Multiboot DVD with original bootscreens kept intact
Hello, This is my first post ever in a mailing-list so I hope I do the things correctly. First, thank's to the author for these amazing tools. With Isolinux, I am making my own DVD multiboot with multiple liveCDs combined. I can get to work everything without even modifying livecds hierarchy. But now I need an important function that I can't get to work: DISPLAY boot.msg In fact to be

problem with PXElinux and security of local LAN
Hi. I want to use PXELinux to build a dynamic boot menu for a computer lab. Sometimes, the machines need to be in Linux mode/Windows mode/allow the option of Linux/Windows. I configured this all fine with PXELinux. My problem is really one of security. Someone can plug in a laptop with a DHCP server, and tftp server and fake a lab machine to boot into any mode they desire, or even

PXE floppy, PXELINUX and LOCALBOOT
Hi! A friend of mine has tried a PXE floppy (build from the new etherboot 5.3.12) to load PXELINUX.0; a menu voice of the pxelinux.cfg use the LOCALBOOT statement. Selecting this statement, the PC retry to boot from the floppy... is this normal? The user expected that LOCALBOOT would have tried the NEXT boot device (ie CDROM or HD), not the FIRST boot device (the floppy)... (note: this has

Reloading pxelinux via menu.c32
Hi All, I have used menu.c32 to offer several booting options to our users via pxelinux... the icing on the cake would be if there was some mechanism whereby the pxelinux boot could be restarted, with the usual search for pxelinux.cfg/... files... all without a reboot and going through POST. Does anyone know if this is possible or if a comboot module exists for such a thing ? Cheers, Doug

lme newbie question
Hi I try to implement a simple 2-factorial repeated-measure anova in the lme framework and would be grateful for a short feedback -my dependent var is a reaction-time (rt), -as dependent var I have -the age-group (0/1) the subject belongs to (so this is a between-subject factor), and -two WITHIN experimental conditions, one (angle) having 5, the other 3 (hands) factor-levels;

Can this be done with PXELinux?
Hi This is what I like to be able to do. 1. Computer boot on LAN, using PXELinux. 2. If the computer is booting for the first time it sends MAC adr, RAM, size of harddrive and name of videocard to a shared folder on a computer, maybe a server, that is attached to the network. 3. If this is not the first time it scan for a new task, could be a new ghostimage or an unattended installation of a

Syslinux malloc
I mentioned in a private email recently that it would be useful if syslinux had a malloc implementation. I have one now if anyone's interested. -- Hebe 2004-02-08 14:26:08.183 UTC (JD 2453044.101484) X = -1.159504592, Y = 2.015990327, Z = 0.638260245 X' = -0.010415779, Y' = -0.003652077, Z' = 0.001024628

SYSLINUX 2.08-pre1 released
Working on fixing lower-priority bugs that I didn't want to risk destabilizing the 2.07 release for: Changes in 2.08: * Add "timeoutcmd" to allow timeout to have a different action than just pressing Enter. * Fix bugs in the COMBOOT/COM32 command-line parsing. APPEND now works with COMBOOT/COM32 images.

Bugs in pxelinux.asm - syslinux 3.75
In pxelinux.asm the xchg instruction in xchg ax,ax . data_on_top: should be xchg ax,dx, I think At the end of pxe_get_cached_info routine, there is and ax,ax jnz .err It is supposed to test for AX status, but since pxenv does pushad and popad, AX doesn't contain status. In fact the other routines calling pxenv don't have this bug.

Using PXELINUX to boot WDS
I am trying to figure out a way to have a menu item in PXELINUX hand off control to WDS(Windows Deployment services 2008R2). Is this something that can be done with PXELINUX? So what I would like is a way to have PXELINUX and WDS work on the same network with PXELINUX being the main and booting WDS from a menu option in the pxelinux.cfg file. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

pxelinux and http
Hello, Is there any possibility pxelinux could have the ability to pull its kernel/ramdisk/disk images/etc via http instead of tftp? I would really like the ability to pxe boot a machine, have it tftp pxelinux and its config file. Then, all the files listed in the config file are pulled via http. multiple comboot files?
Is there a way for isolinux/syslinux to execute a list of comboot files immediately at startup, and only once? I have a bunch of small comboot .com files that I want to batch run immediately, then after that do a DISPLAY boot.msg similar in some ways to an autoexec.bat. For example: DEFAULT mycd APPEND ramdisk_size=100000 init=/etc/init lang=us .... TIMEOUT 300 ONSTARTUP mybatch <- ???

No thanks for breaking third-party applications
Hi *, I was just debugging why TFTP booting did not work any more on a system that had pxelinux.0 was updated. ?Since version 5.00, support for 16-bit COMBOOT modules has been dropped, and c32 modules switched from the COM32 object format to ELF.? Ugh. Well, updating the *.c32 files was enough to make the Linux discless thingy work again. BUT! The MirBSD bootloader actually took advantage of

INT22h/000Dh
Hi, I would like to use INT22h, function 000Dh, but I found that it is disabled in vector table: in core/comboot.inc: int22_table: [...] dw comapi_err ; 000D clean up then bootstrap [...] The code of this function is present in this file (comapi_chainboot). Why this function is disabled? Regards Piotr Romaniuk PS I am using syslinux-4.04.
