Converting CLIENT_MAIL_DATA_MAX_INMEMORY_SIZE to a configurable?
Hi,
Currently Dovecot's LMTPd writes incoming emails to mail_temp_dir if
it's bigger than 128k. But I would like to spare those unnecessary
operations (creating a file, deleting it, writing into it, reading from
it, checking whether there is free space and if not, rejecting
(temporarily) the message). Memory is cheap, disk IO is not. :)
And BTW, on a lot of systems, /tmp is a memory

Upgrading from 2.0.8 to 3.0
Hi,
Ahead of the Counter Strike performance discussion i want to know if there
is an upgrade path for me to follow getting from 2.0.8 to 3.0. I would
imagin that i just compile and install xen 3.0, compile the kernels, then
create the domU''s from scratch and copy over the data...
Anyone upgrade from 2.0.8?
Gr,
Bart

Crash in 2.0.8 dovecot/imap - information capture
My dovecot logs revealed a crash in the dovecot/imap process a few
days ago. It appears to have dereferenced 0x00000004 in the storage
shared lib. Unfortunately, I didn't get a core and I'm not sure how
to reproduce it. Dovecot 2.0.8 on linux32.
Two questions:
1) How can I be sure I get a core next time? I think it's because I
run dovecot/imap under a mail uid and didn't have

Possible bug in shorewall 2.0.8
Hello,
I believe there may be a bug in shorewall version 2.0.8. I''ve been using
shorewall for years without problems (last installed version was 1.4.6b-1).
I''ve posted previously with the subject line "After upgrade people can no
longer connect" dated on Sunday, September 19, 2004 which contains all the
information for the upgrade.
Today I uninstalled shorewall

I can't find any references to this problem on 2.x. I upgraded to 2.0.8

the server refusing new connections):

2.0.8 & enable-header-install
Dear List,
up to Dovecot 2.07 I used "--enable-header-install" for the Sieve Plugin
when configuring Dovecot before compiling. With 2.0.8 I get the
following message when running the configure script: "configure:
WARNING: unrecognized options: --enable-header-install"
Is this intentionally? Is there a substitute directive for Sieve when
compiling Dovecot 2.08?

dovecotpw missing (2.0.8)
Hello,
I just installed dovecot version 2.0.8 from the source tarball. After doing
./configure, make, and make install, I don't have the dovecotpw binary
anywhere. It is not in /usr/local/bin or /usr/local/sbin where the other
binaries are; I also did a find / for it and don't see it.
Is there some configuration flag I'm missing? I read the flags in
./configure --help and nothing

Imap segfault on login with version 2.0.8 & 2.0.11
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to upgrade/test our configuration files from Dovecot 1.2 to 2.0.11. ?I used the Dovecot config convert command, created a RHEL 5 x86_64 rpm, and tested it. ?I can connect, but once I login, the IMAP service segfaults. ?I've also reproduced this on version 2.0.8.
I installed the debug RPM (for the stripped symbols), took a look at the core dump in gdb, and just got

the auth settings on the config changed, after looking through the dovecot

Upgrade from 1.2.16 with sieve/managesieve to 2.0.8 with pigeonhole
Hi,
I would like to upgrade my server from 1.2.16 with sieve and managesieve
to 2.0.8 with pigeonhole. Will I get all functionality I was having
before? Should this migration be painless or will it require some
additional work?
I've read the Upgrading guide so I know I need to create an additional
user. I've migrated the mails from Maildir to dbox in the past (using

leaving ports open for tftp
hey guys,
I have a really silly question for you! I just built a cobbler server that I am using to bare metal some boxes. But I am a bit n00b and need to figure out which ports to open in iptables.
Here's a start:
xinetd 2031 root 8u IPv4 94306 UDP *:tftp
in.tftpd 9203 root cwd DIR 253,0 4096 588097 /tftpboot
