SYSLINUX 2.09-pre5 - Menu Depth "Feature"
HPA,
I believe I've found a possible bug with /menu.
This against the unmodified -pre5 snapshot.
SRC: http://www.survivaldisk.com/menutest.c
COMPILED: http://www.survivaldisk.com/menutest.com
It's easiest explained if you just compile the .c and experience it for
yourself, anyways.
If you have two submenus nested within each other and then call a third menu
it will bring up the

USB keyboard not working? (* Help needed *)
Are there anyone who has a machine on which the *current* version of
SYSLINUX ends up with an inoperable USB keyboard, especially when using
the menu system?
I might have a workaround, but I don't have a system which exhibits the
problem available to me at the moment, and I really don't want to put in
a hack without knowing that it actually does anything...
If you do have such a

Opinion wanted on F-key help in the simple menu system
Hi all,
3.40 is getting close to feature complete, with the one thing I really
want to add is support for F-key help in the simple menu system.
However, I'm not 100% sure how I want to do it. This may seem trivial,
but it actually matters.
One option is to have the F-key help clear the screen and display text,
similar to the way it would work at the plain boot prompt.
Another option is

Syslinux 3.81 released
Hi everyone,
I have pushed out Syslinux 3.81 to the usual places.
Again, special thanks to my employer, Intel, for letting me spend time
working on this stuff ;)
-hpa
Syslinux 3.81 is primarily a bug fix release. The main new features
are halt-on-idle support and some features to isohybrid, including the
ability to boot from an image written to a partition.

Stuck at "Trying to Load: pxelinux.cfg/default"
Hello,
I'm extremely new to Linux and am working on creating a PXE server/menu
with PXELINUX and Microsoft DHCP/TFTP. I've gotten it to work great
with the exception of one box: the IBM SurePOS 532. If I specify a boot
image in my DEFAULT file, it works fine. However when I try to use
MENU.C32, it gets stuck at "Trying to Load: pxelinux.cfg/default."
Based on TFTP logs, it

SYSLINUX 2.09-pre4
I have just released SYSLINUX 2.09-pre4 with a few changes:
a) SYSLINUX should now correctly handle mode changes from within a
COMBOOT program.
b) Tweaks to the menu system to avoid the "grey text on black" problem.
c) A new color scheme for the menu system (Murali, check it out and see
if you think it works for you.)

SYSLINUX 3.54 released
This is 100% functionally equivalent to 3.54-pre1, with only a few minor
documentation changes.
Changes in 3.54:
* Add "menu separator", "menu indent", "menu disabled"
(see README.menu).
* vesamenu: fix handing of VESA modes with noncontiguous
memory buffers. In particular, Qemu/KVM sets up such a mode
when Cirrus

timeout and menu passwd in pxelinux
Hi,
I am trying the simple menu passswd in syslinux 3.11, and it seems that
if I set the timeout option, the menu passwd is ignored. For example:
-----------
default menu.c32
timeout 70
prompt 0
noescape 1
MENU MARGIN 5
MENU MASTER PASSWD $4$x$03NXHMe7QS0Ukxlkyh684LkWdqY$
label local
MENU DEFAULT
# MENU HIDE
MENU LABEL Local operating system (if available)
MENU PASSWD
localboot 0

SYSLINUX 3.54-pre1 (bug fix release candidate)
I just uploaded SYSLINUX 3.54-pre1.
This is a release candidate, since it fixes a bug which I considers
significant. As it turns out, the problem with the graphical menu under
Qemu/KVM (requiring -std-vga) was actually an invalid assumption that
SYSLINUX was making, and didn't verify. Fixing the assumption was easy
enough to do, so I have fixed it.
Added is also a new set of menu

SYSLINUX 3.31-pre3 released
After thinking a bit of the multi-file support in 3.31-pre1, and
considering a few users' feedback on the subject, I have made a couple
of changes:
1. The dummy filename ~ can be used to mean "the main config file".
2. There is a MENU INCLUDE directive now.

SYSLINUX 3.80 released
3.80 is a bug fix and internal restructuring release. In particular,
the entire shuffler subsystem has been rewritten largely from scratch,
as has the Multiboot module.
Changes in 3.80:
* New shuffler mechanism and API.
* Rewritten mboot.c32 module.
* The syslinux_boot_linux() function has been simplified.
* Don't hang trying to boot a "menu

SYSLINUX 2.09-pre2
This version contains a fix to mbr.asm, plus a version of Murali's menu
system, but ported to gcc. Although gcc produces much bigger 16-bit
code (since it's really 32-bit code with prefixes) I figured it would be
much easier for people to deal with since it requires the configuration
to be compiled in.
That being said, it's a *very* powerful menu system, partially *because*

SYSLINUX 3.36-pre6 (release candidate)
I have, hopefully, found and fixed the issue with non-kernel binaries
that appeared in 3.35. As a result, I have pushed out 3.36-pre6 and am
classifying it as a release candidate. Please try it out, especially if
you have had problems with 3.35.
