pxelinux.cfg/default
Can someone tell me what is supposed to go into pxelinux.cfg/default ? I get the intial transfer of pxelinux.0 to the client and I'm not really sure what is supposed to happen next.. I get an error msg about TFTP server does not support the tsize option, but that may be simply because the corret file isn't there to be transferred. Can I download the correct file from anywhere? I

Creating a bootable floppy

compiling pxelinux in elf
Hi I have used pxelinux successfully in some situations. However, I am unable to boot IBM NetVista thin clients using pxelinux. The kernel that does boot up these thin clients over the net is in elf format (it is called kernel.2200). # file kernel.2200 kernel.2200: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), statically linked, not stripped So, I would have liked to compile

QEMU virtualization and segment RPL
Hi, As something like VMI is expected to be supported soon by QEMU, I have a small question: does the virtualization API you are defining supports that the guest kernel code can be executed in ring 3 ? In QEMU for example, the guest kernel code can be executed either by the dynamic translator (in this case CS.rpl = 0 and SS.rpl = 0) or by the kqemu kernel module (in this case CS.rpl = 3 and

[PATCH v9 00/84] VM introspection
The KVM introspection subsystem provides a facility for applications running on the host or in a separate VM, to control the execution of other VMs (pause, resume, shutdown), query the state of the vCPUs (GPRs, MSRs etc.), alter the page access bits in the shadow page tables (only for the hardware backed ones, eg. Intel's EPT) and receive notifications when events of interest have taken place

recordPlot in 1.5.x, replayPlot in 1.6.0 problem
I have plots that were stored using recordPlot() in a fairly recent but pre-1.6.0 version of R that will not replayPlot() in R 1.6.0. The error message is Error in replayPlot(x) : invalid hex digit in color or lty The plots were stored in June (2002-6-14), each as an element of a list named 'rpl'. The version of R that was current then is what I used. At that time I was able to

I recently installed samba 1.9.18p8. Since then, we get the following error: "No domain server was available to validate your password. You may not be able to gain access to some network resources." after the server has been running for >48 hours. If I stop and restart the server, everything is ok again. Zooming in to a ggplot (a sort of ylim, but ylim won't do)
Dear Helpers, I wonder whether you might be able to help me. I have a plot composed of ggplot (and a follow on geom_smooth call). I would like to restrict the display range of the y axis to a smaller range, a sort of zooming onto a region. I attempted to use ylim, but it will effect the range (i.e. effect the geom_smooth call). Is there any way that I can save the results up to geom_smooth call

PXELINUX v. bpbatch
What is the difference between PXELINUX and bpbatch ? AFAICT, bpbatch doe not require a TFTP server which supports the 'tsize' option. So in the absence of such a server, I may need to explore bpbatch... It seems that bpbatch can be used to remotely boot DOS. Can PXELINUX also do this? -- John

an rsync question
Is there any way to have rsync compare against a file with a *different* name? What I'd like to do is compare a vm - whatsit.img against a backup - whatsit.current, that's a symlink to whatsit.timestamp, and if different, *then* make the copy (which my script will then move to whatsit.newtimestamp, and change the symlink to point to the new one, then remove the old (or maybe save an older

semget() failed
Hello, I'm trying to port RPL/2 (http://www.rpl2.net) to OS/2 and I don't understand OS/2 semget(). RPL/2 uses POSIX semaphores. I have written a minimal library that emulates POSIX semaphores with SysV ones. I have tested this library on several Unix systems without any trouble. On OS/2, semget() always returns -1 and I don't understand my mistake. int sem_init_SysV(sem_t
