Solaris10 forum
Hi all- Usually i call out on this list for help on the CentOS matters but today I am fishing around trying to find an active forum for Solaris. It's hard to match the community here but I'd like to find the Solaris list where the most people are. Just having trouble configuring multipathing on QLogic iSCSI HBA's on Sparc_Solaris10. Thanks in advance- -rickp -------------- next

Belkin F5D6050 USB Wireless in CentOS 4.2
Is anyone successfully using a Belkin F5D6050 USB Wireless in CentOS 4.2? If so, what driver are you using? Did you have to do anything special to make it work? At this point, I have downloaded, compiled installed and loaded the latest drivers from http://atmelwlandriver.sourceforge.net but lvnet is unable to find my adapter. I've tried every driver module that it created, and still no

automount nfs
Hi, The NFS mount points I have setup keep getting their ownership changed to root. Is there an option, perhaps in the auto.misc/ auto.master files, to set to preserve or set the ownership of the mount points?? Thanks in advance- RIckp

OpenIPMI on a SunFire v20z
Hi all, New to the list and (mostly) new to CentOS. We have just moved from running RHEL to CentOS on our main production servers. Anyway, I am configuring a couple of new SunFire v20z servers here at the moment and trying to get the systems' management interfaces to work fully under CentOS. First issue was trying to install the openipmi RPM from the CD that came with the SunFires, this RPM

Redhat Cluster Manager?
I just spend a few hours working with Redhat Cluster Manager. After working through some things that deal with Centos versus the *upstream provider*, I started configuring a cluster. Even to the point of using HP ILO as the fence. Anyone using this in production? With GFS ? I have used Heartbeat V1 in the past and I am deploying a new colo so I am looking at options. Any feedback is welcome.

CentOS and EMC PowerPath/Naviagent
Is anyone using CentOS 4.4 with an EMC Clariion SAN? In particular, I want to know if PowerPath and Naviagent will work on a CentOS 4 system connected to a san using Qlogic or Emulex cards. I tried a couple years ago with Fedora Core 1 or 2, and couldn't get the kernel modules from PowerPath to work since the kernel wasn't the official RHEL one. I'm most interested in

Xen on CentOS 4.3
Hello, Has anyone set up Xen on an existing CentOS 4.3 system? Does it work well, or is it better to wipe the system and start clean? I haven't found a lot of information about this specifically. Secondly, I have found on the xen source website downloads for xen 3.02, which are meant for FC4 or RHEL (U1). I'm tempted to try the RHEL downloads, but I don't have any spare machines

Using local disk for cache on an iSCSI zvol...
I''m just wondering if anyone has tried this, and what the performance has been like. Scenario: I''ve got a bunch of v20z machines, with 2 disks. One has the OS on it, and the other is free. As these are disposable client machines, I''m not going to mirror the OS disk. I have a disk server with a striped mirror zpool, carved into a bunch of zvols, each exported via

tzdata
I read a few days back on the list where the tzdata rpm was to take care of the new DST rules. I run CentOS 3 servers, and did a 'yum update tzdata' , but received a 2006a update of the rpm. Is this proper? It sure didn't fix anything. Thanks Steve Campbell campbell at cnpapers.com Charleston Newspapers

System time monotonicity
It seems that VCPU system time isn''t monotonic (using 3.0.4). It seems it might be correlated to when a VCPU is switched across real CPUs but I haven''t conclusively proved that. But e.g.: { old = { time = { version = 0x4ec pad0 = 0xe8e0 tsc_timestamp = 0x22cc8398b7194 system_time =

benchmark results
I've had the chance to use a testsystem here and couldn't resist running a few benchmark programs on them: bonnie++, tiobench, dbench and a few generic ones (cp/rm/tar/etc...) on ext{234}, btrfs, jfs, ufs, xfs, zfs. All with standard mkfs/mount options and +noatime for all of them. Here are the results, no graphs - sorry: http://nerdbynature.de/benchmarks/v40z/2009-12-22/ Reiserfs

So pretty sure one of my boxes has been owned. Just wanted some advise on what to do next. File system cache corruption with CentOS4?
Just wondering if anyone else has come across an issue where files cached in memory appear to become 'corrupted' - for example, on one workstation, I've just had the issue: # yum Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/bin/yum", line 4, in ? import yum File "__init__.py", line 36, in ? File "config.py", line 34, in ? File

Where to download a centos4 livecd image?
Hi I can't find a place where I can download a centos4.x livecd iso I only found a centos5 image on the web. Can anyone give me an url? I'd like to clone centos4 machines, using the livecd. I used a systemrescue live cd image to create the filesystem structure with evms, and copy all files, but have problems with installing grub, because the version is not the same. I imagine it would

dovecot FC2 (0.99.14) to CentOS4 (0.99.11-8.EL4)
Hi, I have to move IMAP mail store from FC Dag's dovecot 0.99.14 to new Centos4 machine. Dovecot complains about corrupted indexes, Missing location field, Data position of record xxx points outside file etc. There's no 0.99.14 version for EL4 in rpmforge. Distribusion version is three steps down - 0.99.11. Any hints? Thanks a lot. David PS: I have rsynced all maildir Friday and today I
