syslinux-6.04-pre2
Hi all,
It has been the case for quite a while that the master tree is
unambiguously better than 6.03. I have thus tagged and pushed out a
syslinux-6.04-pre2 release, however, due to the issues with continuing
to keep the main archive on kernel.org, I have moved the release archive to:
https://www.zytor.com/pub/syslinux/
Other than the URL, there is no difference from the kernel.org archive.

SYSLINUX 2.05 released
Greetings,
I have released SYSLINUX 2.05. It is almost identical to 2.05-pre4.
I'm about to leave for a trip, so if there are any issues please let me
know, but don't expect a response any time soon.
-hpa
2.05 is mostly a bug fix/maintenance release.
Changes in 2.05:
* PXELINUX: Add a default query based on the hardware address
of the boot device. This is in lower

SYSLINUX 2.10-pre2 is out
I have released SYSLINUX 2.10-pre2. I *really* would like testing
reports for this one, especially ISOLINUX, since I've included Knut
Petersen's fix for Award BIOSes...
Changes in 2.10:
* MEMDISK: Handle images compressed with zip as well as with
gzip. Some Windows-based image tools apparently generate
these kinds of images by default. Patch by Patrick

SYSLINUX 3.73-pre2 (release candidate)
I have just pushed out SYSLINUX 3.73-pre2. This prerelease adds support
for the fact that the ACPI 3 definition changes the E820 memory
detection spec in an incompatible(!!!) manner.
Please test it out, as I'd really like to push a 3.73 out as soon as
possible.

SYSLINUX 3.09-pre2: release candidate
It appears that increasing the command line limit to 1023 caused the
.bss memory area to overflow. Unfortunately NASM didn't detect this as
it ought to have and therefore I didn't catch it as an error.
I have dropped the command line limit to 511 characters and released it
as 3.09-pre2. This is a release candidate; please test it out and if it
works I'll make it 3.09.

Thanks.
Any chance to update the changelog as well. The NEWS file in the archive
over at https://www.zytor.com/pub/syslinux/Testing/6.04/ only lists changes
for 6.03

SYSLINUX 2.05-pre1 released
Okay, I have finally become convinced that hardware address based config
files should be a standard feature in PXELINUX, so I have added it. I
am a bit worried that it might not work with all DHCP servers (since I'm
trying to do this in a hardware-independent manner), so I'd appreciate
feedback.
This adds one more name to the list of names queried for the config
file, before the IP-based

SYSLINUX 2.09-pre2
This version contains a fix to mbr.asm, plus a version of Murali's menu
system, but ported to gcc. Although gcc produces much bigger 16-bit
code (since it's really 32-bit code with prefixes) I figured it would be
much easier for people to deal with since it requires the configuration
to be compiled in.
That being said, it's a *very* powerful menu system, partially *because*

SYSLINUX 3.72-pre2 released
Hi all,
I just pushed out SYSLINUX 3.72-pre2. It has a rather cool new feature:
a hack to ISOLINUX to create a single image which can be booted either
from CD-ROM or from what BIOS considers a hard disk medium (USB keys, etc.)

SYSLINUX 2.07-pre2 released
I have released a test version of syslinux with support for "ipappend
2", which causes the boot interface hardware address to be passed using
a new "BOOTIF=" command line option (capitalized to indicate that it's
not really a kernel option.)
Please test it out and let me know if it works.

SYSLINUX 2.12-pre2 released
This version fixes the install bug from -pre1, and adds console driver
capable of parsing ANSI escape codes for libcom32.
The ANSI parser is pretty large (almost 3K of code) and pretty dumb
(slightly more intelligent than DOS' ANSI.SYS), but has the nice
property that it should make it reasonably easy to write screen-oriented
applications which will work both on the serial console (where

Syslinux 3.81 released
Hi everyone,
I have pushed out Syslinux 3.81 to the usual places.
Again, special thanks to my employer, Intel, for letting me spend time
working on this stuff ;)
-hpa
Syslinux 3.81 is primarily a bug fix release. The main new features
are halt-on-idle support and some features to isohybrid, including the
ability to boot from an image written to a partition.
Changes in 3.81:
