pxelinux in Asus P55T2P4
Hi,
as a new user to pxelinux I'm having trouble booting an Asus P55T2P4
from an Intel Etherexpress Pro card with PXE bootrom.
I'm using pxelinux 2.04 (tried 2.05pre2 as well) with a Redhat 8.0
kernel (2.4.18) and ramdisk image (for pure testing purposes).
The Mainboard I use is a P55T2P4, Rev. 2, newest Bios 0207, 80MB Ram,
PCI VGA card and the EEPro.
dhcp,tftp work fine, pxelinux

pxelinux and http
Hello,
Is there any possibility pxelinux could have the ability to pull its
kernel/ramdisk/disk images/etc via http instead of tftp?
I would really like the ability to pxe boot a machine, have it tftp
pxelinux and its config file. Then, all the files listed in the config
file are pulled via http.

pxelinux+memdisk experience & problem..
hi:
i try to make some images for pxelinux+memdisk.
the version i try is 2.0.6 and 2.0.7pre5
for 2.88M floppy image, first i make a 1.44M boot floopy,
then use "winimage" to load the disk and transfer it to
2.88M format, then save the image. it seems a easy way to make
a 2.88M boot image.
for harddisk image, i use vmware to build a virtual machine
with 20M harddisk, make it boot

help getting recent pxelinux to work
I have a Dell 1550 that has Intel's 4.0.17 PXE 2.0 build 083. I am only able
to boot using pxelinux 0.67 and older. 0.70 gets to where it would load the
kernel and ramdisk and stops. Later releases just start spewing register
data non stop:
AX00000
BX00000
EX00000
and so on (numbers not real).
Normally I would look at the code and try to fix this myself but my x86 asm
skills are non

run pxelinux.0 on a booted system
I am trying to come up with a 'clever' way to pxe-boot boxes that don't have any
way to pxe boot. as in, old laptops that only have pc-mica nics.
"Etherboot does not (yet) offer support for PCMCIA cards."
http://www.etherboot.org/wiki/pcmcia_support
I am not trying to do 'that' - just trying to come up with a process to work
around it. Something like this:

pxelinux 2.11 unable to mount root fs
Hi,
I've been using PxeLinux to boot our Debian kernel successfully for
some time now. I recently increased the size of the ramdisk from about
484 MBs to 517 MBs and encountered the following error during bootup:

Freeing initrd memory: 105519k
EXT3-fs: Magic mismatch, very weird!

PXE -> tftp -> WinPE vs NForce 4
Hi
The setup, as in the subject, is supposed to boot a Winpe to install
xp to a clean PC.
I use the Ramdisk method (ie PXELinux pases the setup on to the M$
pxe loader and and boots WinPE)
It works perfectly with evry other chipset, but Nvidias NForce 4.
(tested 15 different)
With NF4 it loads up well but the M$ PnP routine detects the Network
management bus wrong (nvidia specific approach to

It is doable from dhcpd.conf, however when adding a node, one must do:
* add uuid entry to dhcpd.conf
* restart dhcp
It is not always desirable (or convinient) when managing

PXE boot hangs while transferring vmlinuz or initrd.img
Hi,
I have a user that is experiencing problems pxe booting several
identical servers. pxelinux.0 is from syslinux 3.63 and the TFTP
server is 0.42 running on CentOS 5.2.
After loading pxelinux.0, the client will then start transferring
vmlinuz and initrd.img via tftp. More than half the time, the
transfer will get stuck and then eventually print a timeout message.
I ran tcpdump and I can see

pxelinux.0 on pSeries
Hi,
I am new to this list, but would greatly appreciate any help on the topic.
We are trying to automate the build/installation of a pSeries machine
using kickstart server. We have a process in place that completes a
system build of xSeries machines. It uses pxelinux.0 to direct the
bootp to the kernel, ramdisk and kickstart.config file. I was trying
to use the same process to build the pSeries

TFTP & Network after booting kernel
Hello all,
We are trying to make our own NFSroot via PXELINUX without the e1000
ethernet module compiled into the kernel. All works fine, we have a ramdisk
that can setup networking from information provided by $ip, however I would
like to download the specific e1000.o via tftp before inserting it into to
the kernel. Since ramdisks are static I rather not have the situation where
we have to

Debugging memdisk loaded via pxelinux
I have a USB flash drive that I'd like to image, and then load that
image via pxelinux and memdisk. The flash drive was formatted under
Windows 98 SE as FAT, and boots just fine on its own. The PXE boot process
gets as far as loading the image via memdisk, but then when the boot process
switches over to the RAM disk, it fails:

Syslinux with two-disk set (boot+root )
Hello there.
I use (and love!) your syslinux software - also pxelinux and soon isolinux.
I have been using it for build deployment purposes for some time now,
however I recently updated my kernel and added some additional drivers to
it, making it too large to fit on a floppy along with my ramdisk. This is
no problem for my PXE-enabled clients, of course, but for those machines
that do not

Is there anything that controls the speed with which pxelinux.0 (4.03)

PXE booting BartPE ISO file to Eee Pc
So I've been playing with this for hours and still unable to get everything
working properly. In short I'm trying to boot an ISO image created by BartPE
over pxelinux. When I attempt to do this it goes directly to a blank screen
that just has a blinking cursor. Here's what my setup looks like:

source but with
