Where do I stick the PARTIAL flag in xappy?
I want to be able to do searches with FLAG_PARTIAL and some without. Most searches without but with the PARTIAL for an autocomplete widget. I'm using xappy and I can't find where to send the flag when I build up the query. The docs talk of setting up the database with or without FLAG_PARTIAL but that's probably not what I want. Peter

Something to think about
I'm planning to add multiple-database support for searches to my "Xappy" python wrapper (more on this wrapper later, but for now, see http://code.google.com/p/xappy for details). This is reasonably straightforward, because Xapian supports this nicely: except that "Xappy" generates a "fieldname->prefix" mapping automatically. The prefix which corresponds

Distance between points and a polygon?
Dear R users, I know that this could easily be solved within a GIS-package, but sometimes it's more convenient to use R. So here's my question anyway... Does anyone of you know about any R-functions/code that calculates the distance between a number points and a polygon or polyline? I have looked thru the different libraries that deals with spatial statistics but haven't found

Get a list of all terms in an indexed corpus
Hello, I have a corpus that I have indexed with xapian/xappy and I would now like to generate a corpus-specific list of stopwords. (This is a technical corpus, so a typical stopword list wouldn't be helpful.) My first thought was to ask the xapian database for a list of terms followed by their frequency. My intuition is that I could probably bring together a list of stopwords by examining

[python indexer] add meta informations
Hello, I'm trying to index some blog stuff through python bindings. I'd like to know how to add some informations (url, title, date, and so on) so that I can reach them through a xapian.Enquire object.. I believe it's something to be set in xapian.TermGenerator(), but... I can't manage to find which function. I'm waiting for something like : xtermgen.add_meta('url',

PHP / XapianQueryParser
Hi everyone, I tried sending a message as a reply a while back on my previous topic, but it didn't go through. (Tried Gmane), not even when I 'authorized' the reply. So I'll just paste it here for reference, below this message. It might help some people. But now I have one other small problem, and I'm not sure if it is actually my mistake (although I'm pretty sure it is

QueryParser lowercase / uppercase and stemming
Hello. There are several problems I couldn't find a solution. 1. QueryParser does not perform stemming I am working with PHP5 and use the xapian wrapper written by Daniel M?nard I build a query using parseQuery. Output of the parsed query shows that terms are not stemmed, although a stemmer is set ( see code snippet) # create a XapianDatabase object to search in $db = new

modifying the DB while iterating is user error, right?
Hello, I noticed a problem with DatabaseCorruptError exceptions with public-inbox and I guess it's user error... The problem is public-inbox was calling replace_document to modify the DB while iterating through a PostingIterator. At first I thought it was a glass problem, but I've hit it with chert on my dataset, too. I have a standalone Perl script to reproduce the problem at

Database Corrupt Error
I am getting this error when trying to remove a document from my Xapian database via writabledatabase_delete_document: "DatabaseCorruptError: Db block overwritten - are there multiple writers?" There might have been two processes trying to write to it earlier today, but currently only one process can touch it at a time, and I still receive the error. Is there a fast way to fix this

A xapian problem
Hello folks- I have an issue with my Xapian index, and I am hoping someone can help me out with some ideas. I am running Xapian on Debian Squeeze as part of an openPLM installation. It is a django application that uses Postgresql as the database, and Haystack as the search engine. A couple of weeks ago, I misconfigured a crontab, and it made a recursive backup that filled up the hard drive
