of RHEL/Centos Based servers on which there's VMWare
Workstation running on a non-standard port but still manageable by tools
like VMrun (and the Fusion of Workstation GUI, of course).
I'm trying to use virsh with this setup and getting the following error

etherboot 5.3.14 and pxelinux keyboard problem
Hello PXE folk,
I mentioned in another thread that I had problems finding an etherboot
that actually works with a 486 and Realtek 8019/NE2000 card. Etherboot
worked up until v 5.3.5-mc1 with the ne driver but then stopped working
between 5.3.7 to 5.3.13 (anoying since 5.3.7 started supporting
PXELINUX. But then I downloaded 5.3.14 and it seems to work again with
the ne driver (finally

GrandStream GSX-2000 strangeness
I have a really baffling problem.
A couple of months ago I purchased a pair of GrandStream GSX-2000 phones for
use with Asterisk.
At first all was well. But recently I've noticed terrible sound quality
problems. Basically the sound will "glitch" or stutter randomly from time to
time.
Now, what is interesting is that this happens even with the phone totally
disconnected from any

"sector read error" with 3.20-pre8 syslinux.com
Hi All,
A colleague of mine is using syslinux-3.20-pre8, syslinux.com, under
DOS to install syslinux loader. It gives "sector read error". He
re-compiled syslinux.com under a linux box, and used it successfully
to install the loader from DOS. He is installing it on a hard drive (C:)
He booted from a floppy and ran: "syslinux.com C:" at A:\ prompt
He tried with

SYSLINUX 3.11-pre8 -- release candidate
I have released SYSLINUX 3.11-pre8; this is a release candidate.
The differences versus -pre6 is that I have reverted the PXELINUX stack
changes I did in SYSLINUX 3.10 since there are confirmed reports that
they break at least one platform.
As before, I hope to release 3.11 on Tuesday unless I get objections.

SYSLINUX 3.70-pre8
I have just pushed out SYSLINUX 3.70-pre8. The two main differences is
that I have updated the gPXE source base, and added a sanboot module
(sanboot.c32). sanboot.c32 *should* be capable of initiating an iSCSI
or AoE boot, but I haven't actually tested it.
The other main difference is that gPXE now advertises HTTP/1.0 instead
of HTTP/1.1, since the code was not actually HTTP/1.1

SYSLINUX 2.00-pre8 released
Hi all,
I have released SYSLINUX 2.00-pre8, which a syslinux installer which I'm
*hoping* should be safe to run setuid root (and therefore will be able
to run on any device or file that the user has read/write permission to.)
If anyone is willing to do a security audit of this code, I would really
appreciate it; I have really tried to make sure the code asserts root
privilege as little as at

SYSLINUX 2.20-pre8 available
Rewrite still going strong...
The big news in -pre8 is that I have turned on the code which stores
"label" statements in compressed format. I tested it with a
particularly trivial example, and it handled over 2400 labels that way.
In a more typical configuration it would probably handle 600-800.

I cannot build syslinux-5.11-pre8 from git (No rule to make target `../core/ldlinux.bss')
Hi,
OK, I solved the problem. Before calling "make installer", I first
have to call "make spotless" and "make". Then I can call "make
installer".
Is that documented, somewhere?

Bugs in pxelinux.asm - syslinux 3.75
In pxelinux.asm
the xchg instruction in
                xchg ax,ax
.
data_on_top:
should be xchg ax,dx, I think
At the end of
pxe_get_cached_info routine,there is
                and ax,ax
                jnz .err
It is supposed to test for AX status, but
since pxenv does pushad and popad, AX doesn't contain status. In fact
the other routines calling pxenv don't have this bug.
