have changed a ethercard, because the oldone was defect.
Now I got a realtec8139 and would install it into my winbox98, but have a lot

the driver rtl8139.sys seems to be defect or has something trouble, win98
tells me, the driver couldn't be installed.
Have downloaded again the drivers for rtl8139, but the same problem appears.
Is anybody there, who could help here ? the

Realtek RTL8111B
Hello,
I am bussy building a xen cluster.
When selecting mainboards for this cluster i came only up with core 2 duo mainboards with onboard gigabit ethernet cards with the realtek RTL8111B chipset.
I have tested a mainboard and could not find a way to compile the driver sourcecode from the realtek site because of a missing /lib/modules/2.6.16-xen/Build directory.
Can anyone help me out? I am

dialup Win95 -> samba
Thanks to the four people who replied to my original posting (appended
below, subject "Win95 problem"). I've made progress but have now hit a new
problem.
The solution to the original problem (How do you make a "standalone" client
"log on to the network"?) was simply to tick the "Server Type/Log on to
network" checkbox in the dialup properties.

Windows users can create files but Linux users can not?
I have a Samba server running on a Fedora Core 1 Linux server, and my
problem is that Windows users can create files but Linux users can not.
This is my smb.conf file:
[global]
workgroup = IDG_DK
server string = WebDev
log file = /var/log/samba/%m.log
max log size = 50
[jfl]
path = /var/www/websites/jfl
valid users = jfl

Something is writing a log
I can just be sittting, doing nothing, and I hear the sound of my
hardrive head moving. Just every so often. Like some process is
writing a log.
I have looked in /var/log and do see occational updates to acpi and
messages, but that does not account for all the clicks.
Is there somewhere else to look for logs? I would really like to know
what process has something to remember.....

Problem using syslinux with hard drive partition
I have been succesful in using syslinux to boot from a hard drive, by dd'ing
a Linux (LRP) image onto the drive and then running syslinux (i.e. dd
if=the_image of=/dev/hda followed by a syslinux /dev/hda), however I'm having
problems getting it to work from a partition on the hardrive. I'm trying to
use syslinux on a small 100MB FAT16 partition (same commands as before, just

degrading performance
I've been playing with ocfs2 in local mode, and was really suprised
how fast it was. I was playing with extracting a linux distribution
on my hardrive that was tar gzipped (GZIP=-1) and extracting it onto
a different hard drive.
This was with kernel 2.6.28.

reiser3-6m38

them? Or allow them to create such folders but rewrite them on the
hardrive with a "_" or some other symbol. I have looked threw the wiki
but couldn't find anything about folder name restrictions or folder name
rewriting (rewrite the space to a "_").
Im having problems with some of the expire and compress

Default PXE boot timeout
Hello all,
I have a NFSroot'ed a couple of OS platforms so that servers can have
the option (web access) to:
a. boot off a CentOS NFS root over the network
b. or LOCAL hardrive (FreeBSD).
A Simple script controls this so that if user selects NFS root -
- /etc/dhcpd.conf will be updated to include the filename "pxelinux.0"

Do liquid templates play well with RJS?
Im looking to use liquid template for security reasons, our coding &
designer teams work in semi-isolation. We are looking to use some RJS
goodness but I''m not sure if you are faced with the same problem as with
Rhtml, ie. you are running ruby code which can do anything it is told to
do, eg. delete all files on the hardrive.
Can anyone confirm this is the case?

We used to hide some information from our windows group, to make acls

with the domain groups.
