syslinux tool for Win2k and 'safeboot' option
Hello I think syslinux is great and just downloaded 2.00 and will start using it in a couple of days. 1. We use an IDE<->compactflash-adapter in our target-system. We use a USB-compact-flash reader/writer(SanDisk/ImageMate) on our linux-host to write the flash. It appears in the Linux-system as '/dev/sda', and we can use syslinux and mount for copying kernel, syslinux.cfg and our

SV: syslinux tool for Win2k and 'safeboot' option
Hello Luis Thansk Yes we tried that and it works, but if you are in the field and only have new clean compact-flash and no DOS, you are in trouble. I can syslinux directly to the USB card-reader/writer under Linux without problems too. It just appears as a SCSI-device(/dev/sda). best regards ole at danelec.dk * danelec electronics a/s * Blokken 44 * DK-3460 Birkeroed * DENMARK *

How to generate bootable medium under Windows2000 ???
Hello syslinux We are using a compact-flash as bootmedium for SysLinux and Linux 2.4.x. We use an IDE to ComPact-flash 'converter' in the target. So far, we have generated the boot-medium on Linux-host, via a USB-compact-flash reader/writer, and this works fine. Our customer would like to generate new boot-flashes from Windows2000 via SysLinux.com. Now the problem starts, as

Bootscreen
Hello Mr Anvin, I'm trying to get my system to show a bootscreen during the entire boot. Since using Linux's fbdev doesn't quite work out (kernel segfault) I'd like to just stick with what Syslinux has put on the screen in the first place and leave it there. No unfortunately, even though I've left out the VGA console from the kernel, the picture still vanishes after shortly

PXElinux bootscreens
I have not found in your documentation any discussion of Graphical frontends to PXElinux (a la Syslinux). Is this possible, or likely in the future? Steve Kuervers Systems Engineer Simulation Centre LFWA (Edmonton) (780) 973-4011 Ext 5831 (780) 973-1557 Fax kuervers.sj at forces.gc.ca

Multiboot DVD with original bootscreens kept intact
Hello, This is my first post ever in a mailing-list so I hope I do the things correctly. First, thank's to the author for these amazing tools. With Isolinux, I am making my own DVD multiboot with multiple liveCDs combined. I can get to work everything without even modifying livecds hierarchy. But now I need an important function that I can't get to work: DISPLAY boot.msg In fact to be

how to import map data (maptools?) from a html set of 'coords'
Dear R users, I would like to draw map and import it in maptools/spatstat packages. The 'raw data' I have come from a web page (<map>...</map>) and are basically a list of coordinates of a polygon. I would like to know how to import them in R; I checked the maptools packages, but all the examples use existing .dbf files. I just have a (serie of) text file(s) looking like

[LLVMdev] sprintf -> snprintf conversion
Hello, llvmdev! I'm using LLVM on OpenBSD. This project proactively advocates usage of 'secure' C apis, especially related to memory bounds checking. Thus using functions like sprintf/strcpy/etc usually spits out a linker warning in base toolchain like this one: /home/proger/dev/llvm/Debug+Asserts/lib/libclangFrontend.a(DocumentXML.o) (.text+0xc65): In function

suggestion to fix packageDescription() for Windows users
Hi Duncan, I'm guessing I'll be able to look at this over the weekend/next week (probably closer to next week). It is on my list of things to do and I've just had a few other prior commitments that I have to finish first. Sorry for the delay. I'll chime in with a status update next week.
