ruby xapian bindings and windows
Hi, I've compiled xapian 1.0.9 (core and buildings) on Windows Xp, using Lemur's nmake files[1]. I'm trying to use acts_as_xapian [2] on RubyOnRails, but I'm facing a problem with the rebuild index process. in acts_as_xapian, to rebuild the index, a new Xapian::WritableDatabase is created with a different path, then flush() is invoked; lastly, the new path is renamed to the old

Xapian has turned 20! Strictly speaking it was 20 years ago last month but I managed to miss the true anniversary - the oldest commit in the Xapian repo is: commit 8ced76ea128c8fb2792477e09b41fa989f2e572f Author: Richard Boulton <richard at tartarus.org> Date: Fri Sep 10 09:50:40 1999 +0000 Martins initial code, which didn't work for him but did for me. Back then Richard,

Hi all, As per subject line. The new build files for 1.0.9 are available from http://lemurconsulting.com/Products/Xapian/Overview.shtml I've not tested these extensively, although they appear to pass the smoke test, so any test reports would be welcome. Cheers Charlie

[LLVMdev] Cambridge LLVM Social
Hello again LLVM people in Cambridge (or London, or places similarly easily accessible on the train), We plan on holding the next Cambridge LLVM social on Wednesday the 20th of June, from 7:30pm onwards, in The Cambridge Blue: http://www.the-cambridgeblue.co.uk/blueroadmap.html The pub does food as well as beer, so at least some of us will be eating there. [LLVMdev] Cambridge LLVM Social
Hello any LLVM people in or near Cambridge (the original one, not the knock-off in Massachusetts), Chandler's closing speech at EuroLLVM indicated that LLVM developers on this side of the pond don't spend as much time in the pub as our Californian counterparts and that this was an important thing to address. To address this, I propose that we start a regular Cambridge LLVM social. The

[LLVMdev] Cambridge LLVM Social next week
The Boathouse is nice - on the river and with reasonable beer and food. The Old Spring is also quite nice, has big tables outside, and is usually quite quiet midweek.
