ASTCC error on free calls
I set up certain routes in my ASTCC application to be free of charge. When
a user attempts to dial one of these numbers, the announcement plays the
prompts "This call will cost", "nothing", and then terminates the script,
dropping the call, leaving the card locked in the database as being in use.
Any ideas?
Sincerely,

AGI to announce temperature from weather.com XML file
I would like to have the ability to have Asterisk announce the temperature
-- not using TTS -- within the dialplan.
For a non-Asterisk project, I have a cron job that periodically pulls down
an XML file from weather.com containing local weather data (TWC's user
agreement requires that data be cached locally). Using sed, I also create a
text file that contains only the numeric value of the

Problem with Avaya 4602 / SIP response 481
I have an Avaya 4602 IP phone that was previously working with Asterisk. It
was being used elsewhere for several months, and I recently set it up again
to work with Asterisk. Everything works fine for several minutes -- I am
able to receive and make calls as expected. However, after a few minutes,
and every few minutes thereafter, I get the following message on the
console:

Unable to transfer external calls to MeetMe conference
I have a peculiar situation, and am hoping someone on the list can offer
assistance. I am running CVS HEAD, and am using ITSPs for DIDs. The server
has no Zap hardware, but is configured to use ztdummy. All incoming calls
are via IAX2.
Calls ring to SIP phones, voice mail, IVR, etc., with no trouble. I am also
able to transfer calls among my SIP devices, voice mail, IVR, etc. All of

Unable to transfer external calls to MeetMeconference (re-post)
This message was just bounced back to me. I am not sure if it made
it to the list originally or not, as I received no responses.
Since this message was written, I have installed Zap hardware into
this server. The Zap channels can be transferred to the Meetme
conference. The IAX2 calls still cannot.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Trevor Hammonds

Network Install Problems
Installation over the network has seemingly failed, for the second time.
Everything goes smoothly until about 1/3 to 1/2 of the way through the
downloading packages stage, at which point it hangs (both times its been
8% through a package, not sure if this is of any significance, 1st time

I set the install to look on the mirror.centos.org site and use the

Understanding Call Handling In Asterisk
Hi,
I am a newbie to Asterisk; need help understanding three-way conferencing &
call-transfer features implemented over standard extensions i.e. on a
TDM800P card (4 FXO + 4FXS)
In Asterisk I have observed that if an extension is already participating in
an active call (e.g. Ext A & Ext B communicating):

Using the PBX Directory from a Blackberry
Hi All,
A couple of customers called complaining that folks were dialing into
their PBX trying to use the Directory to locate users, from a
Blackberry, and getting frustrated due to the incompatibility of
dialing alpha characters on the the qwerty keyboard and not getting
through.
The issue of course is the Directory application only recognizes
numeric digit tones, not alpha characters (not sure

Monthly spins torrents ??
http://buildlogs.centos.org/monthly/7/
A very useful resource. Updates takes less time after install.
Just curious if there are torrents for them?
I could commit to running a single seed for the x86_64 "everything" ISO.
I dd them onto USB sticks for people (personally recommend the 16GB
Mushkin Atom - even when installing from USB2 the media verification is

RHEL torrents 64?
I've been working on my first install of Xen all morning. I grabbed
the RHEL rpms torrent from
http://www.xensource.com/xen/downloads/dl_x30rhel4_bt.html yesterday.
I've tried a few tutorials and I have the same results, a kernelpanic
and a quick reboot (can't see what the error is). After some poking
around, it looks like al lthe xen stuff has a 64 in it. Are those

Don't forget to use torrents for your downloads!
For those who may forget, usin torrents to download and share the new
images will get you faster downloads (if enough folks participate) if
you have a "fat" pipe and alleviate the load on the CentOS servers.
I have a "chubby" pipe (~ 1.2MB/sec) and got the stuff really quickly
earlier today.
If your torrent has distributed hash table capability, I suggest that
you also use
