Question concerning the EXT3 Journaling code
Hello, I've attached the output from "sh scripts/ver_linux" per the bug reporting guidelines, and a diff of the file fs/jbd/transaction.c. At this point, I'm trying to hunt down why some system threads, which are executing the Lustre file system code, are taking an unexpectedly long time executing various ext3 file system functions. I added some debug code to these system

Re: WinME command.com (was Re: Problems with Memdisk 2.04)
Hi, I've got the same Problem. Not with WinMe but Win 98SE. But what I figured out is, that it doesn't realy apply to the Command.com rather to the Way the BootImage was created. It took me a long time to get my Hands on a Image with 2.8MB that's working. Since creating one my self, was allways failling. I downloaded the Bootutils 4.3 from 3com and used the Imageedit tools. With these

Trouble pinging servers DNS name.
I can ping the virtual Linux servers NetBIOS name and access a share. Perhaps someone can examine the attached named.conf file for errors and/or omissions. My virtual Linux server (172.17.60.6) has been configured as a WINS server, and a PDC. I am not, however, certain how to configure it as a DNS server beyond what is in the attached named.conf file. Here are the results of pinging the

dual-ported raid
Hi, I have a dual-ported raid controller which allows two computers to connect to the same ext3 filesystem. I never mount both systems read-write at the same time. What I would like to do is use one normally, and mount the second system read-only to perform backups and to rsync the filesystem to another filesystem. When it's mounted read-write from another system, will mounting the same

Sometimes it loads and once it gets to the part of installing linux the screen turns red and I get "interrupt handler not syncing" Thanks -- Otis DeWitt -

PXELinux cannot load the config file
I have DHCP and TFTP on a Solaris machine, pxelinux.0 loads, but it can't load the configuration file. The tftp server on Solaris tries to send the file, but data transfers do not receive ACKs. Previous posts to this list have indicated that the suspect was the PXE BIOS (ref "PXELinux can't load the config file?" dated March 20, 2003). Does that still appear to be the case

PXELINUX 2.02 won't boot correctly
I am trying to use PXELINUX to quickly build a RedHat 7.3/Red Hat 8.0 network via TFTP, NFS, and Kickstart . I had this working previously with an older version of PXELINUX, but as I am trying to build a new network segment, I needed to set this up again. I have the files set up as specified, where my default file looks like: default linux label linux kernel vmlinuz append

HTB/IMQ troubles (probably)
Hello, I use HTB with linux-2.4.20-ac1 and iptables-1.2.7a (pathced for IMQ). I configured one HTB qdisc on an IMQ device. This qdisc has some classes (about 5) and all of the classes has qdisc pfifo. I sometimes got out from my linux (while I was working) and I found in logs: Dec 4 11:49:27 core kernel: HTB init, kernel part version 3.7 Dec 4 11:49:28 core kernel: HTB: quantum of class

interface negotiation questions (slightly off-topic)
Howdy: This is (at least slightly) off-topic, but I've seen more knowledgeable folks than I mention autonegotiation in this venue and, since I didn't get any response on the vortex-bugs mailing list, I thought I'd ask here (also, the interface in question supports samba so...). And there should be some good news for some folks too. If this is old news, sorry (I've been too busy
