Thanks
Thanks for the help guys. To resize my screen I had to go through the GUI
part and change it but unlike Microsoft it makes me reboot in order for it
to take affect which sucks. The Ctrl Alt +/- does not work.
As for adding a printer someone finally gave me the link to the correct
document which showed how to do it. I received a link where you can download
the CentOS manual in PDF format:

Ctrl Alt +/-
I guess my CentOS is screwed up because that function doesn't work. Only way
to resize it was to go into the menu areas and set it there.

WOW
I couldn't help but take notice at some of the responses that were coming in
from when I was posting questions due to my ignorance of Linux. Some people
were quick to help, some advanced users I am sure ignored me because im not
worth their time, and then some other users tried to help but was unable to
dumb their speech down to newb levels. However I am thankful that there is

Backing up CentOS
Can anyone suggest a good open source/free backup software that works on
CentOS? I was reading through the manuals on how to back things up and it
said do 1 of 2 things. Buy a 3rd party software packages or make one from
source. Well I have no clue how to do the 2nd option and I don't want to
spend any money so I figured I would as you gurus. BTW I am newb so easier
the software the better.

How to find your IP Address
Ok guys a quick newb question. I have been reading up on the Red Hat
Enterprise 4 for dummies book along with installing and playing with the
configurations of Cent OS 4. I have yet been able to find any information on
how to find out what your IP address is. I have it set to use DHCP from our
Windows server and I looked under the network card configuration settings
but can not find any command or

can't change login screen resolution
After boot up, on the login screen, I can't seem to find how to change the
resolution. I've have it set at one resolution after login for all users,
but still, the login screen remains the same. It's a bit annoying because
I get a warning message from my monitor of incorrect settings and
sometimes it wacks out. I think the refresh rate is what is causing it.
Thanks.

Things I would like to see.
For the future if possible i'd like to see a couple of things in icecast.
1) being able to create/edit/delete static mount points from the web interface without neededing to edit the config file and restarting the server from a shell account. Like you can do right now with usernames and passwords
2) Be able to create/edit/delete relays from web interface (same as above)
I don't know if

Permissions
I am trying to figure out how permissions work in Linux. In windows if I
want someone to have access to something you put their name in a group then
give that group access to that folder. However things can get difficult when
you have an office with a folder structure like this:
Taxoffice--->Names---> Private. Everyone in the group would need access to
the Taxoffice folder and names folder

Switching screen resolution on the fly
Is there any way other than CTL ALT + and CTL ALT -
to set and or change the resolution of the X server when I want to.
Is there a way to so take me to "1920x1080" mode and then later
take me to "1366x768" mode.
With xvidtune I see the -next and -prev options but I was hoping for
jumping to specific modes. I so realize I can also edit out unwanted modes
in the xorg.conf but

how to constrast with factorial experiment
Hello, R users,
I have two factors (treat, section) anova design experiment where
there are 3 replicates. The objective of the experiment is to test if
there is significant difference of yield between top (section 9 to 11)
and bottom (section 9 to 11) of the fruit tree under treatment. I
found that there are interaction between two factors. I wonder if I
can contrast means from levels of

Multiplex tests fail on 5.2p1
I noticed "make tests" for openssh-5.2p1 fails the multiplex.sh tests.
Turns out this is because I happen to have some non-standard configuration
options in $HOME/.ssh/config and most of the multiplex.sh tests do not use
a "-F $OBJ/ssh_config" option, which means they end up reading the users
$HOME/.ssh/config.
Is this on purpose or a bug?

Significance of slopes
Hello R community,
I have a question regarding correlation and regression analysis. I have
two variables, x and y. Both have a standard deviation of 1; thus,
correlation and slope from the linear regression (which also must have
an intercept of zero) are equal.
I want to probe two particular questions:
1) Is the slope significantly different from zero? This should be easy

Get your SXCE on ZFS here!
With the release of the Nevada build 90 binaries, it is now possible to install SXCE directly onto a ZFS root filesystem, and also put ZFS swap onto a ZFS filesystem without worrying about having it deadlock. ZFS now also supports crash dumps!
To install SXCE to a ZFS root, simply use the text-based installer, after choosing "Solaris Express" from the boot menu on the DVD.
