cs & gfs
Hi all,
I was informed[1] that gfs & rhcs packages are in the works but that there are some problems with the code. What are these problems? Can we do anything to help test / solve them?

Kernel update and csgfs
My apologies if this is a stupid question, but I'm not familiar with
how kernel updates and kernel modules interact.
I see that there are some kernel updates available via yum:

Modules installed in the wrong directory
I did a yum install of modules from the CentOS-csgfs repository
(GFS-kernel, cman-kernel, etc). Modprobe does not find the modules.
Upon investigation, I found that modprobe is looking in:
/lib/modules/2.6.9-22.0.1.ELsmp/
while the package files were installed to:
/lib/modules/2.6.9-22.0.1.EL/
Can I tell modprobe to use those modules somehow?
Are modules for the smp kernel available?
Or do I

csgfs repo problem
I just took a brand new CentOS 4.2 x86_64 install, updated all of the
base packages with yum, and then added the csgfs repo and attempted to
install those packages.
When I do the installation, I have a problem with one package:
# yum install perl-Net-Telnet

more than one repo with --disablerepo
What's the correct syntax for something like the following:
yum check-update --disablerepo=dag ivazquez Extras Misc
this runs "dead" and doesn't do a check-update. Use kommas? Something
else? man just tells to use glob exp, but what about multiple repo's?

Problem after last update
Hello list.
Since morning I have an emergency. After last kernel update one of my
servers didn't start. On display I see only "GRUB" :(
I have 2 more servers based on CentOS too, but after the same update
this servers works.
All servers have 2 HDs and works as software mirror.
I have started damaged machine using Knoppix and I can see partitions
and data on both disks. Of course I

CentOS + GFS + EtherDrive
I am considering building a pair of storage servers that will be using
CentOS and GFS to share the storage from a Coraid (SATA+Raid) EtherDrive
shelf. Has anyone else tried such a setup?
Is GFS stable enough to use in a production environment?
There is a build of GFS 6.1 at http://rpm.karan.org/el4/csgfs/. Has anyone
used this? Is it stable?
Will I run into any problems if I use CentOS 3.5

Update csgfs without breaking things
Now that the csgfs repo has been updated to support the new kernel, I'm
looking at doing updates again. I just want to do it without breaking
things (if possible). I can handle doing a bit of trial and error, but I
figure that if you guys can point out any obvious pitfalls, that can save me
quite a bit of time.
I'm looking at doing the following install/update:

yum updates
I am trying to update my cluster servers to a newer kernel. As the
csgfs stuff is not updated for 2.6.9-34.0.2.EL yet, I have to use
2.6.9-34.0.1.EL.
If I specify to update the cluster packages, yum will automatically
find the proper kernel package to meet the dependency. The problem is
that I also need the kernel-smp-devel package installed so that I can
build a new AoE driver. It doesn't

AoE LVM2 DRBD Xen Setup
Hello everybody,
I am in the process of setting up a really cool xen serverfarm. Backend
storage will be an LVMed AoE-device on top of DRBD.
The goal is to have the backend storage completely redundant.

OCFS and LVM2
Hi Everyboy !
I read that LVM2 is not cluster aware (specially with OCFS2) from different
post on internet forum... If it's true, could someone could confirm this
information and point me where i can find this affirmation in documentation
?
I do some test with OCFS2 on LVM2 and it's seems to run correctly , so i
have some interrogation about this fact !
If it's true that LVM2 are

csgfs update for 4.5
Anybody here know when there is going to be an update for the cluster
packages for the 2.6.9-55.0.2 kernel that was released in June? The
packages available from the repo are compiled against 2.6.8-55.
I want to update my GFS cluster to CentOS 4.5, but I don't want to do
such a major upgrade and leave out the kernel packages.

DRBD+GFS - Logical Volume problem
Hi list.
I am dealing with DRBD (+GFS as its DLM). GFS configuration needs a
CLVMD configuration. So, after syncronized my (two) /dev/drbd0 block
devices, I start the clvmd service and try to create a clustered
logical volume. I get this:
On "alice":
[root at alice ~]# pvcreate /dev/drbd0
Physical volume "/dev/drbd0" successfully created
[root at alice ~]# vgcreate

LVM Input/output error
Hi,
I recently installed centos for the first time and I like it!
Also, I just started working with lvm. The following warnings
are genertated whenever I run one of lvm commands on the external
usb disk (MyBook by Western Digital).
* What could be the source for those messages?
* Should I worry about them (writing into the created LV's
seems to work)?
* If yes, how to fix them?

how to access lvm inside lvm
I have a centos 5.6 server that has xen domUs installed on their on
logical volumes. These logical volumes contain their own volume groups
and again their own logical volumes. I want to access the domU logical
volumes and tried this:
[root at kr ~]# fdisk -l /dev/VolGroup00/LogVol02
Disk /dev/VolGroup00/LogVol02: 274.8 GB, 274877906944 bytes
