Sale plano sí.
Ya se que sin tener los datos y el código es un poco difícil, pero es que mis datos ocupan mucho, es imposible.
Seguiré mirando por internet.
Muchas gracias Rubén.

Decimal point as a comma in postcript and pdf graphics
Hi,
after a lengthy but unsuccessfull search I couldn't come up with a solution to
the following problem:
I would like to have a "comma" instead of a "point" as the decimal point in my
graphics, i.e. postscript and pdf files, for I write my thesis in German. My
system is:
OS: Debian Unstable
R-Version: 2.0.1
System locale: de_DE at euro
Could someone, please, help

plot() and Jpeg() increase font size and resolution
Dear list,
I am having troubles increasing the fontize when plotting a
variogram{gstat} and its model (vgm) with plot and using jpeg(). Also
the resolution in the jpeg call does not work. I am using R2.4 on
Mandriva 10.2 linux.
I can change fontsize with cex.axis in a normal plot, so I presume it
has to do with plotting the variogram model. Any help on how to increase
the font size and

Add a density line to a cumulative histogram - second try
Hi list,
this is my second try for first post on this list (I tried to post via email
and nothing appeared in my email-inbox, so now I try to use the
nabble-web-interface) - I hope that you will only have to read one post in
your inbox! Okay, my question ...
I was able to plot a histogram and add the density()-line to this plot.
I was able to plot a cumulative form of this histogram.
Yet, I was

LIDAR Problem in R (THANKS for HELP)
Hi All,
I am a PhD student in forestry science and I am working with LiDAR data set
(huge data set). I am a brand-new in R and geostatistic (SORRY, my
background it?s in forestry) but I wish improve my skill for improve myself.
I wish to develop a methodology to processing a large data-set of points
(typical in LiDAR) but there is a problem with memory. I had created a
subsample data-base but

Root Access rights after smbmount
Hello,
I am using samba 1.9.18p10 in conjunction with a 2.0.36 kernel (SuSE-Linux
distribution 6.0). After I mount an NT share with smbmount in the following
way...
smbmount //server/share /home/test -U User -P password -D Domain -u 0 -g 200 -f
664 -d 775
... the whole share gets mounted with absolutely no rights (0000). The "ls -l
/home" shows this:

Postcript font size
Hello
I'm doing a number of plots and in all of them I'm specifying the same
font size. However, comparing one plot to the other, they have fonts of
different sizes, so it appears some scaling is being done.
I tried using both postcript(pointsize = ...) and par(ps = ...), but the
results were the same.
Is there a way to specify a font size that is consistent among calls to
plot()?

How to enable Arial font for postcript/pdf figure on Windows?
Hi,
I need to generate some figure using the Arial font as a requirement for
PLoS.
Following their guidelines, I have converted the windows font files
arial.tff files to .afm using tff2afm (exec file from MikTeX), but when I
try to generate a postcript file, the postcript device does not recognize
the .afm files.
The code I use to test the new font is the following:

postcript file / xyplot function [Broadcast]
This is FAQ 7.22. Lattice functions produce graphic objects, which are not
displayed by default. If you print your graph, you should be fine. Also,
take a look at the documentation for panel.xyplot. Using type = c("p", "r")
should make things simpler.

Matt Wiener

problem with PDF/postcript, cannot change paper size: "‘mode(width)’ and ‘mode(height)’ differ between new and previous"
Hi,
The pdf function would not let me change the paper size and gives me
the following warning:
pdf("figure.pdf", width="6", height="10")
Warning message:
?mode(width)? and ?mode(height)? differ between new and previous
==> NOT changing ?width? & ?height?
If I use the option paper = "a4r", it does not give me a warning
but still prints on a

[R-sig-Geo] plot() and Jpeg() increase font size and resolution
Thanks to Edzer and Roger,
I can now plot with increased font sizes. However, jpeg still does not
reproduce these, nor does it show up in high quality. What I would like
to do is produce some highresolution jpegs.
Any help would be appreciated
Thanx

Crosstabs in R
Before I reinvent the wheel, I have need for a relatively straightforward
crosstabulation (2 x n) function. I know that R has table(), ftable(),
xtabs(), and summary(xtabs()), but none of these produce a fully "tricked"
out cross-tabulation with marginal totals, expected cell frequencies, and
an array of statistics about the contingency table.
Is there a more complete (something

Question on Simultaneous Equations & Forecasting
Hi Frances,
I have not touched the system.fit package for quite some time, but to solve your problem the following two pointers might be helpful:
1) Recast your model in the revised form, i.e., include your identity directly into your reaction functions, if possible.
2) For solving your model, you can employ the Gau?-Seidel method (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gauss%E2%80%93Seidel_method).

Question on Simultaneous Equations & Forecasting
Frances,
I would not advise Gauss-Seidel for non linear models. Can be quite tricky, slow and diverge.
You can write your model as a non linear system of equations and use one of the nonlinear solvers.
See the section "Root Finding" in the task view NumericalMathematics suggesting three packages (BB, nleqslv and ktsolve). These package are certainly able to handle medium sized models.

Question on Simultaneous Equations & Forecasting
Who was speaking about non-linear models in the first place???
The Klein-Model(s) and pretty much all simultaneous equation models encountered in macro-econometrics are linear and/or can contain linear approximations to non-linear relationships, e.g., production functions of the Cobb-Douglas type.
Best,
Bernhard
