pxelinux.cfg/default
Can someone tell me what is supposed to go into pxelinux.cfg/default ?
I get the intial transfer of pxelinux.0 to the client and I'm not really
sure what is supposed to happen next..
I get an error msg about TFTP server does not support the tsize option,
but that may be simply because the corret file isn't there to be
transferred.
Can I download the correct file from anywhere?

Creating a bootable floppy
I'm reading the docs accompanying SYSLINUX where it says:-
++++ CREATING A BOOTABLE LINUX FLOPPY +++
In order to create a bootable Linux floppy using SYSLINUX, prepare a
normal MS-DOS formatted floppy. Copy one or more Linux kernel files to
it, then execute the DOS command:
syslinux [-s] a:
Now before I run this program, I'd like to know which 'one or more Linux

Disk images and syslinux
Hi,
I'm working on a Red Hat 7.3 based bootable cd. I have included a number of firmware update floppy images to it succesfully. However, I run into problems trying to build a floppy image for IBM ServerRAID firmware update. The firmware update disk set contains three disks. So their content does not fit into 1.44 nor 2.88 floppy images.
To my understanding it possible to build a hard disk

Ogg encoding with delphi
Hi.
I found Matthijs delphi header on delphi jedi. But unfortunately I get always a division zero error.
Then I looked in this mailing list but I found only old topics and I don't know I they are some aktiv header files.
So does anyone have a delphi encoding example or delphi header files (for ogg encoding) for me?
I hope you can help me
Thanks

Variable expansion with variables containing '%' (ldap with 2.3.6)
Hi,
there seems to be a problem when expanding variables containing a
single '%' in value in dovecot V2.3.6
having a user defined Variable in user_attrs like
user_attrs = name=home=/maildir/%Ln,
=myvar=path/%L{ldap:sAMAccountName}
and sAMAccountName conains a '%', in my example "sonder%zeichen"
leads to:

tftp-hpa to boot aix
i am using tftp-hpa 0.32 to transfer boot image files of an aix 5.2
system. packets begin to go across the network and then they stop at
about 4200 packets. when i boot from aix bootp server 15227 packets are
transfered.
i have tried with both xinetd and standalone modes with many different
options. i am not sure why it is failing to transfer the entire image.
are there certain options with

pxelinux, dhcp and multiple interfaces on the device
Short version:
Is there a way to find out which interface PXE booted from?
Long version:
I'm working on a cluster of machines, each using a networked
root filesystem, booting via PXE. Some of these machines have
multiple interfaces, some of which are going to be on networks
that have functioning DHCP servers that will offer addresses.
I'd like to have modular network drivers.

what happens to text after the label?
Hi All,
Interesting that I couldn't find this documented anywhere, but
what happens to text that is typed after the label on the syslinux
prompt?
My current issue is I'm using PXE to do kickstart installations. I
want the ability to do "rescue" boots also with PXE. I've gone
looking at the current RH80 disk 1 which has this capability. It
has a directory called

Problem with mkisofs (i guess :-))
Hello! I have a problem with a bootable cd that i'm
trying to make ..
The problem is that i don't know what all the mkisofs
parameters do and because that weird things happen, if
the filenames or directorynames contain spaces they do
not open and if i'm in windows's safe mode it gives me
an error message stating that the file or folder does
not exist! Can anyone help with that?

nilo -> tftp-hpa interaction
I downloaded nilo and oskit from www.nilo.org.
Added pcnet32.c linux-2.0.39 driver to oskit.
Compiled nilo with pcnet32 and produced boot floppy image.
Use it inside vmware vm. My aim is to be able to test pxelinux using
vmware+nilo and not a real machine.
Floppy starts, detects nic, receives ip from dhcp server, requests boot
image to tftpd-hpa, then crashes when talking to tftp. Is

tftp-hpa 0.28, 0.29 interoperability problem
Hi,
I have a tftp client which loads quite happily from a tftpd built
from netkit-tftp-0.16 but which fails to load from from a tftpd built
from tftp-hpa 0.29. In both cases, tftpd was built from pristine
sources and run from xinetd under Redhat 7.3.
[netkit-tftp-0.16 is the ancestor of tftp-hpa, predating HPA's
maintenance of same]

root filesystem as ext3
I've turned my root filesystem to ext3 and also changed the filesystem
type in /etc/fstab. I initiated a powerfailure and watched booting. But
the kernel mounted root filesystem first read only as ext2 and does than
a fsck for ext2. The over partition, /boot and /vol1 (also ext3), are
handled as ext3. After booting all partitions, also /, were mounted as
ext3. But why root is checked as ext2?

[tftp-hpa] tftp exit status is always 0
Hi,
Now that it's possible to run tftp non interactively, it would
be nice to get a non zero exit status in case of failure.
Currently exit status is always 0, which makes tftp usage in
scripts a bit inconvenient, as one has to parse its output.
Thanks.
Please CC me, as I'm not on the list.
Felix.

Tftp-hpa-0.48 ACKs error messages from tftp server
I have observed that the tftp-hpa-0.48 tftp client sends an ACK in
case it receives an error message from a tftp server. Inspecting the
source code confirms this behaviour.
According to the tftp RFC (RFC 1350), Sect. 2, server error messages
should not be acknowledged by the client:
"Most errors cause termination of the connection. An error is
signalled by sending an error packet. This
