CF boot stops after version and date output
SYSLINUX 2.10 2004-06-18
That is all I get when I boot my system off a CompactFlash card in an
IDE adapter, no matter how long I wait. What debugging steps are
recommended? I'm willing to get down and dirty with assembler, and I'd
appreciate suggestions of what to suspect and where to start.
Details:
This is a Crucial 128MB CompactFlash card in a non-hot-swap CF-IDE
adapter which

SYSLINUX 2.09-pre4
I have just released SYSLINUX 2.09-pre4 with a few changes:
a) SYSLINUX should now correctly handle mode changes from within a
COMBOOT program.
b) Tweaks to the menu system to avoid the "grey text on black" problem.
c) A new color scheme for the menu system (Murali, check it out and see
if you think it works for you.)

I've got a couple of questions,
I'm trying to get syslinux 2.10 to work on my Apacer Handy Steno TN202

I'm getting...

Add mtools_skip_check=1 to your .mtoolsrc file to skip this test

pxelinux: 2.04 works but 2.09 doesn't
Hi,
Recently I upgraded pxelinux.0 from 2.04 to 2.09, after that the
pxelinux doesn't correctly obtain server's IP address.
The true address is 172.20.0.101, but 2.09 understand it as
172.20.0.11. "0" is dropped. As a result, root nfs-mount is
directed to the non existent server.
Following is the full screen dump of pxeboot by pxelinux 2.09:

Syslinux 2.10 does not load initrd anymore
Hi!
As for this matter, it got solved in 2.11, as I tested it yesterday.
Sorry about the delay, but vacation got in the way ;)
Cheers!

Message File to serial console
Hello,
I am using syslinux to boot a Soekris net4801 into LRP/Lince 1.2 linux. Net4801 has
no video card - it has only a serial port. During bootstrap syslinux writes the text file
syslinux.dpy to the serial port but it breaks the line every 15th character. I tried
syslinux versions 1.66 and 2.11 with same results.
In the Archives from June 3, 2002 , there is a message on this subject

SYSLINUX 2.09-pre5 - Menu Depth "Feature"
HPA,
I believe I've found a possible bug with /menu.
This against the unmodified -pre5 snapshot.
SRC: http://www.survivaldisk.com/menutest.c
COMPILED: http://www.survivaldisk.com/menutest.com
It's easiest explained if you just compile the .c and experience it for
yourself, anyways.
If you have two submenus nested within each other and then call a third menu
it will bring up the

Asterisk 1.6 and PrivacyManager with SIP
Hi all,
My latest Asterisk system is based on Debian squeeze with Asterisk
1.6.2.6-1 and SIP only. One of my favorite features that I had working
with Asterisk 1.4 is the PrivacyManager. However, this was not
straightforward, because anonymous SIP calls arrive with
${CALLERID(num)} = "anonymous", instead of being blank. So, to get it
to work I added the first three rules to

cdr report
Hi. i am running asterisk in a low powered machine (alix2d13 from
pcengines) without any gui. the machine works fine to route all my calls
for the office. the problem is the management of the CDRs. i can see the
master.csv file, but it is not very friendly for the secretary of this
office to manage the calls.
is there a way to have a nice way to see the CDRs?Since the machine is
very small on

Asterisk on Pcengines Alix board
Hi all,
I have successfully compiled and installed Asterisk on an Alix board
(AMD Geode 500 Mhz + 256 Mb RAM) on top of Voyage linux (a Debian
variant).
I'm using it at home for a month.
I wondered how much it could be loaded, so I tested it with pbx-test:
I could place up to 15 simultaneous SIP calls before it got no more
responsive.
All in all a good, stable and cheap solution for home

PXE booting
Hi!
I have been using pxelinux with memdisk to boot our workstations with
our custom floppy, which is a MSDOS boot disk (actually it is win98)
On one of the PC's I'm testing, a Fujitsu-Siemens which has an AMDtek
based on-board network card and when PXE is activated,
it gets an IP from the DHCP, then it finds the TFTP server, downloads
pxelinux.0, executes it which causes the floppy to

bad performance on 2.4.23
hi,
- big and ugly mail. If you don't like them, delete it now :-) -
I have collected and classified some information of:
http://home.earthlink.net/~rwhron/kernel/bigbox.html
And I observed that ext3 performance is worse than previous
kernels(2.4.19...). -ac and -aa are here only as reference.
Complete information is in the upper URL.
dbench: Performance is worse.

Something weird about draggable_element_js
Hi,
Because I want to create several draggable elements in a list, I''d
like to do the following:
<script type="text/javascript">
<%- elements.each do |element| -%>
<%= draggable_element_js("element_#{element.id}".to_sym, :revert
=> true) %>
<%- end -%>
</script>
However, if you''d try this in your app, you''ll

Password problem
Hi folks,
My client and I are having a problem getting a portable Esaote
ultrasound machine to connect to a Samba server. The unit has an
integrated laptop with a Windows XP version that can hardly be
modified. Upon delivery the vendor only changed the user name and
workgroup for us. When I asked for the user password to make a
matching Samba account, the vendor refused because they use
