loop function within a loop
Hi all,
I'm working on a loop function for a large dataset which contains 1000
different groups. I would like to reconstruct the order of events within
each group by using a loop function in R. (Currently the order of events are
based on the ascending order of prev_event within the group)
A demo data frame:
event prev_event group

timeout issue
Hi,
I have 2 linux machines on a Gig network. What would be the reason for
getting a timeout error. We have --timeout=600 in the command. The version
of
rsync is 2.6.2. There are no evident network problems otherwise.
The command used is
rsync -a --delete --timeout=600 --stats --rsh="ssh -p 22" /localdata/
server:/remotedata/
io timeout after 600 seconds - exiting

Capture R-Console Output to Excel with RExcel
Hello All
I've just started to use RExcel instead of CMD Batches. But I don't get
the console output to an data.frame and push to Excel.
With the CMD batch you got the console out relatively easy with
C:\LocalData\R\bin\R CMD BATCH --slave %rscript% %logfile%
to a file. But how can I get it to Excel with RExcel an VBA?
Thanks,
Dario

thunderbird detach attachment
Hi all,
Thunderbird has an option to detach attachments from (for example) sent
items. I've tried it, and it does not work, and also in the dovecot logs
I don't see anything interesting meanwhile.
Before looking deeper into this: Does anyone here know if this option is
known to work, or not?
We're running dovecot 2.1.7 on debian wheezy.
Removing unwanted attachments is a nice

Sieve scripts not replicated
Hi,
FWIW this was also reported back in August[1] - experienced with 2.3.2.1
(not sure if earlier 2.3 releases were affected) and currently
reproducible with latest 2.3.3 stable release.

Hello,
I use dovecot replication and the sieve scripts are not replicated. Mail
replication is working fine.

Weird problem with trying to change a variable
I have a dataframe called cvar, with two variables (among many others)
called MSA and ACTUP. Both are numeric. This was working fine. Then I
found out that for two MSAs, ACTUP should be 1, not 0.
so I tried
cvar$ACTUP[cvar$MSA == 6840] <- 1
cvar$ACTUP[cvar$MSA == 5360] <- 1
but when I try
table(cvar$MSA, cvar$ACTUP)
the level of ACTUP for those two MSAs has not changed, and is still

Rebalance state stuck or corrupted
We have had a rebalance operation going on for a few days. After a couple
days the rebalance status said "failed". We stopped the rebalance operation
by doing gluster volume rebalance gv0 stop. Rebalance log indicated gluster
did try to stop the rebalance. However, when we try now to stop the volume
or try to restart rebalance it says there's a rebalance operation going on

Help / Suggestions on how to migrate to AD from smbpasswd
Hello,
I have an older standalone Samba 3.0.14 system (security = user) with
local users and local home directories and shares. This uses another
'legacy' system for adding linux users accounts. I then use the pam
plug-in pam_smbpass <pam_smbpass.so migrate> to create a smbpasswd
entry for users.
The UID's up to 8765 are currently in use ie:

Samba 3.5.6 pam problems
Hi,
I've setup Samba 3.5.6 as a member server in a 2003R2 domain with a
single dc, idmapping is by rfc2307 with a tdb backend for builtin
accounts etc, I can list users and groups using wbinfo and I can
create shares and access them from the windows server, files and
folders owned by ad users show the correct user and group names so
mapping appears to be working, I can su to ad accounts but I

NetWorkSpace from REvolution; Distributed Computing setup questions
***Summary:***
I'm setting up a cluster using netWorkSpace, and I'm having issues
with the sleigh initialization. My R function to initialize the sleigh
succeeds and the sleigh appears to be ready, but I get apparently
conflicting information from "status(s)", "rankCount(s)", and "s"; and
basic sleigh functions cause the sleigh to hang indefinitely.
