?include binstubs in version control
I am using rbenv. Just a quick question: Is it good practice to include binstubs in version control? I have looked at the binstubs created; they look pretty harmless. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ruby on Rails: Talk" group. Trouble Using AR Object based on a Piggyback Query?
Hi, I''m new to Rails and Ruby and can''t access methods/columns from an ActiveRecord object that is a "piggy-back" row as described by David here: http://www.loudthinking.com/arc/000235.html Via Console I can create the piggyback object but reading attributes gives "TypeError: cannot convert String into Integer" (this is in Console and the browser).

It''s all the same list: Gmane, Mailing List, Ruby Forum, Nabble, ...
Does anyone have any ideas how to stop people from posting multiple times to this list? It looks like there is a misunderstanding about the fact that there is are gateways between the lists, so people are posting a questions to the mailing list and then posting the identical question at ruby-forum, nabble, etc. The excess posts are one thing, but sometimes there are parallel conversations

Problem with a web page at gmane.
http://permalink.gmane.org/gmane.comp.search.xapian.general/6933 For some reason the links on that page include the trailing periods so clicking on them will give you a 404 error. Can this be fixed? Thanks, Jim.

GSoC Gmane improvements
Good morning. I'm Tatiana Merkulova, third-year student at Moscow State University, Faculty of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics. I'm interested in the 'Gmane Search improvements' project. I have strong background in C++ and unix system programming. I have some perl-knowledge, but I'm not its active user. Anyway, I think it wouldn't take much time to learn it in

wish: enable joining this Mailinglist via Gmane
Hi, if you are not member of this list, you can not post. That is fine so far. This list is mirrored via Gmane as a nntp gateway. It would be great if a new user could subscribe this Mailinglist as gmane.comp.lang.r.general On reply to his first posting he will get a verification mail (same thing like mailman does here https://stat.ethz.ch/mailman/listinfo/r-help If he can reply he will be

Gmane - Asterisk Users Mailing List
Hi group! Does anybody knows about any news server that works the same way that Gmane www.gmane.com/ does it? I was satisfied with Gmane for few months, but now it seams that it doesn't work any more (no new posts in past few days). Now I'm looking for alternative. -- Tomislav Parcina tparcina#lama.hr

apologies for duplicate posts - btw what's the real diff between gmane.network.samba.general and mailing.unix.samba?
Sorry to those of you that have received duplicates of my messages over the easter weekend. I had subscribed to the nntp server of my isp (pipex uk) and searched for "samba" it showed a few hits but "gmane.network.samba.general" showed as containing no posts but "mailing.unix.samba" showed a bit more than 20'000 so I subscribed to that and sent a slurr of

This isn't supposed to be difficult (how to nntp post to the Gmane Pan user group)
I realize this is (mostly) off topic, but I'm befuddled as to *how* one can post to the Gmane Pan Users' group (gmane.comp.gnome.apps.pan.user) using any nntp USENET client (e.g., Pan, on Centos). I'm already subscribed (by having sent an email to pan-users at nongnu.org); but I just want that USENET group to work like *this* USENET group, where I can post using a server:port

A gmane mystery
I've been collecting redhat.fedora from gmane for several years, but about a week ago I found that while I could read gmane newsgroups I was unable to post to them - that is, my posts did not appear. I was able to post to gmane.test, and could read these posts. So I assume there is no problem with my From: or other headers. I take it that the gmane.linux.centos.general is in fact

OT Gmane and r-help moderator approval
I have started to read r-help on Gmane using Thunderbird as a reader. Before that I had messages sent to gmail account. The first post through Gmane needed moderator approval, but then I got a message from Your friendly autoauthorizer at Gmane.org saying You are now authorized to post to the gmane.comp.lang.r.general newsgroup. But my messages are still needing moderator approval, which I

Gmane for list?
Hi all, I was wondering if I might subscribe this list to gmane.org, so I (and everyone else) might view and search in with a newsreader? Also--is there any way to get it indexed by google, maybe along with the r-help list (or is it already but I haven't found it)? Thanks for your consideration W

Gmane-interface
Hello, I got a hint to use the gmane-interface... ...nice tool. :) But the gmane-server which is mentioned ont he healp-pages of http://www.r-project.org/ http://dir.gmane.org/gmane.comp.lang.r.general and the links on that page also, just only bring me to an gamne-archive, which is outdated.
