Timing source on SMP system
I need a timing device for the DL360G2 for conferencing and meetme. For
a timing device I have 2 X100P cards but neither will work in my
DL360G2. The system will not even boot with either card in the system.
Other PCI cards seems to work fine. I called Digium support and was told
that there must be a conflict between the card and my Compaq DL360G2.
I then moved on to ztdummy. I'm sure the

Timing source on SMP system - Disable RTC for zaprtc
Does anyone know where to disable rtc support on redhat 9.0 using make
menuconfig?
I thought I disabled it but still got the following error when trying to
make zaprtc:

zaprtc.c:719: storage size of `rtc_fops' isn't known

localboot not working in PXELINUX 2.02
Hello,
We're using the PXELINUX to boot remote kickstart and Linux rescue
images. Recently we got some new hardware (Compaq DL360) which
required me to upgrade from PXELINNUX 1.75 to 2.02. Everything works
fine on the new hardware, but the "localboot 0" option now just hangs
on some of our older boxes.
Specifically, our "Tyan Thunder 2510" motherboards with integrated

Any help would be appreciated as I am a novice trying to work around a

This is what the zaprtc helpfile says:

HELP on AVM Fritz with CAPI drivers for SMP RH 9
Hello,
I have been wrestling with installing the CAPI drivers for AVM Fritz in order
to use chan_capi with Asterisk.
I use an SMP machine, RH 9. I have found rpm's for CAPI and AVM drivers
(namely: capi4k-utils-2003.06.16-08.mungo.RH9.i686.rpm and kernel-2.4.20-8-
avmfcpci-03.11.02-08.mungo.RH9.i686.rpm), but I believe that they support only
single processor machines.
I've already

anyone using pxelinux.0 > 3.36 successfully with HP DLXXX G3, G5?
Hello *
this morning I tried to upgrade from pxelinux 3.11 to 3.84 and
discovered that the localboot stuff does not work on HP DL360 G3 and G5.
The latest syslinux Version I found with a working localboot is 3.36.
pxelinux.cfg/default:
default harddisk
prompt 1
label harddisk
localboot 0
implicit 0
timeout 250
This so simple, it should just work, shouldn't it?

qlogic qle2462 hba and freebsd stable on a dl360 g5
Hi.
I'm looking at a qlogic qle2462 hba for my dl360 g5. The thread
http://www.mail-archive.com/freebsd-stable@freebsd.org/msg99497.html
mentions a deadlock when system is loaded. Has this issue been
resolved? Are there other PCI Express hba's which are known to work
with freebsd stable and dl360 g5?

Problems Formatting /boot With CentOS 4.3 on a DL360 G3
I have been trying to install CentOS 4.3 on an HP DL360 G3 (with dual
Xeon 3.2 GHz, a Smart Array 5i, and two 36 GB disks doing RAID 1
mirroring). I''m doing all defaults (including the disk and LVM setup)
and using the "Minimal" checkbox at the bottom of the Custom machine
type package selection screen, so it''s a very "vanilla" install. It

ProLiant DL3n0 EMT64 - x86_64 or i686
Guys,
I'll be building a couple of DL360 G4p & DL380 G4 boxes soon and I've
not dealt extensively (i.e. at all) with any PC stuff that hasn't been
i386. I know the DL line pretty well but it was all G2/3.
So, question is, do I stick CentOS i386 or x86_64 on them? 2 boxes x
2GB RAM and 1 x 4GB, all SMP.
Will.

proxy server - ipcop vs CentOS
I have purchased a used Compaq DL360 which I was going to use as a proxy
server. Presently, we are using a cheap box with ipcop which is working
fine but it didn't have much RAM (64MB), etc.
This new box we will want to run squid and perhaps dansguardian for
filtering (this is a non-profit company) and I'm wondering if I should
just put ipcop on it or would it be smarter/better to install

PXELinux sending a boot disquette image? Is this possible?
Hi,
First, I want to precise that I'm new to linux, so please answear with
simple words ;)
My problem is that I have to install and configure linux (RH9) on 36
identical computers. This would take ages. What I want to do, is to
configure one, and then clone the install.
But thos computers have no CD, no floppy, and I didn't manage to boot them
brom an usb stick.

Boot problem HP/Compaq DL360 G3
The machine in question is a DL360 G3 R03 Xeon DP 3060-512/533 (part
number: 322471-421). It's the first HP-branded model we've had so
far (previously all Compaq branded). It has 1Gb of memory and
a couple of drives on the on-board SCSI controller (setup for
mirroring in the SCSI bios). No SMP is setup right now (doesn't
get far enough to do anything with it!). In any case, this
