Making Syslinux boot with missing keyboard, but not disabled keyboard.
Hello together,
first thanks a lot for your work. It's quite useful on some projects. I
encouraged myself to ask you a question:
Think I've seen Syslinux booting fli4l on Systems without keyboard,
where "keyboard option" has been set to "not installed" in the Bios.
There are lot of boards around, e.g. with award bios like those 486 UMC
based on UMC 8881/8886, without

Memdisk wieder aus Speicher entfernen
Hallo,
Gibt
es eine M?glichkeit

VFS: Cannot open root device, pxelinux nfsroot
Hi everyone,
I got the error:
NET4: Unix domain sockets 1.0/smp for linux NET4.0

VFS: Cannot open root device ""or 08:03
Please append a correct "root"boot option
The strange thing is that it tries to mount from harddisk. This I got somewhere else:

Bootable CD Images
Hello there,
I have a question/suggestion.
I have a bootable CDRom and it comes up with an isolinux menu that lets me
pick from several different floppy images to boot Dos and several different
Linux Rescue Disks using memdisk. So far so good.
What I would like to be able to do is boot a bootable image that is not a
floppy image.
For example, DemoLinux is a 650MB iso file and when burned to

tftp-hpa 0.28, 0.29 interoperability problem
Hi,
I have a tftp client which loads quite happily from a tftpd built
from netkit-tftp-0.16 but which fails to load from from a tftpd built
from tftp-hpa 0.29. In both cases, tftpd was built from pristine
sources and run from xinetd under Redhat 7.3.
[netkit-tftp-0.16 is the ancestor of tftp-hpa, predating HPA's
maintenance of same]
[the tftp client also..
.. fails with the prebuilt tftpd

Bug in 1.75 PXE code
Hi!
I've spent the last days trying to get PXE working (with all the nice
stuff that's in the specification - doesn't work :-( )
So I tried the new 1.75 with the Intel DOSUndi Bootdisk (which should
verify that everything works correctly) but it does no longer work
with syslinux-1.75!
1.74 is fine - so I guess something is broken here ...
Please have a look at it - and let me know

Building a bootable floppy image > 1.44MB
Hi there!
After reading the last posting about creating a boot disk as non-root,
I have a question of my own:
Does anyone know a way to produce a floppy/harddisk image able to boot a
DOS environment (without using windows, vmware or other tools of that
kind)? Is it perhaps even possible to create larger disk images (>2.88MB)?
It's no problem to get an image with a DOS filesystem, but

SYSLINUX 3.31-pre3 released
After thinking a bit of the multi-file support in 3.31-pre1, and
considering a few users' feedback on the subject, I have made a couple
of changes:
1. The dummy filename ~ can be used to mean "the main config file".
2. There is a MENU INCLUDE directive now.

Classification Analysis
Hi everyone,
Could somebody explain to me what is the package/function for
classification analysis. I am performing analysis of music files in the form
of MIDI files. I end up with about 750 dependent variables from the
analysis, I also have a number of independent/grouping variables that I set
manually. What I would like is to be able to predict which group a
particular MIDI files belongs to

Samba 4 DC - no AES kerberos tickets - only arcfour
Hi,
I’ve been running a samba 4 DC for quite some time now, and while testing some kerberos related stuff, I noticed that all kerberos tickets I can get from the DC are of encryption type ?arcfour-hmac-md5“:
# kinit testuser1
testuser1 at S4DOM.TEST's Password:
# klist -v
Credentials cache: FILE:/tmp/krb5cc_0
Ticket etype: arcfour-hmac-md5, kvno 1

[PATCH 1/1] COM32: lua - enable (parts of) liolib
Hi again,
the attached patch (re-)enables parts of lua's liolib.c, especially
io.write() for formatted output (similar to printf() ):
Example:
-- define printf() function
printf = function(s,...)
return io.write(s:format(...))
end -- function
printf("Hallo, this is hex %04x\n", 64321)
Bye,
Marcel

How do I get an ssh client to authenticate with samba4's kerberos GSSAPI?
Hi,
I am doing some kerberos testing with samba4 using ssh. I have setup
samba4 using the howto at http://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba4/HOWTO and
active directory seems to be working both with Windows and Linux clients.
ssh unfortunately is not kerberos authenticating via GSSAPI. The client
krb5.conf contains this:

Samba 4 and MS Windows NFS Server (2012R2) - Update
Hi again,
I just started to debug things on the samba4 side:
When trying to mount the Windows NFS share, I get the following error on
the samba4 dc (just grepping for nfs in the logs):
auth_check_password_send: Checking password for unmapped user [S5DOM.TEST]\[nfs/nfsclient.mydom.test]@[]
map_user_info_cracknames: Mapping user [MYDOM.TEST]\[nfs/nfsclient.mydom.test] from workstation []

nfs based shared home dir question
Hai..
I need to have my home dirs shared over some of my servers.
I did setup a nfs4 kerberos base
Debian jessie, samba 4.1.17 and sernet samba 4.1.3 on these servers.
This works, i can mount without problems.
But because verything is created with the windows user tools, the owner/Group is root.
Like this
Server:
ls -al
drwxrwx---+ 2 root root 4096 Sep 4 13:17

tap:aio not working...
I''m running SLES10 SP1 and have been using file:/ for my file-backed domUs. The domUs sit on a shared OCFS2 SAN-backed filesystem and are run on my three or four XEN servers. I''m having issues with the loopback devices not being released when the domUs shutdown or migrate, so I decided to switch over to tap:aio for my file-backed domUs. This isn''t working, either.
