O.T. Wheel mouse
Slightly off topic, but wanted to ask. Is there any first source/seconds or third source application that can be used to speed up the movement of the wheel mouse? It's painfully slow compared to my "normal" usage on a windows box. Or, are there any quick hacks that can be made to speed up the wheel in the Xconfig? Kickstart Questions
Hi, We dont run DHCP in our environment where I build our servers, is it required to get a first IP address to hit my kickstart server running on my xandros debian laptop? Just been a couple years since I last did some kickstart builds and I dont have system-config-kickstart running on a machine here in my home lab. I can turn on DHCP on my linux laptop perhaps, but just wanted to check in

PXE / Kickstart / nfs ....
hello there, I wonder if you could help me: I am trying to install 50 diskless servers using PXE / kickstart, it all starts well, DHCP server issues a dynamic address, tftp issues the kickstart file, the client starts reading the KS file but at some point anaconda brings up an unhandled exception related to Python when reading Comps.xml?? What is really unsettling is the fact that if I plug

kickstart
Hello, I've been trying to kickstart a install centos from a USB memory stick. Everything with that is working fine, but I seem to be having a problem with the ks.cfg file. gnbd vs drbd
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Up until now, I have been using drbd for file custers with great success. Yes, it is a PITA, and sometimes you can get annoying sincronization issues (mostly on lab situations). Now I have been considering giving gnbd (with cs/gfs) a try. Do any of you ever crossed this path ? Any comparisons or comments ? TIA, - -- Rodrigo Barbosa "Quid

files in a directory limitation
Just curious but is there a limitation on the number of files in a directory? I am using ext3. I'm not concerned about file size just the number of files. Thanks, Jerry

NVidia Quadro4 200/400 NVS CentoOS 4.4
I've put a Nvidia Quadro card in my machine. It was first detected as Quadro4 200/400 NVS. I have the pigtail for dual monitors. I've tried tweaking the xorg file to get it working, to no avail. So I then downloaded the 9631 version driver from Nvidia. The readme for the newer files said that they didn't support this card. I run the installer, it builds the module, but gets

CentOS vs. Nokia Phones
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I have been trying to access my Nokia 6230 using a DKU-2 data cable from CentOS, with some weird results. Interesting thing is that I have VMWare installed on this machine and, if I install the Nokia Suite inside it, it can access the phone without problems. So all hardware related parts are working. Anyway, kernel load the cdc_acm module, and gives

Re: Reboots -- LSB 2.1 Core Generic Section 8.5
From: Rodrigo Barbosa <rodrigob at suespammers.org> > There is nothing wrong with using X11 at runlevel 3. The only thing > that can't be present is a display manager (KDM, XDM, GDM etc). That's _exactly_ what I'm talking about. Run-level 3 starts xdm. Several Linux distros use 2 for multi-user, 3 for multi-user w/X. Run-level 2 as multi-user w/o networking or w/o NFS was

Red Hat Developer Toolset 3 for CentOS6?
Hi all, I could find the 1.1 and 2 repos gently provided by Tru Huynh, but quid of a v3 of the toolset? I've just found that Qt 5.4 requires what's shipped in this v3 (gcc 4.9.1, binutils 2.24) and would prefer installing those from a repo. If not, the sources will rule. Any hint? In what little free time I have I''ve been wanting to put together a Rails/Ferret based restful dictionary. So I finally got a chance to get started today so the first thing I wanted to do was implement a metaphone
