kdewebdev aka Quanta or repository kde-redhat.sourceforge.net
does this exist for CentOS 4 ? OK - next level of question then... taking a wild swing, I set up /etc/yum.repos/kde-redhat.repo and for S&G's, I ran the obligatory 'yum update' to see what would happen. It's an aggressive update to be sure. KDE 3.5.0 (and all the dependent stuff such as qt) but also samba and openoffice. Is anyone reporting happiness / contentment with

Sonic Mega Collection crashes on startup.
Ubuntu 8.04 Wine 1.1.10 The sonic mega collection contains almost every genesis sonic game, along with some game gear sonics. The game installed flawlessly, and the no-cd patch worked also. However, upon loading, it shows a faint shadow of the famous SEGA startup screen and then locks up and must be force killed. Changing it to various compat modes did nothing. Normal Output: Code: name at

Synchronising Japanese Characters in Rsync
Hi there, I have searched the rsync website, as well as an extensive search on google, but have been unable to come up with a definitive answer regarding whether rsync will synchronise files and directories which have Japanese characters in them. I am using an English language version of Linux, which has some directories shared via samba. Both English and Japanese language windows clients

[cygwin] Fwd: Updated: rsync-2.6.2-3
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Here goes the announcement of the 2.6.2-3 package for cygwin (available from cygwin's setup itself). If you wonder what "2.6.2-3" means, it's basically the third "cygwin package" that uses rsync-2.6.2 sources. This third attempt solves both the august security fix and the textmode bug that 2.6.2-2 had. follows the

Dell OptiPlex 790 PXELINUX localboot reboot loop
Our site has many Dell OptiPlex 790s, all of which are unable to use the 'localboot' PXELINUX option as they either hang at 'Booting from local disk...' or immediately reboot depending on which SYSLINUX version is used. Many people have suggested using chain.c32 to chain load the local disk as a workaround, but this causes problems with Windows 7 BitLocker as it detects the chain

Need help getting Sonic CD to work.
First things first: I'm using Ubuntu 8.04 and Wine 1.0. (according to wine --version). The app: Sonic CD, retail (the newest) version. You can find a legal copy of the demo http://www.download.com/Sonic-CD/3000-2099_4-10004176.html?hhTest=1&tag=lst-1&cdlPid=859962 here. I believe it works the same as the retail version. At least, I had the same problems with it. A person made a patch

Catching a list of variables with a Controller
Hi All, I have been learning some ruby and some Camping at the same time by implementing a little webapp to track expenses (one man''s blog...) that includes the ability to tag entries with 1 or more tags. I wanted to offer the possibility to narrow the view of expenses by adding tags to a filter (this works) and I also wanted this filter to be reflected in the URL. Like so: normal URL:

Peepcode REST podcast. ..didn't anybody get it ?
And if so, I''m going a bit bonkers here and need to watch it again, but if I remember correctly, scaffold_resource generator was used, but for nested resources the show and index were removed from the controller ? Is this correct as far as what happened in the demonstration and if so is it correct as far as rest goes ? TIA Stuart -- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_ambient

Asterisk Voice Mail Server and older Executone PBX..can it be done?
Does anyone have experience with melding Asterisk with an older Executone PBX? I have a client whose existing voicemail server(repartee) has become bonkers and we need to stick a VM system in there asap. I thought asterisk would be a good thing to use. Does anyone have experience with the older Executone PBX's and asterisk? Any caveats, any tips, any things I should be aware of? Thanks,

virt-manager issues?
Hi, A short while ago I renamed two VMs by shutting them down, lvrenaming the storage devices and adjusting the storage path and vm name using "virsh edit". This works fine so far and "virsh list" shows them correctly however virt-manager has gone bonkers and still shows them with the old names and alternating between the status "Shutoff" and "Running"
