[PATCH] Replace hard-coded PKG_STATEDIR with state_dir setting
Sharing an installed copy of dovecot between several users each running a daemon within their own account (or using the same binaries for a system daemon and a user daemon) is difficult because the compile-time directory PKG_STATEDIR (typically /var/lib/dovecot) is hard-coded as the location of things like the ssl-parameters.dat file and the replicator database. Replace all these uses of

How to Create an ISOLinux Bootable CD Question
Peter, First, I'm not a programmer and I don't have Linux. The reason I am emailing you is that I spend the two weeks looking over your site and other trying to figure out " HOW to create an ISOLinux image or convert my existing ISO image to and ISOLinux image. I have some software called" Flashboot" that can take and ISOLinux image and can create a bootable Flash drive of

stable libmilter leaks kqueue descriptors?
A few weeks back I upgraded my mail server to -STABLE from a 4.2-STABLE incarnation that had been running for years. Part of recompiling everything on the box involved disassociating my use of the sendmail port I was using and to use the base sendmail in -STABLE. -STABLE builds with libmilter, so I simply recompiled one of my milter clients with the milter headers, objs, etc that were produced

32-bit Centos 5.1 kickstart hangs on xen domU HVM installation
I am trying to a install Centos 5.1 32-bit Xen HVM DomU onto a Centos 5.1 64bit DomU with the default xen installed and the kickstart hangs at random points during the install process. Sometimes retrieving the image, sometimes formatting the filesystem, sometimes installing the packages, etc. I tried upgrading to xen 3.2 and encounter the same problem before rebuilding back to stock Centos 5.1

I need to launch a job remotely from a Windows machine on a CentOS box, the caveat is that I can't maintain a connection once I have initiated the job. Anyone got an idea how I can accomplish this? Thanks! jlc

rpcclient error / printer driver issue
SUSE 9.1 samba-3.0.9-2.6 samba-client-3.0.9-2.6 I am getting some errors that I can't seem to track down in any of the archives. I came across this problem when trying to delete a driver none of the printers are listed in the smb.conf - it is all being generated from the cups and the printcap that cups makes on load First enumprinters works: rpcclient $> enumprinters

302rc1 and AIX 5.2
I'm getting some wierd things going on. Mostly segfaults with testparm, but others as well... AIX 5.2, IBM C compiler version 6.0, libiconv 1.9.1 compiled in shared mode. I've resolved the LIBPATH thing so I can compile correctly now. When I start nmbd, or smbd with the -D option they just chew up a ton of cpu and log level 10 only shows the code pages being mapped and that's it. I

Cloning of Running Domain
Hello, I have a running transient domain with a storage volume that utilizes a backing file (both QCOW2 format). I'd like to capture the disk and memory state of the domain preferably to external file(s) (which I understand is an 'external checkpoint'), so that other independent domains can be instantiated and effectively "resumed" from this point-in-time profile. My

[LLVMdev] Moving towards a singular pointer type
I think we should keep GEP essentially the same, but disassociate the type being GEPd over from the type of the operands. So, assuming the new ptr type is spelled "ptr", we could use this syntax: %inner.ptr = getelementptr ptr, ptr %x, i32 1 Or if I was adding 1 to a "struct A*" value in C: %next_elt = getelementptr %struct.A, ptr %x, i32 1 Ditto for all other instructions

LinuxWorld Expo Update
Well, the first day was interesting. We a variety of questions from why do we do this, what's going on with RH, how come this is the first I've heard of you. And hundreds more. The good thing is that we've recieve a very positive response from everyone that visited our booth. Such a positive response that all our CentOS CD's are gone, and most of the cAos CD's are gone, and

improve compatibility with Galaxy tablet?
See below, although none of these things should be specific to the Galaxy tablet (my older tablet works fine, too). On 2020-01-03 13:20, Robert Jeffares wrote: > Is the Galaxy using Wi-Fi ? How do I manage manifests most efficiently...?
Hi As I''m more familiar with cfengine and it''s way to split updates (in update.conf) from the actual grunt work (in cfagent.conf), I''m wondering how to best manage puppet and my manifests with puppet...? Should I define a puppet class that copy the puppet package (in .tgz format) and all the manifests to the client, and then have all my other classes depend on

Clearing dependent collections
I have a user model that owns messages : class User < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :messages , :dependent => :nullify end I''m using nullify so that when the user is deleted, the messages continue to exist - they''re just marked as being ownerless. However, calling user.messages.clear actually deletes all his messages, which I was a little surprised at. I would

How to delte a printer
Hello, how can I delete a printer and it's driver completely out of samba? 1. Removing the entry out of smb.conf and reload samba. 2. Remove the driver over the windows serversettings dialog. But then there is a "printing/printer-name.tdb" left in the lock directory. Can I just delete this file? And how can I remove the corresponding entries out of ntprinters.tdb. And is there

DOMU loses outside connection
When I start xen dom0 I get that same dhcp address for eth0 and for xen-br0, dom0 can talk to the world. If I start each of my 3 domU''s mannually, each guest gets a xen-br0 vif with a dhcp address and all 3 can talk to the outside world and each other (my "flat network"). What I want is a tiered network with the first domU acting as a firewall with 3 nics vif = [
