[XCP] Network confusion
Hello,
I am using XCP 1.0 and am accessing it with XenCenter.
I have three NIC''s and I have bonded two of them through the XenCenter frontend. I then create a VLAN using XenCenter and attach it to the bond0. I create a VM and create its NIC to use VLAN 10, which it does and when the VM boots the NIC shows Active inside of XenCenter. When I look at the XCP host it shows VLAN 10 as an

Bug#682216: Bug #682216 document about VLAN configuration on dom0
Hi,
After reading XenServer documents and debugging, I found the previous
configuration is correct, here is the one I've configured to work:
In XCP, as in XenServer, system's network configuration doesn't really
matter, it only make sense before XCP starts and handles the network
settings. So there is no need to configure VLAN on host machine, and
you only need a minimal one active

[XCP] XCP 1.6 Upgrade and Functionality Questions
I have a couple of questions regarding XCP:
First, there were rumblings that there are issues upgrading XCP (1.5 ->
1.6)? Any further detail on these potential issues, or what needs to be
done to get around them?
Second, it previous versions of XCP there were tricks that had to be
played (documented on the Wiki) to make XenCenter believe that XCP was
actually a modern version of XenServer,

XCP - xenserver tools required?
One of the issues I''ve had using XenServer in a multitenant environment is
the requirement for the VMs to have xentools installed as it causes
significant issues when upgrading the VM OS or the pool from one version
of XenServer (XCP) to another. Having to touch hundreds VMs (by hand)
after an upgrade just doesn''t scale nor is delegating the task to VM
owners an option.

XCP: Heterogenous CPU support inside of Xencenter?
If XCP supports Heterogenour CPU''s and Xencenter only supports it with
advanced editons, how will XCP handle it when being used with Xencenter. I
have a bunch of different Intel Cpu''s with different steppings and would
like to be able to live migrate from within xencenter. Now I have to use
the cli commands with my xenserver network and force the migration, but

[XCP] XCP network and VLAN by Open vSwitch
Hello Everyone,
I am new with XCP.
I''ve setup several hosts with* XCP 1.0* and manage it through XenCenter and
command console.
Each host has two NICs, one (xenbr0) connected to a physical switch for
Internet (said sw1), the other (xenbr3) connected to a physical switch for
internal network (said sw2).
I am trying to setup VMs and VLANs on xenbr3.
I created a virtual bridge by

Anyone here using the XCP 1.0 Storage EqualLogic has the dell? In
Citrix XenServer Xencerter appears to integration, but in XenCenter

[Xen-API] Frequent I/O error of HTTP server and memory error on XenServer5.6 FP1
Hi,
I am using XenServer5.6 FP1 GA release with openvswitch as network
backend. When I create VM through xapi, "apache.xmlrpc.XmlRpcException:
I/O error" happens very frequently. At meanwhile my xencenter lost
connection to hosts.
Another thing is when I tried to kill VMs from xencenter, it
complains "Internal error:Sys_error("Thread.create: Cannot allocate

XCP and P2V
Hello,
I am quite new on XCP.
At first, i had a Xenserver server but i am looking for a full open
source solution and of course I discovered XCP.

Xencenter.
I''m trying to P2V an existing ( old Mandriva ) server to XCP.
I tried differents things, all without success.

Any GUI for XCP?
Hello,
I am trying/evaluating XCP to manage our virtualization servers. Now, I
have installed it in a test server and as far as I can see, it is very
similar to XenServer, but I can''t manage it with XenCenter graphical
console.
Is there any GUI for XCP? I could connect with OpenXenCenter, but it
still isn''t mature to be useful.
Or do I have to use with xe commands?

[XCP/Kronos/XenSource] Fast cloning with copy-on-write
I''ve just been playing with XenSource and Kronos packages, but the fast
cloning ability from XenServer doesn''t appear to be available. Where does
this come from exactly, is it something built into Xen or is there a
component of XenServer that''s needed to handle it?
I was hoping to use Xen on Debian with my web app controlling it using
either XAPI or Libvirt, but I

Restrict XCP use XenCenter?
Dear all,
How to make XCP cannot management by XenCenter?
We have an environment about 10 XCP host,
and provide about 50 vm for users,
We notice that some users want to use XenCenter to connect the XCP host,
even they don’t have password,
so we want to make XCP cannot use XenCenter and only for console management,
is it possible?
Sorry for the strange question,

XCP eserver xSeries 336 support
Hi.
We look to switch from XenServer, as it latest versions do not run on
our eserver xSeries 336 server.
Does the XCP 1.1 fully support this hardware?
Also, any idea how well the Xen tools, such as XenCenter and Xen HW->VM
tools supported in 1.1 release?
I seen there is a feature called XAPI that makes the XCP look as
fully-featured XenServer.
Thanks.

XCP - how to login to VM locally on host machine (not using XenCenter)
Hello everyone,
I have XCP installed on a machine, with a guest OS running windows 7. Is there a way to login locally on the host machine itself (as opposed to using the console view in XenCenter?). The reason I am asking is that I am trying to look at interactions between Xen and graphics cards, and I want to make sure that the graphics card is being used ( as opposed to rendering through RDP).

XCP templates and thin provisioning
Hello all!
This is my first mail here, so if I make some obvious mistakes, I apologise
in advance.
I just tried XCP in the last days and I must say that besides the standard
inconveniences, it''s really cool and nice.
I''m unclear about templates though, does it use standard xencenter
templates? If yes, how can I install those templates that I find are
missing? Do I need a

Xen 4.2 with xcp-xapi - operation not permitted
New build with Ubuntu 13.04 and Xen 4.2. Installed XCP-XAPI as the plan was
to use XenCenter to manage the installation.
I pretty much followed this guide here:

Bug#677614: xcp-xapi: someone should create /etc/default/xen
Package: xcp-xapi
Version: 1.3.2-6
Severity: important
Looks like on Wheezy, /etc/default/xen is not created by xen-utils-common. Since xcp-xapi depends on its existence and further declaration of the toolstack in it, it should take extra care to ensure that it is present.
root at debian:~# aptitude install xcp-xapi
The following NEW packages will be installed:
blktap-dkms{a} blktap-utils{a}

Why is XenCenter telling me to register my XCP box?
I think the title says it all :)
I got far enough along in the Xen documentation that the documentation recommended me to start using XenCenter to manage the server.
Why am I being asked by XenCenter to register my XCP 1.0 server? I know it''s similar, but it''s not a Citrix XenServer... ;)

XCP and OpenXenCenter
I just noticed OpenXenCenter (aka OpenXenManager) that is an open source
replacement for Citrix's XenCenter. This tool works with XenServer.
But as per the blog entry:
http://blog.xen.org/index.php/2010/02/09/xen-cloud-platform-installation/
it is also supposed to work with Xen Cloud Platform. XCP is licensed
GPL2 and is a combination of multiple packages.
Has the team looked at the
