Outlook renames Junk folder
Hello, Some versions of Outlook will randomly rename the Junk folder to Junk Email. This of course causes errors because Dovecot can no longer store junk. I go in to Outlook for each user and add another Junk folder, so now they have Junk and Junk Email. This fix action lasts a while until Outlook decides to do it again. Is there a way to tell Dovecot that if the Junk folder doesn't

SPECIAL-USE again
Hi, Great to see Thunderbird support SPECIAL-USE now. I would like to hear the list about the intended use of SPECIAL-USE. I get the impression from several earlier mails here that the intention is for the server to globally decide what the folder-name of a specific SPECIAL-USE folder is for all users. That's the way the documentation exemplifies it and what I get from posts like this:

LIST-EXTENDED support?
Hi there. Can I check if LIST-EXTENDED refers to RFC 6154 (http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc6154), rfc for special use mailboxes. I'd like to specify a designated folder as \Spam and etc. Googling "dovecot list-extended" and "dovecot special use" suggests that dovecot supports this feature (via patch logs and 1 bug report for Mozilla Thunderbird which suggests that

user-defined special-use folders
I plan to define SPECIAL-USE mailboxes and think about defining per user special-use folders for those who don't use the default folder names. Is this possible in dovecot? What I try: $ doveadm exec imap * PREAUTH [CAPABILITY IMAP4rev1 LITERAL+ SASL-IR LOGIN-REFERRALS ID ENABLE IDLE SORT SORT=DISPLAY THREAD=REFERENCES THREAD=REFS THREAD=ORDEREDSUBJECT MULTIAPPEND URL-PARTIAL CATENATE

Thunderbird supports SPECIAL-USE (Merry x-mas!)
I've waited about two years to write this mail... :) As of Dezember, 24th Mozilla Thunderbird can handle SPECIAL-USE. The patch, which adds the required functionality, has passed review and TBs nightly build was successful. The next official Thunderbird release (version 38, release date 2015-05-19) will very likely ship SPECIAL-USE included. \o/ SPECIAL USE is an IMAP extension. It means

questions about SPECIAL-USE and virtual
Hi, I have some questions about Special-Use and virtual namespace: I want to create a virtual namespace with mailboxes: Sent, Unread, Flagged, All. 1. Is it enough to put in the config file: mailbox virtual/Sent { auto = subscribe special_use = \Sent } mailbox virtual/Unread { auto = subscribe special_use = \Unread #Is it correct? } mailbox

Folder Aliases - Revisited Yet Again
I just did a search through my archives - seems this topic has been requested a few times since my posting two years ago. I asked about a specific implementation - which Mr. Sirainen never commented on. He was probably focused on something more important at the time - like a paying job. So I'll ask again... Calling Timo! If we can't get clients to agree on a "standard"

Bug maybe already resolved? Sieve rule does not accept special use folder names
Hmmm, confusing, clients should then display the mailbox name redirected by the server. If a user in a front end just sees the 'Junk E-mail', that is the name he is going to be using in his mailbox rules. If he does not know that this is actually the Junk folder on the server, he will make an incorrect message rule. So I guess you have to correct this server side, before storing

Dovecot 2.1 with custom OpenSSL fails to build
Hello Dovecot users! There seems to be a new dependency in some modules (eg, lib-storage, libdovecot-lda, libdovecot-ssl) on OpenSSL. In Dovecot 2.0, those modules didn't require OpenSSL, but 2.1 does. For the linking process the path to the OpenSSL library isn't specified properly (SSL_LIBS). Dovecot fails to build if OpenSSL is in a non-standard path. (Haven't checked if SSL_CFLAGS
