SYSLINUX 3.63-pre3 release candidate; SDI image booting
Hello,
I just received a serious bug report from Stas Kysel of rPath (with a
great test case); it appears that deleted files can confuse extlinux so
that it misses files.
This is bad.
As a result, I have pushed out 3.63-pre3, and intend to make a 3.63
final shortly. I would appreciate any help testing this.
Furthermore, I would like to finish the SDI booting module, but I have
yet to

SYSLINUX 2.03-pre3 is release candidate
Hi all,
Since it seems 2.03-pre3 solves some significant problems for people,
I'm going to release it as 2.03 some time later in the week. I would
*greatly* appreciate people testing it before then.
Thanks,

Changes in 2.11:

* SYSLINUX: Fix bug in 2.10 that prevented it from working
correctly for a lot of people.
* SYSLINUX: In the installer, make mtools a bit less fussy.
* Make

SYSLINUX 3.11-pre3 -- release candidate
This is a minor tweak on 3.11-pre2. If nothing new comes up, I will
release this as 3.11 probably early next week.

SYSLINUX 2.08-pre3 released
I just found a rather embarrassing bug in PXELINUX -- and what's worse
-- I wrote an email about it and killed it off accidentally :-/
It appears PXELINUX doesn't free its internal socket buffers (it has 32
of them) when it gets an error reply from the server, including "file
not found." This means it will eventually run out of sockets and "go
deaf." This

SYSLINUX 3.35-pre5 released -- release candidate
Hi all,
I have released SYSLINUX 3.35-pre5 to the Testing directory; this is a
release candidate and I intend to release this as 3.35 early next week
unless I hear of any showstopper bugs, so please, pretty please, try it out.

kernel.org has been overloaded lately, so it might take a while to show up.

syslinux-6.04-pre3 botched
I think I botched syslinux-6.04-pre3. There are two fundamental
problems with the build:
a) The selection of what pieces of the library gets included in the core
is done manually whereas it really should be automatic;
b) The build doesn't fail if there are unresolved dependencies between
the libraries and the core.
I will fix these. (b) is IMO fundamental to avoid this error in the

SYSLINUX 3.73-pre3
I just pushed out SYSLINUX 3.73-pre3. The only significant difference
over -pre2 was changing MEMDISK to use "safeint" by default.

SYSLINUX 2.06-pre3
I have released a SYSLINUX 2.06-pre3. This includes modifications to
ppmtolss16 so that it should now be completely compliant with all modes
of the PNM specification, raw/plain, PBM/PGM/PPM, with comment lines or
without.

Please test it out ASAP if at all possible. Since the fixes for -pre1
and -pre2 were pretty essential, I'd like

SYSLINUX 2.08-pre3 released
This version has the missing syslinux.exe file, plus a few minor fixes
to libcom32 (in particular, ARP should no longer time out while sitting
in the menu.)
I still want to fix sparse files (easy) and symlinks (a bit harder) in
extlinux before releasing 3.08 proper, so this isn't a release candidate
yet.

SYSLINUX 3.50-pre16 released ... RELEASE CANDIDATE
Hi all,
I have finally gotten SYSLINUX 3.50 what it feels like feature-complete
for release, or something pretty close to it. As a consequence, I am
declaring 3.50-pre16 a release candidate. Here is what's news since 3.36:
Changes in 3.50:
* New keywords allow the type of file to be specified in the
configuration file.
* It is now supported to load a different

SYSLINUX 3.54-pre1 (bug fix release candidate)
I just uploaded SYSLINUX 3.54-pre1.
This is a release candidate, since it fixes a bug which I considers
significant. As it turns out, the problem with the graphical menu under
Qemu/KVM (requiring -std-vga) was actually an invalid assumption that
SYSLINUX was making, and didn't verify. Fixing the assumption was easy
enough to do, so I have fixed it.
Added is also a new set of menu

SYSLINUX 3.11-pre8 -- release candidate
I have released SYSLINUX 3.11-pre8; this is a release candidate.
The differences versus -pre6 is that I have reverted the PXELINUX stack
changes I did in SYSLINUX 3.10 since there are confirmed reports that
they break at least one platform.
As before, I hope to release 3.11 on Tuesday unless I get objections.

SYSLINUX 3.36-pre6 (release candidate)
I have, hopefully, found and fixed the issue with non-kernel binaries
that appeared in 3.35. As a result, I have pushed out 3.36-pre6 and am
classifying it as a release candidate. Please try it out, especially if
you have had problems with 3.35.

SYSLINUX 3.00-pre1 released - RELEASE CANDIDATE
Okay, nothing like user mail at 3 am to keep one awake...
I have implemented a filename-based syntax for downloading from an
alternate TFTP server in PXELINUX. If the filename starts with
IP address:: it will:
a) Download from the alternate TFTP server;
b) Suppress the common pathname prefix.
I was considering also adding a configuration file option to set the
default TFTP server, but I

SYSLINUX 3.11-pre9 -- release candidate; release delayed
Based on a few reports I've gotten today, I have make a new release
candidate, 3.11-pre9, and am pushing out the release target to Friday,
September 2.
New in this release candidate:
- Change to MEMDISK, which hopefully will work right both on machines
with and without physical floppies.
- Try to enable the 16550A FIFO for serial console. I'm hoping this
will help eliminate dropped

SYSLINUX 3.31-pre3 released
After thinking a bit of the multi-file support in 3.31-pre1, and
considering a few users' feedback on the subject, I have made a couple
of changes:
1. The dummy filename ~ can be used to mean "the main config file".
2. There is a MENU INCLUDE directive now.
