Ext3 webpage
Hi I was just wondering if there is a homepage for ext3? The one listed on freshmeat (http://freshmeat.net/redir/ext3/2491/url_homepage/) doesn't seem to have been updated recently. Thanks, Matt

Asterisk, NAT, and RTP?
Hello I think I finally understood the issue/solution, but I'd like to make sure I'm correct: - In Diana Cionoiu's famous article on Freshmeat (http://freshmeat.net/articles/nat-traversal-for-the-sip-protocol), regardless of whether SIP end-points use a public IP or are behind a NAT, RTP packets flow directly between the two SIP end-points because the SIP server only acts... as an

backup scripts
I was just curious if anyone knew if any good backup scripts...I found one the other day on freshmeat called ibackup which does a great number of things, but I just wanted an idea of what was being used these days. -- Andrew Rice Jr

Is the CentOS library for v4l named something

Bandwidth management under linux
In my search to control bandwidth on my network I found 2 projects.. 1. TC 2. BWM Tools - http://freshmeat.net/projects/bwmtools/ This brings me to 2 questions... Firstly, can TC control bandwidth in both directions? I read that it can only do 1 direction, which one I cant remember. Can you monitor the load on the queues you define? Does TC support IPv6? Secondly, BWM Tools seems to queue

Adding oggenc support for files other than WAV?
Is anyone working on making oggenc use some nice library that reads lots of different audio file formats so that people can encode from files other than WAV? For example, the 'AudioFile' library (just found it via a search on freshmeat) reads wav, aiff, aiff-c, .au, and .snd. Maybe there are other better libraries (OpenAL, maybe), but this library does what I want (read AIFF). -tim ---

LVM repairing or back to regular ext3?
Can anyone point me in the right direction for correcting errors on an HD when using LVM? I've tried e2fsck and indicates bad block. I've tried with -b 8193, 16384, and 32768 and no good. I've found some info about reiserfsck on google, but this utility doesn't seem to be included in Centos4.3. I did find it on my old FC1 box. I am thinking now I really should have went with

Perl wrapper for libvorbisfile or stuff
Hey guys, I wrote to this list previously, saying I needed a perl module to do Ogg Vorbis tag reading / writing. People pretty much pointed me to the Ogg::Vorbis module that wrapped around libvorbisfile and I should extend that to writing streams, not only reading them. Well, awright, I thought, let's do it. Problem is, though: The download links on freshmeat are all broken and I don't

More questions!
Hey thanks for your help guys. I got everything working. I've got a few other questions though. I want to have a dj/station type script or program to cycle through mp3's and play a call sign mp3 every certain # of songs. Whats the best program to do this? There's a few i've seen on freshmeat.net but i'm unsure of which to use. Also, I want to do a live broadcast once a week.

[leaf-user] FW: CF Boot media creation
I downloaded DOS6.22 image from putergeek.com. Used fdisk from that floppy and format from that floppy. Still no luck. If I execute fdisk under leaf (monkeynoodle.org) as fdisk/dev/hdc, and give p for print partition table, I get the following: Disk /dev/hdc: 16 heads, 32 sectors, 123 cylinders. Units = cylinders of 512 * 512 bytes Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/hdc1

Mirror site ftp.plig.org out of date
The mirror site ftp.plig.org is out of date, for example <ftp://ftp.plig.org/pub/OpenBSD/OpenSSH/portable/snapshot/> stops in 2005-03-07 while the same directory on the master site has recent files. I don't know whether this outdatedness applies only to the Portable OpenSSH snapshots or to the whole OpenBSD tree. -- Ed Avis <ed at membled.com>

Beginner's Stumbling Blocks
Others have commented on the usefulness of adding an explicit list of what should be included in the kernel. I second that. There''s another thing that''s tripped me up: While iproute2 compiles and installs easily (on a Red Hat 6.1 box), the documentation is in a format that - while not obscure to old Unix hands - requires compilation, which requires: "To make documentation,

I just found syslinux from freshmeat.net, I'm trying to build a boot disk that will do the following. - Boot an OS from floppy - Partition hard disk >4GB - format hard disk, with specific cluster sizes - perhaps load a network stack I'm trying to automate system builds, but DOS based disks have the limitation of not being able to do many types of file systems, if you convert

Video Recording
Hi, I would like to record some training/advertising videos, in a similar format to those offered by CBT Nuggets (and others). Essentially this means I need to be able grab real video (e.g. webcam or DV camcorder, etc) as well as what is on the computer screen (VNC Recorder maybe) and audio. In terms of output I would like it to be in Ogg Theora format as these seems to be supported both on

Sieve
Hi all, I'm using Dovecot for some months now, and I love it! I also saw that there are 'plans' to integrate Sieve support. Well, some days ago I saw the following on freshmeat: libSieve - http://libsieve.sourceforge.net/ libSieve is a standalone library pulled from CMU's implementation of their Sieve mail sorting library in the Cyrus mail server.
