pxelinux.cfg/default
Can someone tell me what is supposed to go into pxelinux.cfg/default ?
I get the intial transfer of pxelinux.0 to the client and I'm not really
sure what is supposed to happen next..
I get an error msg about TFTP server does not support the tsize option,
but that may be simply because the corret file isn't there to be
transferred.
Can I download the correct file from anywhere?

Re: pxegrub + memdisk + dos + undi
Hi Aaron,
i know it is not an interactive menu - but in my 'config' file i call
for a textfile to be displayed : DISPLAY menu.txt
that contains all my labels. See the first part of my 'config' :
label 0
LOCALBOOT 0
label 1
KERNEL memdisk/memdisk
APPEND initrd=images/w2k/unatt.ima

pxegrub + memdisk + dos + undi
I have an image of a dos floppy that loads
the undi driver from 3com and mounts an smb share.
This works great with pxelinux(from syslinux) and memdisk
I need to make it work with pxegrub so we can use menus.
(or figure out a menu system for pxelinux)
With pxegrub I use memdisk as the kernel and load the
dos image as a ramdisk.
The undi driver loads and doesn't complain but, the network

Memdisk and USB Floppy
I just wanted to chime in and mention that I'm running into the problem
with getting a "Non-system disk..." error on a system using a USB floppy
when the floppy is not attached when I try to boot the system over the
network using memdisk to boot a floppy image. Its actually fairly
important to be able to do this, as the architecture of the hardware
that I'm working with utilizes

Loading Xen with PXELinux
Greetings:
[ First, apologies if this has been discussed before. I looked through
about the last year's worth of archives, but couldn't find a "Search
feature", so I used the visual grep method, which is not foolproof. I
also tried to download the full text of the archives to use the real
grep, but I got an error loading it... ]

PXElinux boot sequence with multiple ethernets
Hello,
I am attempting a PXE boot between two systems, each with multiple
network cards. While there are a total of 8 ports on each computer,
only two (each) are connected as follows:
Boot Server
eth0 - 10GbE fiber channel (private to the set of computers being
managed) (Qlogic)
eth4 - 1Gb ethernet (public and out of my sphere of management)

PXE2.2 does not work, PXE2.0 does
Hi,
We have been using PXELinux 2.0 for a few weeks now.
So far so good, but recently we found out that newer 3com network cards with
PXE2.2 wont boot. When flash these cards with an older PXE2.0 than
everything works okay. Anyone else having this problem?

Creating a bootable floppy
I'm reading the docs accompanying SYSLINUX where it says:-
++++ CREATING A BOOTABLE LINUX FLOPPY +++
In order to create a bootable Linux floppy using SYSLINUX, prepare a
normal MS-DOS formatted floppy. Copy one or more Linux kernel files to
it, then execute the DOS command:
syslinux [-s] a:
Now before I run this program, I'd like to know which 'one or more Linux

UEFI and PXE
Once upon a time, Steven Tardy <sjt5atra at gmail.com> said:
> The ?ICMP unreachable? should be a dead giveaway. . .
You cut out the part of the email where the OP said that the UEFI system
was ignoring the next-server part of the DHCP reply and trying to TFTP
to the DHCP server instead of the TFTP server. Of course that got ICMP
unreachable, but it isn't a firewall problem.

PXE boot from Windows XP
Yes, you are missing these options in the DHCP server:
66 'Boot Server Host Name' (the tftp server IP)
67 'Bootfile Name' (pxelinux.0)

tftp problems with VIA EPIA-M board
I'm trying to boot linux on a VIA EPIA-M board (a Nehemiah-based
M10000), and I'm having some trouble with it. I'm watching the network
transactions with ethereal, and I'm seeing a failure at what appears
to be the tftp stage.
The M10000 picks up its IP address from the dhcp server (ISC
DHCP3), and reports it correctly on the screen. Then the tftp session
starts, and I get the

Can't UEFI boot PXELinux on WDS server
DHCP seems to be working properly - returning the correct boot file for the
architecture of the PXE client, but when I try to boot syslinux.efi, it gets
the file then keeps requesting ldinux.e64 over and over again. The file is
there and available. A wireshark trace shows it keeps requesting the file,
followed by the server responding to the blksize and tsize options, but then
the client just

Bootloader chaining
I've been trying to make up for a mismatch in functionality between bpbatch
and pxelinux by trying to use both depending what I'm trying to do by chain
booting the two. I'm able to chain boot in either direction, either
pxelinux then bpbatch or bpbatch then pxelinux, but once I've done this,
and boot either Linux or DOS, I find the adapter I used to network boot is

Disk preparation
I'm trying to move off of bpbatch and on to pxelinux (bpbatch doesn't boot
the installation kernels for SuSE 8.1 and SLES 8--they appear to be too
big). This has been a pretty easy transition, except for the fact that I'm
using bpbatch to install Windows 2000 over the network as well as Linux.
For Windows 2000 I use a DOS boot diskette with network drivers and run the
