Syslinux 6.03 released (Ady)
Ady,
This sounds interesting. I know PXE and related DHCP options
somewhat well. But I don't recognize this.
Typically, you add PXE-related options to your DHCP server.
Either your main DHCP server, or a proxy DHCP server you stand up.
To a lesser extent, some smarter TFTP servers (like Tivoli
or Rembo) can parse vendor-encapsulated options. They take different
actions according to the

PXELinux + Altiris + Tivoli.
Hello All.
I have few networks with Tivoli Provision Manager (http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/downloads/tiv/pmfos/?S_TACT=105AGX28&S_CMP=TRIALS ), Altiris (http://www.symantec.com/business/deployment-solution) and WDS (on W2008Stdx32).
I successfully expand WDS functionally with pxelinux (4.03).I really like how pxelinux working.

Machine Trust Accounts
Hi,
I'm in the process of setting up Samba 2.2.2 as a PDC and the boss has been reasonably impressed with it.
An issue that we've come up against is machine trust accounts. Our PC labs (running W2k) are rebuilt nightly or on demand via Rembo. This is done to keep a clean and consistant install on the machines at all times.
I suspect that this will cause the trust account relationship

PXELINUX v. bpbatch
What is the difference between PXELINUX and bpbatch ?
AFAICT, bpbatch doe not require a TFTP server which supports the
'tsize' option. So in the absence of such a server, I may need to
explore bpbatch... It seems that bpbatch can be used to remotely boot
DOS. Can PXELINUX also do this?

Roaming profiles and accounts
Hi all,
I've managed to install an ubuntu server as PDC, everything is working fine.
However, i've got a few questions regarding profile ( M$ XP ) and unix accounts.
1. Roaming profile : I believed that when logging off a computer, user's profile was moved back to the server. But i can still find one.
Is there anything to do for the profile not to be stored on pc ?
2. An account

Dual Asterisk Servers
Due to the unfortunate nature of Wikis, the section on voip-info.org
that deals with dual asterisk servers is full of pretty bad and
outdataed examples.
What I'm trying to do is distribute small asterisk boxes to remote
offices that have SIP clients connected inside the network, and ship any
outbound calls to a central asterisk server via IAX that is in turn
connected to the PSTN and

HP-UX 9.05: stropts.h: No such file or directory
I just tried to build samba-1.9.18p7 (using gcc ver-2.7.2.1) on a
HP 9000/700 running HP-UX ver. 9.05, and I got this error message:

[LLVMdev] Changing basic blocks
Hi all,
A week agoo I sent an email about reordering instruction in basicblocks.
And ... I was able to do it. I guess so, at least.
Now when compiling my test program, llc dumps:

llvm::LiveVariables::HandleVirtRegUse(llvm::LiveVariables::VarInfo&,

Panics on 4.7 system
After some dialog with Terry Lambert on -hackers, I've been advised to
post this here.
I have a 4.7-RELEASE-p10 box that is suffering regular kernel panics.
The machine is a Dell 2650 running primarily as a file/print server to
a number of computer labs of about 400 machines (although it also
functions as a rembo image server and squid proxy). It mainly stores
applications, which

WinSCP error while connecting to root
Hi folks,
I tried to use WinSCP (http://winscp.vse.cz/eng/) for a ftp like scp-GUI for Windows in order to connect to a HP-UX machine running 11.0 and openssh-2.5.1p2. The problem is that I can connect to any user I want _except_ root! When I connect to root, then the command "echo $status" (this is the way how WinSCP detects the user shell) results in a "logout root". The

Installing Wine on ubuntu 9.04
Hey this is my first time trying Linux. I installed Ubuntu 9.04 about an hour ago. The reason why I installed was I wanted to play Diablo II. I tried everything and couldn't get the game to run on Vista. So I'm dual boot running Vista and Ubuntu. I wanted the easiest to understand Wine. I didn't want to download the developers version, I wanted the latest stable version.
I downloaded
