Isolinux bug: CD bootsector support broken
HPA, I believe that support to boot windows CD bootsectors was broken in 3.05. I have tested 2.13, 3.00, 3.02, 3.05, 3.06, 3.08, 3.11, and 3.20pre6. All versions >= 3.05 are broken. All versions <= 3.02 work fine with the same config. The error message I get is: ================================================================ IOSLINUX 3.20 3.20-pre6 Copyright (C) 1994-2005 H. SYSLINUX 2.10-pre2 is out
I have released SYSLINUX 2.10-pre2. I *really* would like testing reports for this one, especially ISOLINUX, since I've included Knut Petersen's fix for Award BIOSes... Changes in 2.10: * MEMDISK: Handle images compressed with zip as well as with gzip. Some Windows-based image tools apparently generate these kinds of images by default. Patch by Patrick

Gcc 3.4.0 and syslinux-2.09 menu
The menu directory won't compile with gcc 3.4.0 because gcc complains that "ebp" cannot be used as a constraint. If preserving ebp is necessary then it will have to be done in the assembler code. Gcc 3.3.3 just seems to ignore the constraint. It didn't do anything special to preserve the register. I also noticed that getnumrows returns the contents of 0x484 which is the

SYSLINUX 2.09-pre2
This version contains a fix to mbr.asm, plus a version of Murali's menu system, but ported to gcc. Although gcc produces much bigger 16-bit code (since it's really 32-bit code with prefixes) I figured it would be much easier for people to deal with since it requires the configuration to be compiled in. That being said, it's a *very* powerful menu system, partially *because*

Unable to install CentOS 5.2 on New HP Intel Core 2 Quad
Our new lab has HP Intel Core 2 Quad systems with DVD/CDRW and SATA. I can provide the model number if needed. They stop on kernel startup when trying to boot the CentOS 5.2 boot CD. It is during ACPI. I have tried linux noprobe and linux pci=noacpi and linux noprobe pci=noacpi. I still cannot get to the first install screen. Fedora 10 Live will not but up either. I am using Fedora 9 from

The maximum number of rows in a com32 menu
Hey Murali, While playing with HDT which uses your menu, I found I can't reach more than 24 rows whereas my screen is 25. set_windows_size() relies on getnumrows() to define the maximum number of possible rows. But regarding to getnumrows() code, it sounds to report "// Actually numrows - 1". On my screen which is 80x25, getnumcols x getrowcols reports 80x24. The

Trying to build ISOLinux Minimal CD
Okay.. I'm pulling out my hair, not having much luck trying to get ISOLinux (syslinux) running on my IBM x345 Server... I want to put my boot (syslinux) and root files (lib etc for modules) on the CDROM and just boot off of it to use PartImage... Not having much luck though.. For testing purposes I'm using the boot floopy I created using "The Linux Bootdisk HOWTO" and it

multiplication question
folks, is there a clever way to compute the sum of the product of two vectors such that the common indices are not multiplied together? i.e. if i have vectors X, Y, how can i compute Sum (X[i] * Y[j]) i != j where i != j also, what if i wanted Sum (X[i] * Y[j] * R[i, j]) i != j where R is a matrix? thanks, murali

creating conditional list of elements
Sorry to plague the list, but I think I got the answer. The following would do: > signalList <- list(tradingRules$Signal[tradingRules$Enabled]) [[1]] > length(signalList) [1] 2 Now my problem is shifted: I have the Signal column in the original data frame referring to actual matrices previously created in R. That is, bar_signal and cif_signal are extant matrices. What I need is the

[LLVMdev] [Patch][Review Requested][Compilation Time] Avoid frequent copy of elements in LoopStrengthReduce
Hello, This patch aims to improve compile time performance by increasing the SCEV vector size in LoopStrengthReduce. It is observed that the BaseRegs vector size is 4 in most cases, and elements are frequently copied when it is initialized as SmallVector<const SCEV *, 2> BaseRegs. Our benchmark results show that the compilation time performance improved by ~0.5%. Patch by Wan Xiaofei.

[LLVMdev] Improving the usability of LNT
Hi Daniel, I made some changes to the LNT perf reporting tool to make it more user friendly by adding some features: 1. Make the sidebar and the navigation bar stationary, so that it is easy to navigate the site 2. Have the pop-down menu for the items in the navigation bar, activate upon hovering the mouse, rather than clicking the item 3. Add a nav-link in the sidebar for the
