Multiple Concurrent IMAP Connections For Same User
Hi
I've been using courier for some time, but have just built a new box and
am using dovecot (V1.2.9), Ubuntu 10.04LTS. I have a question regarding
multiple concurrent imap connections and how to get dovecot to behave in
the same way that courier does. I have searched the wiki, but find
little relevant to my specific issue.

to try my config (have to do so after hours), but I have some probably simple-minded questions:
Your example is not the complete dovecot-ldap.conf.ext file, right? Have you just given me
differences in your config from the "original"? You've kept the hosts, base, ldap_version,

Howto authenticate smartPhone via Active Directory
Unfortunately, I tried for weeks to figure out passdb ldap without success. I guess I'm just
not knowledgeable enough about how to use ldap and Active Directory. The dovecot wiki
https://wiki2.dovecot.org/AuthDatabase/LDAPm doesn't help me much. All it says is:
Active Directory
When connecting to AD, you may need to use port 3268. Then again, not all LDAP fields are

Yes, you are right. This link: https://www.redips.net/linux/android-email-postfix-auth/#section2

used for authenticating Android. Problem #1 is that Slackware does not ship with PAM and the
AD/DC Samba4 does not use it. It is used on Slackware for a domain member, but I'm not sure I
should try configuring PAM on the AD/DC.
Is there some otherway I can get

It seems you'd have to configure OpenLDAP backend for Samba to have LDAP.

GPFS for mail-storage (Was: Re: Compressing existing maildirs)
Great information, thank you. Could you remark on GPFS services hosting mail storage over a WAN between two geographically separated data centers?

Yes that is the google thread that I saw.
I don't see the relevance of your reference to dsync.
As I read the man pages for dsync it is used to sync separate servers, to make
backups or to convert mailbox formats.
When I upgraded from 1.2.15 to 2.1.1 I saw nothing in the doco to suggest that
dsync was relevant to my scenario.
In a previous thread here (Log sync errors), Timo suggested

Howto authenticate smartPhone via Active Directory
Hi Mark,
Just to let you know that we are running dovecot with AD. (and I guess:
*many* people are running that combination)
It worked without issues, we are using in dovecot-ldap.conf.ext:

AW: Linux PDA/smartphone sync?
Hi Ugo,
Maybe "Funambol" could do the job :-)
Many Devices will work with this Software,
But i'm unsure if your Device will work.
For Details you should have a closer look to:

Dear All,
Thanks for all your replied but still I don't know how to install from 1.0.7 to 1.2.14. What should I consider to keep the same configuration during or after upgrade?
It is the first time I am trying to upgrade my Dovecot.
Thank a lot for your help

log contents questions?
I switched from using Pegasus and POP3 to Thunderbird and IMAP for my
email. Now I get a lot of "Corrupted index cache file" errors in my
log. Dovecot is running under Fedora 8 and is version 1.0.13-6.fc8.
The Thunderbird is version 2.0.0.14 running under Windows XP. My wife's
Blackberry is also using IMAP and not reporting any errors.
Any ideas what the problem is or how to

Fwd: Re: Dotlock dovecot-uidlist errors / NFS / High Load
Stan,
Thanks for the reply. In our case we have actually already done most of
the work you suggested to no avail. We had rebuilt two new ntp servers
that sync against two stratum 1 sources, and all our nfs clients,
regardless of using dovecot, sync to those two machines. You bring up the
difference between bare metal and hypervisor, and we are running these
machines on vmware 4.0. All the
